  1. Good one alex.
  2. Youre so simple minded.
  3. haha. I dont see it as a loss buddy. Im gald I had POS. Made appreciate my other cars much much more. Teach youre kids the value of money. Give them everything and they will know no better. And its not a aussie thing. Im from south africa and its the same there. Same goes for england/canada. So get that aussie philosophy thing out of youre head because that is just an excuse by isolating the problem. So youre statement is invalid.
  4. Haha must react with the skyline awesomeness and eliminate the dirt .
  5. Yeh plenty of jobs. Not many offering a job to a 20 year old with I dont know what qualification for a 6 figure salary. A bit fishy. Good luck with youre search OP. All in all, Id get a cheap car. But seeing as youre parents are funding you, well then I cant relate because I wasnt so lucky.
  6. congratulations. I dont think I know a where you can get a job at 20 with a 6 figure salary, unless its family owned maybe. So you bought youre own car when you were 20?
  7. Thats cool man. Just remember that shit happens, and the learning curve can be quite steep sometimes when youre driving unaccompanied/tired/frustrated, these things add to learning how to drive in different emotional states or the weather conditions. right on bro. How much was youre first car? What job did you have to earn that car? Did you pay it outright? And if youre trying to tell me that those little princesses I see in the 2010 2011 BMW 123's 320's on their red p's bought that car themself then I find that very very hard to believe. Very hard
  8. The best first car is a shot box. Too many times do I drive around seeing a *cough* young hotty in mummies BMW/merc and I just cringe to think how much it would be to repair one of those when and I repeat when a p plater has an accident. I had a barina as my first car and nicked a lot of things and the beauty of it was when I locked the keys in it I pried the door open and got them back haha. Not many cars will let you do that. Get a shit box until you know how to drive!
  9. Haha thanks sav. will get it checked out after the long weekend . I hope they arent stockies.
  10. By my searching and asking around, Ive heard anywhere from 2,800 - 3,500 RPM. hmmm, booking the car in for its 90k service the weekend after next. Hopefully the mechanic can get the tally plate number for me. Are there any other details I can get off the turbo? Sorry to be a nuisance guys. Just very curious
  11. Hey all I want to buy some new wheels and wont have anywhere to store my old wheels, unless I dont get what I want then ill just have to find a place to store them. So Standard GTR wheels 17x9 with bridgestone re040 tyres 245 all round. minimal gutter rash I think only on 3. Very very good condition for original wheels. Price is $1000 firm no need for offers guys, if they dont sell or not enough interest then Ill just keep them. Pictures to follow. Cheers
  12. I thought you werent in a rush to sell?
  13. With gt-ss and forged motor it will be putting out more than 200awkw easy.
  14. ok so, glad sau is back up and running . but during that time, i went and tested gauge, and car was running beautifully, which im glad. I have come to the conclusion that i do hit full boost at 4k, tried my best to look at the turbos, but only saw this Thats all I see, with the big garrett letters on the topside. :S. Cant wait for my service to come up so I can ask the mechanic to have a looksy. Coz if what youre saying is true, that full boost is around 2,800 then I want to know what these babies are so I can crank them up , seeing as im only running 0.9 bar. Any one else wanna chime in on when you hit full boost with stock turbos? Thanks
  15. Tank was about a 1/2. And once it cooled down I tool the car out for another drive and the noise is no more. I read somewhere that heat can cause this, at least I know now. Not like oh shit the cars gonna blow up hahah. That's the problem, tried to identify turbos bit need to take all the intake piping off :S. Other than that all I can see is Garrett r.42 m24. Which doesn't say alot :S.
  16. I would consider it after asking him a few questions Who rebuilt the engine? Receipts? Why is he selling so cheap? Why is he selling in general Is it straight? Has it been resprayed? Rust? Does it drive true? Basic things will get you out of buying a complete dud. Then if Im savvy Ill take it to a GTR mechanic for the full inspection. If all is well and car checks out, then youve very likely got a bargain on youre hands
  17. Hey all This is my day which includes the skyline. Sooo... after work Im on my way to Lansvale to go get my new shadow boost gauge. In sydney it was really warm. I think it was 29deg or something. Anyway, im driving the hour it takes to get there. And I feel heatsoak on the car, it was just a hot dry day. I finally get to Lansvale and park in the maccas car park, seeing as I couldnt find the shop I thought I might as well search on foot. I get there reverse myself into a spot away from all other cars, and Im letting the car idle for a little bit, doing my noise check. Noises from a car that appear out of nowhere freak me out. Everytime I hear something new, IM like whats that. Haha. Well a new noise popped up today, this time i thought something was maybe on its last legs. It was a sort of humming in the car, obviously drowned out on the freeway. I did a hearing check all around the car and ruled out the engine bay, yay, and isolated it to under neath the petrol filler, which made sense coz inside the car I climbed on the back seats and pinpointed to the fuel filler. I dont know why it did that, and continued on the way home. Does anybody here think that the fuel pump could hum so loud you could here it in the car? Any way for me to isolate the problem? Also I installed my new boost gauge. I like. especially the fact that I can see how much boost im running, the stock gauge is always past 7. But now I see that im running bang on 13 with no spikes . But I could also finally pin point when I hit full boost. I start building boost at 2,500rpm then I would achieve maximum velocity at 4,000rpm (maybe a little after. The revs jump really fast after 4000 haha, hard to keep my eye on the boost and the speedo. I have had a tune so I thought (only by reading what other people post) 3,500. Or have been mistaken all this time? I saw a white GTT tonight on anzac pde turning at the 711 before alison road. Nice wheel chirpies . Thanks guys. And as usual any help is muchly appreciated.
  18. ^^^^ haha he knows. Gobbies while driving is the bomb. Man I love these one liners
  19. I've been through this too. You have basically covered all the options mate. Personally I like the arc one the best(price wise) if I was going to fork out 600 bux I would go with the nismo dash cluster. There's also the blitz icolor. Doesn't look as pretty as the others.
  20. Haha "suck ma BAWLS". love it. And congrats.
  21. It really can't be that hard can it? Every car that I have driven, you have to be going at low speeds to engage first, and even then 9/10 you can't just shift straight from 2nd to 1st, you have to rev match. Just like if you change from any other gear down, makes the transission so much nicer. I know my box isn't in the greatest condition but it's not that prominent with my driving style. I'm skews rev matching when down shifting. And hardly ever go into first on a roll. But when need be, I can do this. I think practice is in order, seeing as I class myself as a amature. Don't worry about "is it the synchros" just get you're driving style up to par with the car you're driving.
  22. Thank you kindly brett. Thats all I needed to know
  23. I've been searching and searching.... Grrrr, Is the stock oil temp sensor inside the oil filter? Next to it? I'm going crazy haha.
  24. Offset and pictures will help you're cause!
