Not saying that it was the sole problem for me, I said that it contributed to my last test with the octane booster, well thinking about it it would kind of impact the valve stem seals because when the valves open the gasses go through there hence to "POSSIBLY" contributing to early failure of valve stem seals. I've only ever heard good from Caltex, my preference now is BP then Caltex.

Hey guys Well from what I have read and from my understanding, especially now that Shell have once again changed their V-Power is that Shell just add way to many additives, and it's these additives that help you fail the emissions test because first of all the "cleaning" additives make the combustion burn hotter - first of all yeah this is kind of a good thing in a way as if the fuel wants more heat to combust it will help with detonation but by it running hotter it also causes you're car to lean out and also produce more NOx which is one of the things they test at emissions testing. Secondly due to all their additives (cleaners, detergents, alcohols, colouring) you're seals don't like it, for example I've read on many places that peoples valve stem seals have started drying up and many link it back to the fuel - don't hold me to this one as you cant really pinpoint this although I kind of get how it could. Again with all of Shells additive's it forms a film over you're plugs hence causing slight misfiring and also sticky seals. Another down side is that their fuel is no longer as pure as it's stuffed with heaps of their additives etc and on another note of this, fuel consumption is increased (I've noticed much better fuel consumption with BP and alike. I have been using and recommending Shell V-Power ever since I got into the car scene which has been around about 10 or so years, but lately they have really let me down. I'm in no way or form trying to boost sales or kill sales from any company, just putting up my thoughts, research and experience.

Rightio heres another update. I really hate myself right now. Had a emissions test today after installing a stock cat, changing the plugs etc, farken failed and just, you wanna know why? Farking Crap Shell V-Power fuel and octane booster, even the testing dude told me that quite a few people have just failed using shell fuel, after changing to BP as he recommends it passes, now I gotta wait till Wednesday to get it re tested as they only do emissions testing on Wednesdays. I can't drive my car from Friday so whippie no car again till that crap is sorted and my engineer signs off the papers, theres my rant lol, thanks.
-
Yayy, I have finally found a stock cat haha lol, gonna put it on tomorrow and change my plugs again, I must have damaged one of the plugs while gaping them because I've got a ugly missfire on idle and once I boot it it's fine.

Hey Mat, a little off topic but I asked you on YouTube and haven't seen a reply, what do you have your Bee-r set up on, EG, launch cut and the duration, thanks.
-
Garrrhhhhhggggg, does anyone know anyone selling a R34 GTT cat? Surely you must know Mat :-D, or whats the next best aftermarket cat to get? not so much for flow but for emissions, thanks.
-
Yeah what f**king law, it's Straya mate no f**ken law here, they make up their laws how and when they please and if or if not they got laid the night before. Back on topic, would a r33 cat bolt straight on to a r34 GTT, are they exactly the same, thanks.
-
Would a R34 GTR cat fit on a GTT.
-
Has anyone got a second hand cat for sale by any chance.
-
From 8:30am till 10:45am ffs, checked over everything and on the hoist, no tools though.
-
Called him today, he doesn't engineer what I need to be engineered.
-
So I just got back from the inspection and here's some feedback. They cleared everything although I got a defect notice for blue slip because I need to get an Engineers Certificate for my Exhaust, Wheels and Intercooler, also my boot brake light wasn't working (the f**ker was working when I checked this morning), number plate obscured apparently by my rear view camera pfff, so now I'm on the hunt for a Engineers Certificate.
-
Hey man, nah I doubt it, he said it's because of all the cootes trucks being defected or something, he told me that defect clearing for cars are only on Thursday's, I explained to him that I need the car for work and that it's my daily etc, so he stuck me in for Tuesday morning before the first truck comes in at 9 so I gotta be there at 8:30am, thanks.
-
Bastards, called me today, said they overbooked for Thursday so now it has been re-booked for Tuesday, that means no Skyline over the weekend :'(, gahhh.
-
Does anyone know if they will be doing an emissions test.
-
Waiting for my new tyres to go on :-D.
-
My thread has been hijacked haha lol.
-
Not too sure on that one, I really don't believe so though, although the bastards might say something along the lines of power to weight or strength or come up with some kind of crap, I will find out in the morning for you and let you know, thanks.

Unfortunantly again, heavy vehicle inspection is what they call the (pits), the strictest inspection, I did call today and made an appointment and they did confirm that yes they do defects, again you gotta love the Australian law brother, they can make the rules as they please and in what mood their in, and if they did do something wrong they have covered their arses by calling it a simple typographical error and the defect still applies - on my previous car I got defected and they wrote down a completely different make/model of car and I tried fighting about it but all I got back is it was human error a typographical error, it's ok I'm happy, got a call from my lawyer after he spoke to the commissioner today because I called him to come down as he lives around the corner when I got pulled over, she is in some trouble as since September 2012 they aren't allowed to show their tattoos, they have to cover them with long sleeve shirts etc, she on the other hand had a full sleeve tattoo uncovered - don't get me wrong I have nothing against tattoo's, I love them, but she wants to be an arsehole well payback is a biatch, thanks.

Unfortunatly it used to be like that, rules have changed, they can follow you into your driveway as long as they saw you 50+ meters away from you're home or any private property, although if you're at your residential address they can't breath test you or drug test you but if you're on someone elses property they can. Quick update: Screamer pipe is off - and I can say I'm glad lol, I think I'm getting too old, it actually started to get annoying. Blow off valve done. Gonna do a full service tomorrow just in case they do an emissions test and it will help with that a little - new spark plugs, fresh oil etc. Ordered the tyres and am going tomorrow to get them fitted. Booked for Thursday so I'll see how I go and if it doesn't pass I will know exactly what I need to do, I will keep use updated, thanks.

Yeah I know, I even told them, I pointed out this Ford Laser 80's model to them across the road and told them that they should really be pulling those cars over and not us as we would check our brakes, safety system etc, plus on top have abs, stability control etc, the laser across the road is a nightmare, oil leaks everywhere, brakes squeal like a pig getting tortured, bloke barely stops, scariest part is that the fuel leaks out of the fuel cap/flap on a hot day lol.

I wish that was the case, unfortunately the popo ticked the HVIS which is the rta heavy vehicle inspection station, where they normally love to rape people.

Hi guys last night I was driving with the Mrs to her house, HWY patrol past me in the other direction and saw me so did a U-Turn, I was right around the corner from her house and I pulled into her driveway, with no sirens or flashing lights they pull in behind me, breath tested and drug tested me and all was clear, then they proceeded to pop my bonnet, I got defected for BOV, bald tyres and apparently too low although the car is 125mm off the floor at the lowest point but I was parked on a shitty slope type surface her driveway. Now I got a yellow sticker and can't drive it after 4:15pm tomorrow and have a full inspection at botany HVIS. On the defect paper it states. 1. Vehicle ground clearance - to comply. 2. Aftermarket exhaust - to comply. 3. Check legality & performance of vehicle braking system - to comply. 4. Check legality & performance of vehicle suspension system - to comply. 5. Check legality & performance of all (4) wheels and tyres - to comply. 6. Blow off valve fitted - to comply. Major Defect and yellow label. The defect must be cleared by a/at full inspection ticked and light vehicle ticked, also Authorised Heavy Vehicle Inspection Station (HVIS) ticked. Questions that I need help with please, and yes I have searched but it looks like I'm completely hopeless with that. 1. Will my car pass with Tien Coilovers which I can only adjust the spring load on and not height. 2. Will it pass with the factory tinted rear windows as they brought that up aswell. 3. On my compliance Engineers Certificate wheel/tyre size is 225/45/17 front and rear 235/45/17, will I pass with fronts 225/40/18 and rear 255/35/18 - they didn't complain about wheel size yesterday. 4. Will I pass with my pod filter although it has an aluminium box. 5. Front mount intercooler although it's tucked in behind my bar no extrusions etc. 6. I have a 3inch full exhaust with cat, and exas evo tune catback, will that also pass or will it be too loud. 7. If I just take my aftermarket wing off and put stickers over the wing holes will that also pass. Thank you for any help in advance and I'm so sorry if this has been already covered, most likely it has but like I said forgive me please I'm hopeless with the search function, thanks.

I've been trying to download this for the past couple of days but it always gets to 50mb and stops downloading, does anyone have a torrent for this one as I'm using windows 8 and this one apparently works on windows 8, or should I just bite the bullet and pay the $11 premium membership and hopefully it downloads, thanks.
