  2. Ok so seeing as I would like a R33 gtr stock ecu. I can only seem to find R32 ecu's. I know they are interchangeable (thanks google) but is their a negative effect to doing this? Basically what Im asking is. Does the car accept this ecu and run smoothly without making me suffer? Youre vast amount of knowledge would be much appreciated. Oh and CRD might have one lying around if Im lucky. God I hope Im lucky haha
  3. Hey guys If anyone has a R33 GTR ECU lying around I would love to purchase it off you. Im located in sydney. Or if you can point me in the right direction that would be wonderful. Ive tried sssautomotive and scowered ebay with no luck. Please call on 040 3568 217 Cheers
  4. Just took down the kick panel to see what ECU Ive got. To my surprise its a MINES ECU. Now it explains why I have a MINES speedo haha. But in any case $300 bucks O.N.O Or I will swap for a stock R33 GTR (v-spec, does that make a difference?) ECU and a 100 bucks. Or if you can help point a brother in the right direction, PM me or call 040 3568 217. Location Sydney. Cheers Guys
  5. Thanks mate . Hope all goes well this weekend. Im sure it will run smoothly. And I am going back to Motul X-Cess. Used that stuff in my GTI. Loved it to bits. Hope it does the same for the GTR.
  6. Hey all This weekend I will be servicing my GTR. Only owned it for a week but will do this for piece of mind and see if I can bump my fuel consumption up. So far I have this planned Engine oil - Royal purple 10w40 Gearbox oil - between Castrol Syntrans 75w85 or Penrite 75w with Nulon G70 additive Spark plugs. Dont know which ones, copper plugs I think, no iridium for me. Clean AMF with brake cleaner And check airfilter. Then wash and wax that baby. Anything else which would be easy that you guys can recommend. Or maybe just recommend me either a gearbox oil or a spark plug? Cheers guys And stay posted, I will be updating this on completion and tell you how she runs. Well here she is as well .
  7. Thanks mate. I would check all of this out myself. But Im only getting the car on thursday. Ill definately have a look then.
  8. Hey SAU. Before you flame me you might like to know that I have spent an entire day searching google, and I even went through every single DIY on this forum and found nada. For a R33 GTR All I would like to know is, can I buy a aftermarket boost gauge and use the stock hardware and then mount it in the stock position? If this is possible what gauge would I need to utilize? i.e defi, blitz and is the gauge 52mm? Thank you all
  9. Or go pearlescent colour.
  10. I'll be buying one from Victoria. A good mechanic would be much appreciated. It is actually a very good idea to get a mechanic to do a once over.
  11. Very helpful thank you
  12. haha... thats ok
  13. Thought Id start a proper thread. I have been doing alot of reading on the R33. I mean a lot of reading. A big war between GTST and GTR. Luckily I think I know what I want. Down to my questions. If a GTR has been looked after, and I do the same. Will it spit in my face and give me problems? Basically what Im asking is, seeing as these cars are getting quite a few k's on them now, are they reliable. I know the RB26 is one strong mother. When I inspect a car, proper visual inspection of body, common rust spots, and engine bay, Is it safe to presume that if its clean and passes a compression test and she drives well, that all is well? I was also thinking of getting a mechanic to give it a once over. Also will any oil leakage or anything like that be noticeable if I take it for a drive and then inspect it? (just incase the person spent a lot of hours cleaning all the goop off) thanks for youre time (and sorry if you think im waisting it) Jacques

First I need to sell my GTI. :S Thanks And I hope to soon be here with a clean R33.
