Also my car will be getting tuned soon. 25/30 on E85 with just a single in tank 400lp/h feeding it. Will report back how it goes.

Yep Scotty is on the money. I have the E85 safe Walbro and it's dead silent.

^^ Are you joking? CA18DE auto powerhouse.

First Time Engine Build. Rb25/30 Neo Advice
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don't plan on driving it anywhere, just up and down my driveway and get it idling in the shed to check everything. I was always going to tow it to the tuner. Interesting to hear Ben, will crank it and see if it fires up, if it looks like it's not going to I will just leave it to the tuner. -
Yeah it's so much stuff when it is all laid out on the bench like that haha. Pretty stoked with the progress at the moment even if my wallet is not. Hey man thanks, this is honestly something i should have thought about earlier but it is too late now. Plenty of people have made over 400kw with 3" (and mine is completely straight through, no mufflers/cat/resonators at all!) so i don't think it will be a limitation. Plus im not shooting for power like that anyway! The rear housing adapter Tao provides only has a 3" outlet so i don't need anything ridiculous, besides, it's too late now anyway haha. Exactly right, no point in having 3" dump (as that is my exhaust housing outlet size) and a 3.5" or larger exhaust. I found the V-Bands pretty easy to align and get on, that was with two people though. One person might be harder but how often do you take your exhaust off? And surely you can find one mate to give you a hand hahah. Exactly the reason i want one! I try to be as reasonable as possible as i know i wouldn't appreciate it. Unfortunately due to time and money constraints this idea was ditched, but it is something i would like to try and incorporate in the future. Once the car is up and running i will get something sorted, i think it is a pretty good idea for a common problem.

First Time Engine Build. Rb25/30 Neo Advice

Okay so it's getting closer. Anyone know exactly what part of the fuel map i have to change to get this thing running. ECU is NISTune and it was running the Neo before it popped. Literally the only thing that has changed is it now has a 3 litre bottom end and will be running E85 not 98. I don't want to go thrash the tits off it, just want to get it started and idling, will be keeping it in vacuum, better to be safe than sorry! Will go off to get tuned eventually just want to make sure nothing explodes before i take it to the dyno haha. -
You mean lower cylinder temps so less thermal expansion of the piston? I'm just curious, never built an engine or anything i just like knowing how things work.

How does E85 affect what piston to bore clearance you want?

In that case they are on par with turbosmart/TiAL

Cmoney's R32 Gts-T
iruvyouskyrine replied to cmoney's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Yeah mate, I can understand being confused about it if you didn't know that little bit of info When you have the car back on the ground and ebbing, stick it in neutral and rev it, will hardly build any boost same as on the jackstands. -
R33 Gtst Bay Clean Up? Efficiency? Help Please!

If you look carefully you can see it actually says 'splitfire' not 'spitfire'. A noticeable thing straight away is that they have replaced coilpack cover with the gayest thing I have seen in a long time. -
Cmoney's R32 Gts-T

If the wheels are not on the ground then the car will not make boost. It needs load (the action of trying to move 1500kg of metal) to make boost. That's why it's hard to make full boost before redline in first and boost builds quickly in third/fourth. Drop it off jacks and as soon as you drive it around, your boost will magically reappear! -
Gts-T Wiring And Eventual Wire Tuck
iruvyouskyrine replied to Jordie Lewis's topic in General Maintenance
Plugs 1 and 5 are indicators, plug 7 is coolant temp sensor. The easiest way is to put the loom in and see what plug ends up near what item -
Very easy to tell the difference between real and fake mate. The quality of the casting is a dead giveaway, the fakes are a bit rough with uneven dimples (for lack of a better word), and there is plenty of dags. The genuine ones have a very smooth and consistent casting and look much nicer.

What AFM mate? And what voltage is it at? Thanks

He said 98 in the other thread.
-
Neo has the bar type sensor and has 6 wires.
-
Have a look at the wiring diagrams for both. If start with the ECU plug pinout. If every wire matches up then look at the wiring diagram and see if it matches. If any of the ECU pinouts are different then some level of modification of the loom has to happen (be it simple or difficult)

Thermo Fans Conversion; Temperature Range?
iruvyouskyrine replied to Faawks's topic in General Maintenance
The above is correct, if the viscous hub works properly which in my experience is not very often on most skylines nowdays.
