  1. If it wasn't doseing when it was imported from Japan (land of the rising sun) then you can't make it dose over here. It's a special thing the Japanese do to them before shipping them to us. Sorry!
  2. An RB20 with an ebay turbo and a massive plenum like that, it's going to be a very laggy 300hp. But hey you knew what you were getting yourself into and seen to be happy with it so go for it. Good choice ditching the SAFC for a real ECU, now you just have to do the same with the turbo
  3. SimonS14 had a first hand account of someone spitting a shim. It would do about as much damage as leaving a 20c piece under your cam covers would as that's pretty much what is happening.
  4. 28v29 spline iirc. After playing with nissans for 5-6 years doing countless engine swaps and conventions and putting shit where it was never designed to go. I can easily say my least favourite job is mixing and matching diff parts between R200's. From a quick look everything seems to go back together but there is always little stuff that f**ks it and it never works. IE, some cars (you never really know what has what) have different size bolts for the crown wheel, some have different splined half shafts, some have longer and shorter half shafts etc. there is so many variables that you have to get correct for it to work. Mixing and matching parts between R200's I would rate 1/10. Would rather punch myself repeatedly in the dick than do it again.
  5. DET and DE same loom. Switch ECU's and should start first turn of the key.
  6. 5 years, 7 cars, 12 timing belts, zero problems. Must be a pretty good guess.
  7. Or in my case, thrown the belt on, didn't use the spring, check cams align with timing marks, use Hex key to tension the belt to however tight I felt like setting it, torque up tensioner, stand back look at it and say "she'll be right" and it's good.
  8. Usually it's around the LCA mounts. Have seen it on 2 different cars.
  9. No they don't.
  10. Also have one here.
  11. Nice to see an easy fix after so many problems. Bit of a weird one but got there in the end
  12. Yep use key words 'greddy plenum r33 r34 neo IACV' But search on Google and use the site:sau.com.au function
  13. I'm sure this info has been posted about using R33 IACV on a 34 on this forum before. Search and you will find it I'm sure mate.
  14. Won't worry about a mod plate, will just keep paying to clear defects. Will be keeping it street for a while and just see what happens with it also a quick vid from the wet pan day.
  15. Can be done on jackstands. Give all the bushes a look over while you are under there. If any of the boots are split its time to replace them. It's pretty straightforward, just time consuming. I recommend putting on beers and getting some mates over.
  16. Bit of a thread revival. Have done 2 drift days since and replaced cam seals. Finally got the thing registered again after getting defected in feb. Cant believe i went so long without driving it on the road. Will try and get some pics and vids up from the last few drift days and some general pics up. Also moved house and now have a new shed setup. But most importantly i also bought another 32 haha, couldnt help myself! R32 gtst with a S1 RB25 making 340kw at the treads.
  17. Not true. Both Jez in NSW and Trent from chequered tuning in VIC gave my car a comprehensive test before tuning and both were genuinely trying to find faults that would have significant consequences on the dyno. I know this is part of their dyno fee but still I feel that they really wanted to do their best work on the car and make it as good of a tune as possible. It didn't feel like other tuners where I have been and they just get the customer to drop the car off, roll it straight on the dyno and start tuning without even a quick look under the bonnet for obvious problems. Tune it and then drive it off and the customer takes it away. Might sound like a plug for trent and jez but I was thoroughly impressed by both and there is still tuners out there who actually genuinely care about their customers and workmanship. Two of the nicest people I have met too.
  18. Oh okay. Sorry I can't be of help. Have you got a wire in or plug in haltech?
  19. What ben said. WTF is cts.
  20. Will fit any RB. 20/25/26/30.
  21. Pretty sure there is only 150 +/- 30kg difference between s13/14 and r32/33. Yes they aren't as long but that really doesn't matter that much at all. Not for daily driver anyway. All turbo S chassis and R chassis came with what is described as an LSD and probably was for the first few years of its like. Most non turbo S/R chassis cars came with open centres. GTR's came with mechanical LSD.
  22. How much do you supply these for scotty? In after another one.
  23. If you can't find one you can always see if anyone is throwing out any busted gearboxes and pinch the input shaft out of them to use, that's what I use and it was free for me
