    Use a solder that already contains flux. Flux cleans the wire. The wires are not taking solder because they are either dirty or your application method is not quite right.

    You can use one of those car washes that you leave on the car while foaming. Forget what it's called. Never used it. However, if you thoroughly wash your car and then claybar it, there will be not a lot left on the paint. That's the job of the claybar. To strip everything off the paint.

    Yes that clutch will not like it if you ride it. Ie staying on the friction point a long time. And yes that is the clutch you are smelling. Try this if you are still learning. Blip throttle to keep revs at about 1.5 - 2k rpm, as you are doing that start letting go of the clutch until you it starts to grab then just feather the clutch with the throttle. Easy peasy. My gf can do it. You can do it

    I say, Get shit box but dont do major work to the R Once you have a second car, you can on occasion daily the skyline. Replace turbos, do gearbox, fuel system, ecu and leave it at that for a while until you do have enough cash. The job wont be so big that you feel yourself being overwhelmed and it is small enough that you can feel special when you have completed the job.
