  1. nvm that question, you can just rotate one of the cranks right? it doesnt have to be the balancer?
  2. ok, is there anyway to check the alignments without having to remove the radiatior or clutch fan? or is impossible to do it that way?
  3. hey guys, ive got a 1996 r33 s2. about 5 months ago (i know its too late to be posting now but better late than sorry i guess) i changed the water pump myself, using an online guide. Now being an idiot i missed the part where it says to align everything before taking off the timing belt. i only realised later. so i didnt move anything at all, and called a mate of mine (he knew his stuff). he came to check after i put everything back together. so he turned the harmonic balancer by hand basically and said it should be fine, but the timing belt might be off by 1 or 2 teeth. so i turned on the car and everything was fine, and am still driving it to this day. my question is, is the only way of checking if everything is alright is by taking it to a dyno? and if i did lose performance, is there a way to align things back to normal without spending thousands? basically i have to take everything off again right?
  4. turbo timer actually is illegal.
  5. no its a manual one. what about the turbo timer? is there any way to hide that?
  6. ok thanks!

  8. hey guys, ive got a r33 s2 thats tuned to 200 rwkw. i was defected over the weekend , and just wondering, can i just take off things like the pod filter and boost controller straight away? or does it have to be detuned to stock boost before taking off anything?
  9. just wondering, if it is the engine, would i notice a different in how it drives? would the engine be running weird?
  10. yeah thats what i thought.... i'll check again. thanks!
  11. anyone else???

  13. here's the link to the video:
  14. hey guys, i have a 96 r33 s2, and i changed my water pump yesterday (my first time doing this). now before taking off the timing belt i didnt top center the engine (stupid mistake). but when i put everything back together the everything was still in its natural state, i didnt move any of the pullies indepedantly. i also got a mate who's a mechanic to check it out before i start the car, and all the marks aligned properly. the first time i turned on the car there was a loud knocking sound from the engine, and it got louder with the revs. but this sound seems to kind of stop after the engine warms up properly. ive included a video so you guys can hear for yourself. whats the chances its the valves? or the shifters? could i have caused this when i changed the water pump?
  15. is there any way i can check for the dump pipe gaskets myself?
  16. hey guys, ive got a 96 r33 gtst and got a new clutch 3 weeks ago. when i got the car back after the clutch install i straight away noticed a hissing sound coming from the engine bay, specifically from the passenger side. i went back to the mechanic, they had a look and said its just the clutch parts settling and it should stop hissing soon once the clutch settles in. its been 3 weeks now and its still there. ive noticed that its always hissing, whether on idle or not, and the sound corresponds to the revs, so if i rev the sound gets louder with the revs. i took it back to the mechanic and this time i was told it cant be the clutch, and it could be the turbo (something about parts in the turbo touching eachother as it spins, sorry i forgot what he said exactly). has anyone ever experienced this before? or know what it could be? it almost sounds like an air leak...
  17. im after a clutch fan for my r33 s2, must be in good condition. located in adelaide. text me 0402369441
  18. Nah ive never driven a ceramic clutch before. i"ll buy the new one. I read that ceramic clutch is harder to drive for daily but i though thers different types of ceramic clutches?
  19. hey guys, ive got a r33 s2 as a daily car, and my clutch is on its way out. ive found a second hand exedy heavy duty ceramic clutch for cheap, apparently it has %80 left, so near new from what i was told. or i could buy a new normal exedy heavy duty, both around the same price. i dont know much when it comes to clutches, so how can i make sure that there is actually %80 left (where do i look?). also which one do you guys reckon is better for me? my car atm makes 194rwkw cuz apparently this makes a difference?
