  1. Thanks guys. I dont mind keeping the 3 bolt flange. But if I were to do that I need a cat with a 3 bolt flange. I have not found one yet. :S
  2. @ GoHard. Wicked, I think Ill give that a shot next. I just used Meguiars gold class wax. Its sooooo good. But Ill try the next gen next . @Ruxis. The problem is that you might need paint correction, a pro job. Or, yes you can try a proper cut and then a good wax to seal it up. Id recommend a proper cut first . Good luck, and told you so hahah
  3. Thats really good that someone has been doing it constantly. Glad to hear its going good bubba. My theory is, the jap's know these cars, why on earth would it be in the manual if it wasnt safe? Also I heard that this method is used when the car is being towed. Thanks pistol pete. I will keep running my car in rwd for dyno days. And I will enjoy it.
  4. I have done this. You can hear it bleed off. As op said it is outlined in the manual also, Toshi advised me on this method stating that the this is how the guys in Japan do it when they do dyno runs. Another thing, when you do the method named above, if you keep an eye on the fw torque gauge, it does not move. Pistol -Pete you have no evidence backing up you're one word shoot. I think it's fine. How about you run it full time and let us know if it's safe .
  5. Hey all While getting my car serviced on the weekend I tried to get a front pipe installed that I bought off SAU. unfortunately the side of the front pipe that bolts on to the cat has a 3 bolt configuration and the cat has a 2 bolt configuration. Now I was looking at high flow cats, that's what the previous owner was running, but I could not find one with a 3 bolt flange on the one side. My question, anyone know of a cat with 3 bolt flange on the front pipe side? Or Can I just go to a exhaust shop and they'll be able to mock up a adapter? Thanks
  6. @VspecIInur - what n1's are you running?

  8. Thanks Grant I think youll have to pry my front bar off my dead hands haha. Nismo coppermix ey. Might have to do some research on that. As for the wheels. I got some 18x10.5 +15's. And the reasonable drop will come, some day when I recoup my money haha. The GTI made it really unenjoyable sometimes. So I think Ive learned my lesson with low cars haha. Hahah, nah that was taken in NSW. I have a little update as well. Got the car serviced today. Went to Proworks in Matraville. I was very impressed, he definately had a lot of knowledge and a wicked 180sx . Car is running smoothly. Got commented on how good of a condition the car was in. Im so glad my patience paid off. Report I got: Alls well . And they are the stock turbo's . Damn. Now I need to get some -7's. Haha. Also I had a 2nd hand front pipe that I wanted fitted. But no, I need a high flow cat because it wont bolt to the stocky. Extra things that are added to my list as of today: High flow fuel pump. Walbro or Bosch? High flow cat that will mate up to the front pipe. I also need 265/35/18 tyres for my new wheels. Anyone have a set of 4 they want to get rid of/ know of a place that offer some good tyres at a good price? Hit me up. No shitty nexens thanks.
  9. If you haven't yet, put it on gumtree. *hint**hint*
  10. You can't launch a stock clutch :S. Agree with nismoid. You can milk the clutch and make it last. Or you punish it and burn it out!
  11. +1 for meguairs ultimate quick wax. That stuff makes my car real shiny.
  12. Thanks pewpew. I've Placed my order. Hopefully get them next weekend .
  13. what insurance?
  14. Maybe add some pictures, offset! Basic things
  15. Maybe drop the price and you'll get offers. Food for thought
  16. haha, oops. Sounds siiickk.. haha.
  17. I love the sound of that bov. Whats it called? Oh and youre car sounds off its tits .
  18. Thats my bad. I should say it on here. This is a plug to delete the rear wiper. But with them having a lot of sizes. The possibilities are endless.
  19. Found the original site skylineowners
  20. Hi all So ive been googleing and googleing. And I stumbled across a thread over on skylineowners. Some guy found this website DBP77 grommet I couldnt justify paying anywhere from 40 - 70 dollars for the bungs and I havent gone to ask the local clark rubber or anything like that because I is lazy But the beauty of that site is, free sample. I ordered mine and am waiting patiently Cant wait. And if this helps you. Im glad
  21. Basically I'm stuck between 9.5 and 10.5 width. Will 9.5's suffice for a better look? Offset will be +15, and I'm just looking for a nice flush look. Just concerned that the 10.5's at +15 will have a little bit of poke, which is not what I want.
  22. that was very quick. haha I know they do. Just wondering is it worth going the 10.5 rather than a 9.5?
  23. Hi SAU Im just about to order some new wheels for my car. The specs are Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 +15 all round. I only have 2 questions, and Ive tried finding other R33 GTR's with the wheels but all had 10.5 wide wheels. 1 - Is 9.5 a good width? As in what is the widest tyre that it can accomodate? 2 - Will the be a good fit? I have done a search and +15 seems to be the preferred offset. But Im not sure whether being 9.5" changes the equation. Thank you for youre help
  24. Hi all Starting a good old build thread to help keep track of the things I will be doing. Kind of like a car diary So Before the GTR I had a MkV Golf GTI. Great little thing. But being fwd was not for me. I was making a respectable 160 fwkw. That car gave a lot of others a run for their money . She had some good stance So after growing weary of loosing traction for all of first and some of second. I decided to go shopping for a different car. I looked at R32's, for the life of me I could not find one in my price range that didnt look neglected. So then I was all over carsales trying to find out what my next car would be. What I wanted was to get out of the Euro scene. GTi's were/are everywhere. I did not like that at all. I couldnt find any other car that I wanted to be in and I wanted a GTR. Then I decided to start looking at R33's. Just for the record I looked at all of the ones that were in my price range in. They looked so sad. Rusty, dinged up, holes in the dash, high km's which translates to even higher km's by judging the interior. I remember looking at a series 3 GTR that had the worst Idle, and rust starting around the doors and in the engine bay. A supposed 60xxx km on the clock, dash was in a horrible state, and the seats were torn. Luckily I became a memeber on here prior to entering the market. It became clear that, that car definately was wound back. So after searching and searching I found a freshly imported '95 GTR, near stock, original paint job, no rust, no dents, imaculate interior, straight as an arrow. The guy who imported it was a stand alone importer, no workshop nothing. So I gave him a ring, he gave me his address. Off I went to go look at this car. Too many times have I gone to look at a car and be severely dissapointed. Seeing as this was the only one I havent scoped out I was crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. As I rock up, I see a BNR34 x2, Mazerati, and a car under a carcover. I was drooling or the r34 white with black wheels. Looked hawt. Then shook hands with the seller and he uncovered the car for me. I had a detailed walk around it. Could not flaw it, except someone being very careless with a buffer. But that was nothing I couldnt tackle. The car looked amazing. At the time it had 85xxx km on the clock with full service history. I was so happy. He fired it up, and she started without a hiccup. I jump in he goes for a little bit of a warm up drive and asks me if I would like a spin. It caught me off guard, every other dealer or seller either wanted a deposit to show that I would buy the car, or receive some of my persuasion techniques. But not this guy. We hit it off very well. I drove through a nice windy area. It drove true, it ran smooth, sounded great, idled on the dot. I knew this was the car for me. So after 2 weeks I met him at the local VIC roads and we made the payment and got the new plates for my new pride and joy. I was so nervous driving it home. It's the biggest car Ive ever owned. And very well can be the most powerful. . With some fresh oil and a quick wash, this was her a few months back. This is what she looked like when I got her. I knew she needed some love. And I was willing to give it to her. So after taking a crash course in GTR's from this forum. I started scoping things out. Checked my exhaust = MINES. Checked my ECU = MINES. Read up on the MINES ecu found out it is not really for us Ausies. So I got myself a BNR32 ecu and gave toshi a ring. Got him to give me a nice "safe" tune on 13 PSI. The result? Note it did hit 250 on one run. But I was happy. Toshi said the car must be in good condition because of how easy it was to set up the AFR's. Made me even more happy. With the stock gauge being as gay as aids, I got a defi imitation, shadow boost gauge. So happy. And the car is on 13 psi everytime. i love electronic gauges . Then I started takeling the other things that were annoying me. The facia had scratches. That rubber coating stuff wasnt made for durability was it? haha. So firstly I painted it black, then I CF wrapped it. I also did my valley cover a nice red. Then just on the weekend I finally tackled the paint properly. Clay bar and premium wax. Could not have been happier with how the paint job came out. Dont worry I didnt use the brush at the local car wash. Bucket and wool wash mit . Whats next? Get rid of the rear wiper. Its so ugly! haha Find out what turbo's I have. Seeing as Im hitting full boost at 4k, I dont think I have the stockies bolted on. Car is going in for a good service next weekend. Cant wait to find out what tubbies are pushing her. Fingers crossed for n1's. Yes I will be putting the boost up haha. Getting new wheels. Enkei RPF1's 18x9.5 +15. Dose that spec sound good? The overall idea of the car is, get some nice power out of her and enjoy for a while until I saved up the money to get a engine rebuild and then I know Ill be power hungry and we shall see what I would like to do. With my current image in mind, I would the GTR to be a majority street car with the occasional track day here and there. Not chasing power figures just want the car to drive the way I want it to. Will need to get all supporting mods before I take the power up too far. Stock clutch no good for launches haha. Dont know if I want a twin plate. Seeing as Ill be extracting more power out of her Im not left with many options. But I dont like the fact that a twin plate will wear away quite quickly in stop start traffic. Any recommendations? Thanks guys. And Ill make sure to keep updating. Also sorry if its too long winded. Cheers
  25. Shoulda gotten out and said, What did you say. Then Falcon punch him in the balls. Glad noting happened though.
