Passenger Headlight Sometimes Not Working?
iruvyouskyrine replied to Dylaan's topic in General Maintenance
Yep mine is always the same (r32), should really find out the problem, but i would guess it is a just a loose connection somewhere in the headlights. I hope its not what moodles said, changing a terminal sounds much easier haha. -

Hey guys, Bought some new wheels for my 32 gts-t, 18x9.5+23 and +15 they are on brand new 225/40/18 rubber The +23 go on the front no worries at all, but the +15 on the rear is not even close to fitting haha, the guards need to be flared. So im after preferably someone in south east SA, but adelaide is fine as well. It doesnt bother me if its a shop or a cash job by someone on here, all i need is the guards flared and to look nice, i understand the paint will probably crack/peel off and thats okay, just as long as the guards are flared well and aren't rippled etc. Let me know ASAP, thanks!

So How Do I Want To Setup My Catch Can?
iruvyouskyrine replied to Hadouken's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As far as i know its only the 26 that has that on there, i know my 20 doesn't and i'm fairly confident the 25 doesn't either. I highly suggest you read this, as it has pretty much all the answers to your questions http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/314402-project-rb31dett-the-development-of-my-open-deck-rb-engine-and-the-quest-for-more-torque/page__view__findpost__p__6039475 -
Few Questions About My Rb20
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ahk sweet, didn't know that 300ZX's came OP6 as well, doesnt really matter what it's off, seems to be in good condition! And i dont think there should be that much oil in the intake should there, seems very excessive to me -

iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ah so OP6 does not strictly mean its from a 34 GT-T? I have a feeling that this would have come off a GT-T thought because it has practically zero shaft play vertically/horizontally and about 1mm at the most forwards/backwards. Yeah thats what my understanding is, but what is causing it is more my issue haha. -

iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Okay, i got the turbo off, can anyone confirm that it is from a R34 GT-T? Im sure it is because of the OP6 rear housing, pics can be found Here! After doing a bit more reading i can answer some of your questions, yes i am still running the stock PCV and lines. I was talking to one of my mates and he was saying that blowing the dip stick out is commonly cause by a blocked/stuffed PCV, and that i should check and clean the PCV. So i took it out and cleaned it with carby cleaner. Do i have to take the rocker cover breathers off and clean them as well? If so ho do you take them off, do they unscrew from the rocker cover? My PCV is still set up like factory ie; PCV into intake manifold --> drivers rocker cover --> link to passenger rocker cover --> turbo intake after afm Hopefully cleaning the PCV and lines will sort the issue, car is going in for a leakdown test on thursday anyway, gives me an idea of how healthy the engine is (: -
Both!

This is caused by having no cat, not really sure what causes it,would just be unburnt fuel or something similar igniting in the exhaust system methinks.

Few Questions About My Rb20
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ahhhh, the 'ol 20 vs 25 thread again hey? SHould have seen this coming Have been away for the past few weeks so just got back and stuck into it. Compression test results were; 1 - 140 2 - 140 3 - 137 4 - 140 5 - 142 6 - 140 I understand that to be a farily healthy RB20? Hardly any variance between the cylinders would indicate that its just an older engine wearing evenly? The cluster has 180xxx on it so i think its about right. Should i get a leakdown test done as well if there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the compression test? When pulling off the throttle body intake pipe to do the compression test i noticed lots of oil in there, sorry for all the noob questions but what does having oil in your intake pipes mean? Surely it cant be a good thing haha, f**ked turbo seals? There was also one other thing i found when poking around in the engine bay, all the turbo->manifold nuts had come undone, even with locking tabs! So i decided i will pull the turbo off to have a look at it to decide how healthy it is. It will be good to know in what sort of condition everything is before i go stupid with the mods and find my engine or turbo is in shit confition! Will post pics of said turbo when its off It got 6 new BCPR6ES about 5 months ago and had not been having any issues. I did finally get the coilpack issue sorted out and it was a dead #4 coilpack. As i dont have lots of money to throw around at the moment i just bought a single coilpack off my mate and next time one goes will get some yellowjackets. All six plugs looked like this, i have no idea if its running lean or not, anyone here know? Yes, i am using oil haha. It got brand new fully synthetic Penrite 15-w40 the same time as spark plugs, so about 5 months ago. No i dont run a catch can or anything like that, and im not sure what the PCV is, is the the breather hose looking things on the top of the cam covers? What do they do/where are they supposed to run to? And it was only smokey after coming off boost. It goes up to 14psi and then drops to about 13-13.5psi I have had a quick look at the ECU before but didnt open it up or anything like that, will get some pics up here for you Nope standard cams as far as i am aware haha, sounds nucking futs but im sure it cant be good for it haha What difference does the 17" v 18" wheels make, just moves the power curve backwards on the dyno sheet? IE your doing less speed when making the same power, or does it add more/less power to your graph when it's not really there? PS, sorry if this post is all over the place, just woke up from and big night haha -
Wow travis, i love it! Looks different to any 32 GTR i have ever seen. The combination of skirts, front bar and wheels look porn! what wheels are they?
-
Hahaha, love the handbrake/gear boot

Few Questions About My Rb20
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yep was going to do a compression test this weekend and see what the results were, and if one was down do a leakdown test to see what the problem is, headgasket, rings etc. Hopefully it is just a headgasket -
Hey guys, first a bit of background information '92 r32 gts-t rb20det 175,xxx km rb25 neo OP6 turbo running 14psi 3' straight through exhaust Car has what i presumed was a standard ECU, as when i put the stright pipes in there would be some black smoke coming on to boost. I know there is more than with a standard cat back, but there did seem to be a lot. Buuuut, the car has no problem revving out to 8300-8500 revs, and i thought the stock rb20det limiter was 7750? Have had the car for about 5 months now and has started giving me no major trouble until this past week. Go back about 2 months ago and i was travelling home from tailem bend, had done about 150 k's and then all of a sudden it dropped a cylinder, sounded like a WRX etc. Pulled over and had a look under the bonnet, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It was about a 41 degree day and i have hear some stories of the ignitor overheating so i though i would let it cool down and see how it goes. Went into the pub and had a drink, come back out and it was fine for the other 400k's. Just thought it was a one off thing and ignored it. Now come last week i was just driving around town and it did it again. left it overnight and it was fine, then the next day did it again, so i started investigating. Borrowed an ignitor from my mate and it was still missing so ruled that out. borrowed 5 of his coilpacks and left one of mine in to try and find out which coilpack it was. thought i had it narrowed down to my #4 coilpack, so completely taped it up in electrical tape and thought it solved it, but now a week later it is still missing, and i am still using my taped coilpack plus my mates coilpacks i know are 100% working. Any ideas on what else it could be, maybe a shit plug from running rich? Also another problem which i think should be my main concern >.< The car blows copious amounts of white smoke. Like, shittones. When you lift off from high revs/on boost plumes of white smoke come out the exhaust, it looks like you are doing a dirty big skid. Also does this when you hit the rev limiter. The dipstick often comes out of its tube as well when you are thrashing it. So after a bit of reading i am thinking one of the piston rings may be f**ked? The compressed fuel/air in the cylinder is leaking pas the piston ring and blowing the dipstick out? Could that have somehting to do with the white smoke as well? That's about the only explanation i can give, hopefully you guys can help some more (: Thanks guys!
