  1. I never checked to be honest. Ran it with the RB20 and standard RB25 turbo for 2 years without a problem at all. Trent got it all tuned today but the wastegate still slightly fouls on the dump pipe May have to get a die grinder out and fix up the dump.

  3. JJR bell mouth from Justjap will set you back around $170 from memory. It is a much much better choice.
  4. How long do the drifts last, has QR got lights or does it only run for an hour or two? Will have to sort out a membership soon then Motorkhanas are always fun as well, I'm just keen to drive the damn thing now hahah
  5. Hey all, I may be moving to Brisbane later on in the year and I was just wondering how active the drift scene is up there. I know archer field run a night every week as far as I know but that's just a small gokart track. How often does QIR hold drift and/or track days? Have almost finished building my car and can't wait to get as much track time under my belt as possible! Thanks
  6. Cheers dude, can't wait to get my hands on thing thing. Pick it up next weekend hopefully! Also purchased VY SS ute that i'm picking up next weekend as well hahah. Safe to say i pretty f**king keen!
  7. I am surprised how well the stock 34 GTR wheels suit the 33. Also the millenium jade bronze colour of the wheels suits the red of the car.
  8. I think the redline lightweight is for gearbox's but the heavyweight is for diff's. My mate runs heavyweight in his standard R200 VLSD and has zero issues with it *shrugs*
  9. the threads on what?
  10. You take standard turbo off, send it off get it high flowed and it bolts straight back in and looks 100% standard.
  11. You obviously don't know much about country Victorians do you? Have seen a falcon wagon with the boot almost fully submerged just to get a dinghy off hahaha
  12. As you can see if the stud is too long (which mine is) would foul on the flapper and you will lose all boost control, hence 30psi haha
  13. I think stao managed to nut out the problem. I purchased brand new bolts for the dump pipe and I didn't cut them down to size as I didn't think it would really matter as they just went straight into the turbo housing flange thingy haha. But the top right hand bolt has to be cut down to correct size otherwise it fouls on the wastegate flapper and keeps it closed which is what is happenings to mine. Will upload a pic in a second.
  14. Haha fair enough. I'm sure when I hear it I will just be like, yep, that's pinging alright. Also make sure you have a good quality radiator and a a decent water/coolant mix with good quality coolant and preferably demineralised water (better but not a necessity). I think you will be surprised how well a stockish car that uses good quality oil and coolant, and has a good oil and water cooling setup will last even when thrashing it at track/drift days. Use a little common sense and keep it off the limiter, and I can almost guarantee that you will get a few years of hard driving from it before something major happens
  15. I might look stupid for saying this, but I 100% agree. I haver never been in a car that has pinged and I would love to know what it actually sounds like. I understand how detrimental it can be to an engine and being able to hear it and know what that means is a very good preventative measure and could save you an engine rebuild. I just assume that it would be a fairly audible noise and would present itself as a decent loss in power/acceleration.
  16. I ended up purchasing the ute anyway. Will probably get the Haymen Reece heavy duty 1600 or 2100 tow bar. I never had any doubts it wouldn't tow it, just wanted to see how we'll it would.
  17. No worries mate will get onto Trent tomorrow and see what he says about it. Thanks.
  18. Im not really sure mate didn't get much info bar the wastegate having no boost control. I will mension this to him tomorrow and see what he has to say and report back Annoying only finding it once it went onto the dyno
  19. Yeah mate i have been calling him with no response as well..... not surprised that it's not done yet to be honest. Also i fitted my SS2 internal gate to my car and dump and it appeared it was all fine but trent from chequred tuning just tried to tune my caar and said the wastegate flap is getting stuck closed as it is fouling on the dump pipe. My dump pipe is a JJR Bellmouth item exactly the same as this http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=18178 Has anyone had an issue with this before, as i cannot remember reading about it anywhere. Just wanting to make sure it is this before i pay to have it fixed and find it's not the issue. Trent said he ran it up on the dyno and it went straight to 30psi hahahaha any help/advice appreciated!

  21. Pictures would be a huge help.

  23. Yes this did get fixed. It ended up being an issue with the wiring loom conversion. I can't remember exactly what the problem was, may have been something to do with the TPS from memory.
