  1. I spoke to a friend who recomended corner weighting my car(s), does anyone know what this involves ? I have adjustable height suspension on both cars but my R34's height adjust sustem is one that requires the spring to be taken out to adjust it - it has 4 settings of height adjustment - does this mean I wont be able to corner weight it ?   2. I have just read a thread on another forum about 2 new variations of the 2530 that have come out by HKS (aka garrett). They are the 2530 Kia and Kansia, does anyone know anything about these and specifically what the difference is bewteen them and standard 2530's ? Jeremy

I would have thought a person who prides himself on being so knowledgable on the science of tuning would know that KW is a scientific measure of energy that is NOT a relative concept (like e=mc2) but a constant one. When measured using the same measuring tool - in this case a dyno dynamics dynamometer - the results will be congruent if the atmo and other correction figures are correctly entered, which they are here (at least by SST). If in perth feel free to come let me know, one ride in any car dynoed on SST's dyno will immediately verify thier figures. Out of interest SK what would you predict a fully loaded (non weight reduced) R33 GTR putting out 285 rwkw ON YOUR DYNO would do the quater in given that my R33 ran 11.9 (average run) and registered 285 on SST's ??? I would have guessed about 11.9 OR If anyone is asserting WA people are fiddling with dyno figures why dont they have the balls to come out and just say that.
  7. My guess is anywhere between 300-320KW. But you should have great off the bottom response with that setup, let us know how you go ... p.s. which N1's ? there are different types, if R33 N1s will be lower than Group A N1's

  10. How do you know what the maximum reading is ? I have PFC and data logit but dont know how to retrieve things like max rpm, max knock etc ??? SK, you out there ?
  11. I have power Fc's in both my GTRs and would like to know if anyone has est if the knock sensors actually work ? Mine is set at standard and I have never seen the light flash although I Know when we had it on the dyno it pinged during tuning because I was listening (but not watching engine light at the time) we ironed things out of course so no knock while on dyno but i just want peice of mind to know the thing will flash if theres any detonation. Also I have a data logit but not a hand controller- how can I tell things like what my max RPM, max knock level, max other stuff has been ??? Jeremy

  13. Thanks guys, I also didnt realise that the time for th run DOESNT start until you get moving, I thought it started when the light went green and I was concentrating too much on the light so next time I might just try to get a good time

  15. Just get in there mate, line it up and GO, its really easy. Got to have a good clutch though, thank god my 33 came with a Nismo triple plate. And who gives a shit if you dont run an 11 justavago
  16. p.s. The run I did the 11.9 on was far from perfect, I predict I can shave .1 -. 2 off that time with no other mods, watch this space ...

OK ok ... its not entirely standard: standard IC/turbos/internals/fuel system Pump Fuel EVERYTHING left in the car - spare wheel, CD's and alot of other shit too 1st time at the drags Full exhaust (standard dumps) No CAT Pod air filters Power FC Bridgestone SO3's HKS EVC Boost controller Still a pretty ****ing decent effort I would have thought (I am attributing alot of the credit to my tuner - anyone can belt a car down the quarter). Boost was actually 1.0 - 1.1 bar and YES anything above 1 bar is a little risky and I am hoping not to lose the ceramic wheels onto the tarmac of Motorplex if possible - but that boost stuff is addictive. I got lucky with both my GTRs - engines in good nick. My 33 puts out 275 KW@RW on 1 bar of boost, I have to say remove the CAT and see what happens. Jeremy

  19. All those mods are on the 34 not the 33 that I did the 11.9 in. A guy in perth did my dumps for $300 and did an awesome job, you wont get that price in melbourne though

Just did my first drag session at Kwinana today in my R33 GTR and ran 11.9 but I reckon I can do better as my technique leaves a bit to be desired: I was launching car at 7500-8000 rpm steppping off clutch, got a fair bit of wheelspin and was bouncing off the rev limiter after about 15m (also my reaction time was .5 so could be a bit quicker) Anyone got any suggestions - have to say Ive done a dozen or so launches on the street and got the thing going a treat but the strip at Kwinana seemed very slippery compared to the road - I expected it to be gripier. Just got back from my first visit to Kwinana Mororplex having pulled out an 11.9 second pass in my R33 GTR which has: Standard Internals/turbo/fuel system 294KW@RW's Terminal speed of 116.88mph, 0-60 ft 1.827 AND reaction time of 0.53 so this time can be improved with a bit of practice. The R34 GTR is having the twin plater installed this week so next weekend I might have to get it down to the strip and see how it goes.
