Standard for R32/RB20 is 10psi Can safely handle 20+psi in standard form (not with standard turbo obviously) General consensus around here is 14psi is considered reasonably safe for standard turbo (could last days or years, no one can say)

He has multiple threads asking about TD05's and TD06's so you would assume he's not retarded enough to put a ProMod88 on an RB20. That said I would love to see it done.

A completely standard unopened RB20DET laughs at a mere 18psi. I would only look at chaning to ARP studs in a 20 if i was running 28+ psi. Seen plenty of unopened 20's run 25+ psi no stress.

What's a rough cost of the list you have there mate? Let me know how you get on as I am considering it Thanks

Hi all, What purpose does the plug on the side of the altenator serve? On my RB25 swapped R32 it wasn't connected to anything. One side ran back to the fuse box but the other side ran to a plug that wasn't connected anywhere. I'm thinking about just not using the plug to tidy up the wiring. I thought it might give the ECU a readout of the voltage it's producing but it went to the body loom not the ECU. Then I though maybe it has a battery voltage indicator in the dash but it doesn't. So not really sure what purpose it serves haha. Cheers

Questions About Exhaust And Resonators
iruvyouskyrine replied to yoshiii335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
5 inch is a complete waste of time and money unless you are making 1000+ hp. But to answer your question, if it is a decent muffler then no matter the size (within reason) it will not be that restrictive at all. -

Will Nsw Police Care About A High Mount Turbo Set Up?
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in New South Wales
That is my attitude to pretty much everything in life haha! I think you are correct saying that i will get pulled over for something else and then get reamed. I have never in 4 years of owning an import been pulled over in it let alone have the police look in the engine bay. What kind of questions do they ask you or do they usually just fine/defect you straight away? I am glad to have no knowledge of how this process works haha The other things that i am unsure of > I have a bolt in half cage, had a quick look on the RMS website rules and regs for modifying vehicles but couldn't find anything about roll cages > Car is still regoed in SA as i only recently moved to NSW, and i plan to keep it registered there because rego is so cheap! Not sure if NSW can defect an interstate vehicle? I assume they can but im not sure what the process is if i do get defected. Maybe i just have to pass a blue slip inspection? -
Hi all, My car is getting a High mount turbo set up, also 45mm Hypergate. All air con parts have been removed as well and will be plugging up all the holes in the firewall with rubber grommets. My questions is how many people have been pulled over by the police and let go with a high mount turbo set up? My engine bay will be very tidy and not flashy at all (read no chrome anything or red/blue speedflow fittings) everything will also be neutral colours, ie black/silver/grey. Will also be running an oil cooler and power steering cooler, not sure if these will sit behind the FMIC or in behind the front bar vents. If you don't know anything about skylines you really shouldn't be able to tell that it is really quite a serious track car. I understand that it really comes down to the police officer that is looking at it, but anyone have any thoughts on whether i will be let go? Thanks

First Time Engine Build. Rb25/30 Neo Advice
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The standard Neo rail will bolt right up to it. I never tried to put standard injectors in so i'm not sure if they will fit. I am using an Aeroflow rail and X-Spurt 1000cc top feed injectors and its all good. Just need to make a spacer to put in between the plenum and rail to space it out for the length of injector you will be using, that's the real trick. Any old rail should bolt up it's just the length of spacer you have to get correct. Cheers mate, feels good to be making some decent progress and everything turning out exactly like i had pictured it in my head. Cannot wait to drive it though! Have a private drift day on the 23 August that i would love to attend but i'm off to NZ for two weeks so i don't think i will make it unfortunately. Should be tuned in the next 4-5 weeks though -
First Time Engine Build. Rb25/30 Neo Advice
iruvyouskyrine replied to iruvyouskyrine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yep found that out. Had to remove it to be able to drop the engine in. Already have on lined up Yeah, so happy with my decision to paint the engine bay. The silver looks really good imo. Yeah the forward facing plenum is so much better aesthetically, how they should have come from factory IMO. The engine still sits quite high, i explained it in my post in the projects/builds section. Will get a side on pic of it to show how high it sits for you. We quickly dropped the bonnet on and it seems like it will fit if i cut the ribbing out from the underside of the bonnet -
Boost gauge, boost controller, fuel reg, MAP sensor.etc, anything that needs a pressure/vacuum source. Yes large one on rear of plenum goes to brake booster.

Legitimate P Plate Modification
iruvyouskyrine replied to thatpplater's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The only turbo nissan NSW P platers can drive (as of 1st August) is the aus delivered 200SX (ala S15) This is my mates old car. R34 4 Door, RB25DE manual. He drove the pants off it and it was all legal. -
Not really mate, .82 will easily make the power you want and some but comparing it to a .78 you would hardly notice IMO. Unfortunately i can't comment on its pairing with the .5 A/R compressor housing, wait for Lithium or Disco to weigh in before you make any decisions though, they are the resident Guru's

I never thought i would have the time, money or knowledge either! But then i found SAU and just started reading everything possible. Then when i killed my Neo i had plenty of time to read up. After all the reading i had the knowledge, and because so much time had passed i now had the money hahah I just love knowing how things work and love having a crack at whatever presents itself. Every single thing on the car has been done by myself with no formal training at all, just a can do attitude and the internet haha. It's such a good feeling when you complete something that not long ago you would have never believed possible.

Eh, i have given up on trying to make dates as to when stuff will be completed. It always makes me sad when they come and go haha. Realistically sometime in October but if the stars align hopefully as early as september

Legitimate P Plate Modification
iruvyouskyrine replied to thatpplater's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I had both a 2 door and a 4 door when i was on my P's and i hated the impracticality my R32 coupe gave me. For someone who will drive around heaps with their mates i think 4 door is king. Plus i also think the 4 door R34's look better, but that of course is totally subjective! Manuel Kasko is also correct, the 4 door's are generally cheaper to as they are not as sought after. He is also correct about the power. Don't expect anything amazing though and you won't be dissapointed. Get yourself a manual variety and i can guarantee you will have plenty of fun in it And you know what they say about 4 doors? 4 Doors for more......... door handles. -
.82 or .73 if garrett offer it. I knows its available on Mistu turbo's.

Legitimate P Plate Modification
iruvyouskyrine replied to thatpplater's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I would recommend an R34 4 door. Not sure how they go in N/A form but they are reasonably functional and look great! Parts are reasonably priced and there is plenty of legal modifications that can be done to keep the automotive enthusiast side of you happy. No idea on the price of them though. The RB25DE is an excellent motor (for a 2.5 N/A six cylinder) and is stupidly reliable. -
