  4. Hey sau Before you say search and all that usual stuff. I have done my fair share of searching, but would like something more specific. I own a r33 GTR (vspec). I love her. And now with a little more power she is a bit of a killer. . But we all know that power is never enough and you are always left wanting more. I would like to shoot for 350awkw maybe 400. But I believe that alot of money has to be thrown at her to achieve that. Before I start extracting more power, I want to make the engine not go boom on me. I don't want to do a full rebuild as of yet. I don't mind doing a few internals but would like to leave the bottom end stock. Not forever though. Basically I want to replace some parts, that won't completely rob the bank, and make my car that little extra reliable. I will be upgrading turbos in the near future, thinking -5's And going to get a new clutch. Something for daily driving, maybe a cushioned button clutch. Would like to do work to the engine prior to that though. Car won't be tracked regularly. Maybe once a year deal. Does anybody have any advice on my approach to this? Thanks for you're input. Cheers I want to do it right, and not sit around scratching my ass, that's why I'm asking you boffins. .
  5. Hey all Thought Id post this up as a mini DIY for those want to explore. Might have been done before, but I dont know. Delete if not appropriate . So what youll need is: Box cutters Trusty screw drivers Allen keys Masking tape Newspaper Youre assorted spray paint Paint stripper And ofcoarse your trim and valve cover Firstly remove all youre trimming. Its not hard and you can find a relavant DIY for that. Then remove youre valve cover. A little more complex, only because some of the screws are in awkward spots. As you can see, my trim has seen better days, thanks to the rubberised coating peeling. :S. And my valve cover's paint has starting peeling aswell. Firstly you will need to start sanding. Lots of fun (not) and takes the better half of an hour to do. Make sure you start with a coarse sandpaper and then move up to a fine one. Its a bit of a pita, because as soon as the rubbery exterior starts to warm up it just clots. To remove the paint from the valve cover I went to auto one and got some paint stripper. I tried just sanding but scrapped that because it was taking forever to remove the paint. After stripping the paint, give it a nice sand and then it will gleam. But none the less soldier on and all that. And you end up with this. I left it kind of textured, just to see what it would look like once painted (seeing as the paint reflects the base) Now you have to give everything a wipe down with a damp cloth. Get rid off all the dust, and make sure you let it dry before you start painting. I just wiped it with a bit of rag to dry it. After the dust has been removed, its time to mask up all the bits you dont want painted. I masked the metal tally on the engine cover and the heat sink thingy at the rear of the cover. I took all the vents and clock out of the dash, but couldnt remove the mirror adjuster so i just taped it up along with the cigarette lighter. Paint accordingly. I did a few base coats, then let it flash over, added a extra few layers. Let it settle for an hour and added a few more. haha. After you have painted youre bits. Put them in a safe place to dry overnight. I had to put mine in the bathtub because my girlfriend was getting a headache. :S. Make sure you dont have a shower while they are drying in the bathtub if you decide to go down that road. It will ruine the paint. And here you go. Sleeping tightly in the tub. I quite like the textured pattern sort of deal going on with the cover. Hope you like it . Just an added extra. I decided while im at it I might get rid of my yellowy headlights. So I broke out the kittens polish that I had lying around and gave it a shot. Came out not too shabby. I was actually amazed that it came out so well. Thanks guys. Ill post up pics of the cover back on when I do it tomorrow. Hope you liked it .
  6. Well in '95 GTR V-spec is on that list then Im in . I havent checked to see if its a genuine vspec, but I have looked at the rear diff and that had the sink fins. If someone would like to check to see if its genuine then im more than happy if you sent me a pm to check it. Cheers
  7. Hey sau I would just Like to put up that I made 250rwkw at 13psi in my r33 today at mx5 mania with Toshi running the scene. The car made steady 240's and then one 250. . Quite happy with toshi's work. And by reading around I think that's a good figure for a GTR with just a boost controller and cat back exhaust . Cheers guys.
  8. Shipping is not calculated in the taxable amount. You will scrape under if you just keep an eye out for good tires. Yokohama s drives are a good buy and are legal in aus. Not sure how much they cost in 19's but ithink it would be around the 200 mark.
  9. If sale falls through then I'll take them!
  10. They are a uncommon size, like 43mm or something. What you can do (and what I am considering) is get a din gauge holder, comes with 3 holes for 52mm gauges. They don't sit as flush as the stocky, but certainly better than the other ideas I have seen. http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=17281&cat=325&page=1
  11. Haha thanks hekt1k. .

  14. Their website says 1k Is this just a catback? Or does it include front pipes?
  15. Yes if you wanna call them rimzzz. it would be kinda silly asking what tyres on the car now wouldn't it?! And thanks for the geographical layout, it must've passed me by that this was taken in the country!
  16. If you've already driven it and feel comfortable doing the 30k drive, then go for it. Just no sideways hard acceleration etc etc. She'll be right.
  17. In all honesty depends how bad the alignment is. Is it completely pointing in opposite directions? Is pulling hard to one side. Is it just not happy driving straight? How is the toe, castor? If you're wheel alignment isn't all too bad then 30ks won't hurt them too much. As long as you take it easy.
  18. ??? I like them very much. .
  19. There is stuff called rust converter. You can buy it at supercheap. Converts the rust to a paintable primer. Then get some touch up paint and you'll be good. Unless it started to go under the paint then there's no hope.
  20. Hey SAU Just looking for some coilovers in good working order for my GTR. Height adjustable (must) Damper adjustable (not a necessity) If you have any laying around, give me a PM. Location is Sydney. Cheers
