    Coilovers

couple of sets of bilsteins, one set of konis, konis were a little better, bilsteins alot better. certain sections of windy road show this up, at the speed limit, in traffic.

i stiffened the damper on the 32's teins(mono flex) to increase traction from full soft.... its all about balance. they dont seem to shift the weight as nicely through the corners as the other shocks i have owned...
  3. i found trying to get the shock working propery on the spring on a harder setting gave me much better traction than on full soft. damper adjustment is for getting the shock working properly with the spring/other shocks, not as a street/track knob. If you are having traction issues, what rear suspension mods have you done, what ride height, alignment, tyres, power?

Ditch the coilovers... this is a good read http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets6.html
  5. play with it until it feels right to you. try it on full soft and full hard so you know what each extreme is.
  6. Nice of them to give you 5mins IMO
  7. Matty will blow. If the 32 doesn't have reg, could you run them in on the tow car a few days before with a gentle drive(hills or fwy, i dont know that one), or are they different stud pattern?
  8. Winton fun day that day, 30$
  9. Its not just about temp range, friction co-efficient plays a part. I will be ditching my EBC shortly for RaceBrakes/QFM pads.

  11. The RT615 replaces the RT215 IIRC... both are an S compound "semi"
  12. Wangs would suck in the wet.
  13. less of a difference compared to a macpherson strut car, agree'd
  14. put your location in your profile and we will tell you where to go
  15. strings FTMFW trackside in Kilsyth still use them(last time i was there)
  16. Anyone ever put them on a shock dyno?
  17. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4882477 read it. same budget, similar needs. Bilstein/eibach over mono flex.
  18. Clean AFM with CO contact cleaner, but if it drives fun throughout the rev ranges prob isnt this. READ: http://wiki.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?title=AFM Mine was my TPS, if you disconnect the TPS, does it idle fine? Does o2 effect idle? and of course, if it dies when braking at slow speed and turning etc, clean the aac assembly at the back on the plenum.
  19. I second this.
  20. Rear toe out was recommended for GTR's and Stageas IIRC and is used for drift to promote oversteer, I didn't run any on my stag as it turns in fine, but temped to try it to see how much better it could be. Toe out on the front is also wanted.
  21. Heading the right way with swaybars, Depending how stiff you would like it, Off the shelf bilsteins with springs from the whiteline catalog, or for a bit more Eibach springs and Bilsteins valved to suit. Either setup will feel far superior to Teins, and should last a lot longer. I have bilsteins in my stagea, had them in my R31, have Tein mono flex in my 32, had koni's in my 1600. With your budget I would be looking at the Bilstein/Eibach setup.
  22. my 235/45 does not have noticeable stretch. It doesnt quite use the rim protector on the ideal angle, but it is FINE... I can give you photos tomorrow of how MINIMAL the stretch is. Supposedly 180rwkw... really should put my EBC in and wind it up ey . So I guess Can't really compare given you have ~100rwkw more. I dare say my car is a little lighter and stiffer than yours though(with a 2way), and I wouldn't say I struggle for traction. With shitty neovas, I did. If you are going for max traction on a budget, maybe go 245/45 for the extra sidewall? and its cheaper. A light stretch on the front will also feel better, and be cheaper. I assume you are keeping an eye on the wallet given your options. PM Ash and ask him what Tyres he was running, he had similar power to you with no issues, now has more I think. The 45 series is cheaper and has a higher load rating, something to keep in mind. 235/45/17 KU36 $164.00 94W 245/40/17 KU36 $215.00 91W 245/45/17 KU36 $202.00 95W
  23. Rear toe out and thicker swaybars can be used to tune out the understeer without going to a stiffer bar, without sacrificing comfort and traction(going off of Gary's post in this thread and others similar)
