Hey all, after having a chat to Stao today I am tossing up between the SS2 or the new 3.5G Has anyone got a dyno graph of SS2 on 98 internally gated on standard manifold? Thanks

Was probably imported in 98 and says it in the compliance plate. On mine it says "Manufactured by *importers name* in 1998"

Parts For A 250Kw Neo
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
He admitted he hadn't worked with any Injector Dynamics injectors before, and he worked with a customers car the other day that was using 1000cc injectors and had massive idle problems. -
Parts For A 250Kw Neo
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Talking to Matt @ NIStune about my ECU and injectors. He was saying that 1000cc injectors would be overkill and that the engine wouldn't idle and would be very hard to tune. I said that I was planning on using Injector Dynamics 1000's and that lots of people had reported no idle problems with them, and some people (Piggaz etc) said even the 2000's are fine at idle. Just wanting to see if anybody is running ID1000's on an RB25 with a NIStune before I change my injector choice. Thanks all. -
R32 Hicas Removal
iruvyouskyrine replied to ThePimp's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
With the engine out it took me about 4 hours to do, but that was doing other stuff simultaneously. As GTSBoy said, it would be a real pain in the ass to do with the intake plenum being there. Don't be too disheartened though, its a great feeling to know you will never have to deal with it again! -
Weird High Pitch Sound When Indicating
iruvyouskyrine replied to xntrq's topic in General Maintenance
Lol'ing at relating it to a postie bike Does it alternate with the indicator (ie does it stop and start) or is it constant while you have the indicator on? I would suggest the flasher unit itself if alternating but could be a number of things if constant. -
Hi all, I purchased an RB25DET Neo motor, and upon pickup I found that there was water sitting inside the valley between the cam covers. The spark plugs were completely submerged, so I dried it out as best I could, and turned the motor upside down to remove the spark plugs hoping any excess water would fall out if there was any. None came out but the plugs were really difficult to get out, and were coveted in corrosion, I think the threads in the head also have crap in them from the corrosion on the plugs. When I took the plugs out I looked into the combustion chamber as best I could and grabbed a few pics. As you can see there appears to be a circle (approx 1cm in diameter) on top of the piston where water looks like it may have leaked into the chamber. It is only like this on the first 2 pistons. The others all look similar (a rough black surface which I guess is just normal carbon buildup?) Is that something to be worried about? This is my first time stripping/freshening up an engine so I'm not really sure what standard practice would be. I don't particularly want to take the head off but I will if I have to. Also there is some black crap on the intake side of the head. What would be the best way to clean up that and the valley where the spark plugs sit? Thanks.

Parts For A 250Kw Neo
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks mate they were on the main page, not in the Nissan section. I want the plugs and clips option yeah? About the cam gear, if I can pick up an exhaust cam gear for cheap still not worth it? I'd like to have response as close to stock as possible and thought a cam gear may aid this. -
Parts For A 250Kw Neo
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Looks like my parts should get me in the ballpark of 260kw then. Having a read on the forums everyone seems to love the ID1000's, but with the link i posted they don't have the 3/4 length (48mm) option listed? Is there a direct fit ID1000 available for the NEO engine or will i have to use the 60mm ones and modify something else on the fuel rail or connectors? (Sorry, i have never playued around with injecotrs before and there seems to be limited direct fit NEO options) http://www.t1racedevelopment.com/index.php/en/products/details/1149/153/injector-dynamics/id1000/nissan/injector-dynamics-1000cc-injectors--r32,-r33,-r34-skyline-14mm.html Thinking a bit more about the build and was just wondering how beneficial cam gears are on the NEO. I know that RB25's have variable cam timing on the inlet cam so would i leave the stock cam gear and just use a variable gear on the exhaust cam? Thanks. -

Where did you mount your cooler, in the front l/h guard where the standard SMIC would be? -
R32 Hicas Removal
iruvyouskyrine replied to ThePimp's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am about to do this too using an R34 P/S pump. I should also be able to run my setup like this shouldn't i as the 34 pump wont have any extra hicas bullshit haha. Is the p/s fluid cooling loop near the radiator required? -
Parts For A 250Kw Neo
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Are these the ones that you mean? They seem to be the full length ones, I thought NEO's use the 3/4 length injectors? http://www.t1racedevelopment.com/index.php/en/products/details/1149/153/injector-dynamics/id1000/nissan/injector-dynamics-1000cc-injectors--r32,-r33,-r34-skyline-14mm.html I was already running an R32 GTR cooler and pod filter so that's sorted. Yeah I'm planning on ripping as much of the Hicas out this weekend as possible, just going to follow one of the tutorials on here. With the engine mounts I didn't realise they were 2 seperate pieces. So I will buy new VL rubber mounts, and use the 32 steel outer part. And I'm looking to keep everything as standard as possible, so no external gate haha -
Hey all, I am in the process of putting an RB25DET Neo into my R32 gts-t and i just have a few questions about which parts i should be using. First off this will be my daily (but i will only be driving it 2-3 times a week), but i will be taking it to as many track/drift days as i can, at which i will most probably drive it very hard haha. I am looking for reliability more than a maximum power figure at the moment, but anywhere between 240-270kw i will be happy with as long as it is a very safe tune. In saying that i would like to purchase parts that give me the ability to push 300-330+kw if i change the turbo/manifold set up later on. I have broswed the forums for ages and have put together a list of what i think should keep me happy, but i would love some feedback/second opinions. RB25DET NEO Hypergear Hi-Flow (probably looking at the SS2PU or ATR43G2.5 or G3) JJR Bellmouth 3" Dump pipe Full 3" exhaust Z32 AFM Splitfire coilpacks Pod filter R32 GTR FMIC Supporting Mods: NEO NIStune ECU Greddy Profec B spec 2 EBC New Nissan thermostat Full gasket kit (minus headgasket) Replace under plenum water hoses My questions are about Injectors and fuel pump. I am tossing up between Siemens DEKA 630cc, or DeatschWerks 850cc. A few people on the forums use the Siemens, but i was wondering if they would give me enough head room to push 330kw+ Both are direct fit, just after people opinions/reasons why i should choose one over the other. Also would the DeatschWerks be large enough to support E85 if i eventually wet down that path? Also which fuel pump should i fit. The two that i have chosen are the Walbro GSS-341 (255l/ph) or the newer Walbro 400l/ph E85 compatible pump. After a lot of reading most people seem to agree that neither of these pumps have fuel pickup issues in an R32 gts-t fuel tank. Also one other question, what engine mounts should i use when putting the NEO in the 32? The normal RB20DET ones or do i use NEO ones? Thanks!

Decided to take the turbo off because i wanted to get it looked at as it was starting to blow a little blue smoke. Turned out to be okay so back on it went. It was off the road for about a month and i put it all back together by myself on a cold winter night. Didnt have anyone to help me put the bonnet back on so i decided to go for a quick skid with no bonnet. Needless to say popped a cooler pipe off 5 minutes from home with no tools and no bonnet just as it started to rain. Doh! Had a big change in my life at this point as i joined the Air Force. So i packed up all my shit and moved off to Wagga Wagga in NSW. I finished recruits and my first posting is here, so i am here till November this year. Not much has happened with it since i have been here, i have done one drift day which the car performed faultlessly at. Was at Winton Raceway and holy shit it was one of the most fun things i have ever done. I went to look at buying an R33 and on the way home the 32 shit its power steering pump. I then decided it was time to give the old girl the upgrade it deserved, so i wheeled it into the shed and there it has sat ever since. I have purchased an RB25DET Neo and some other goodies for it. I have some decent cash now so i am going to do this build once and do it right, and i'm planning to do as much of it myself as possible. Full spec list is as follows; RB25DET Neo RB25DET Neo Gearbox Hypergear Hi-Flow turbo Siemens 630cc injectors Walbro fuel pump Half cage Bride bucket seats NIStune Full 3" stainless straight through exhaust with 3.5" single tip NPC 10" carbotic clutch R32 GTR radiator While i have the Neo out i will alsop be doing a full gasket kit, changing a lot of under plenum hoses and possibly doing the timing belt and water pump. (engine has 137xxx k's on it and timing belt and water pump were both done at 100000, should i do them now?) If anyone sees any problems with any of the above feel free to let me know! The most mechanical work i have done is replacing the clutch on this car before, but i am very keen to learn and get my hands dirty in the process so i'm hoping to do 99% of the build myself Sorry in advance because i know i will be asking a lot of questions from you guys! This is the car as it sits now. Sorry for the long winded post, but it's good to finally get it out there! I made this thread to give me some motivation to keep the build going, as i am studying buttloads at the moment! So if it has gone a few weeks without any activity make sure you let me know about it as i do get lazy haha. Thanks for looking, Josh PS sorry for the triple post i kept hitting the image limit XD
