  1. As you can see from the title to this post i am no Mathemetician (actually the oposite I am a lawyer) ! Can anyone tell me what 1600 lb's is equal to in Newton Metres ? I have tried to work it out on the web searches to no avail. Cheers Jeremy
  2. The difficulty in Perth is that we dont get Optimax we can only get BP Ultimate 98 so that may explain why its run a little richer ?
  3. Sydney Kid, Cheers for the reply, you rarely aim for less than 12 to 1, what do you aim for exactly 12/12.5/13 to 1 ? Jeremy
  4. Can you gurus have a look at the attached dyno chart and give any comments on the AFR i.e. is it too rich ?
  5. The ECU that was in it before was a chipped (or VX Rommed) Jap item that ran ok at full tilt but crap everywhere else. The main gain is in Torque throughout the range. YES I think the AFR is a little rich and some more can be had from leaning that out ... does anyone have any input on that ? Jeremy
  6. This is the Dyno chart from my most recent mod to my 34 - the addition of the power FC, the difference is remarkable, the torque curve is much fatter than before and peak power has jumped too. Ant at SST is behind the tune which I should say was done in very little time and very reasonably priced. I reccomend the PFC to anyone with a GTR I have them in both my 33 & 34 now and cannot fault them. Other mods are: * bigger intercooler * HKS dump pipes * full Blitz exhaust * Pod air filters Engine and Turbos are standard as is fuel system which is about as close to being maxed out as you can get. I am in need of a clutch upgrade that is around the corner and this baby should run a decent time over the quarter. Jeremy

  8. Lal my fuel system is about as stretched as it can get. Im going to do fuel system turbos and cams in about 6 mths. Unfortunately those flames dont seem to be happening on the road !
  9. Had my 34 on the dyno at SST today in Perth (tuning courtesy of maestro Ant), fitted a Power FC and got 287 RWKW = 385 RWHP with * stock engine stock Fuel system stock Turbos * 1.1 bar Boost * Power FC * full Blitz exhaust * pod air filters * Trust Intercooler * No other mods The power curve is Bullshit, like out of a text book heaps of Torque (Steve can you post dyno graph into this thread?). Injectors read (on 34TV screen) 98.4% of max !!! So an upgrade of fuel system is around the corner as is New Tyres and twin plate clutch (still standard at the moment). If you are in Perth and want your car tuned go and see Ant or Steve at SST's, if you can get in to see them it will be well worth your time and money. If anyone can post the chart send me your email address and I will foward it to you to post. Jeremy

  11. Do you mean in the 350KW range ? I am making 380HP at the wheels with stock turbos on my R34. Jeremy
  12. 1PS = .7355KW 1HP= .7457 KW Also we are talking about GTSS's here, not GTRS's, must have been a good night in Sydney last night ! Cheers Jeremy
  13. Absolutely, I went for a ride in a car with GTSS's and it blew me away, it was a RB26 DETT lobbed into a GTS-T (ie rear wheel drive) the thing had NO traction in 1st or 2nd and you had to back off in third to get traction. It was pulling around 450RWHP at the time, which is a big figure in anyones speak. Without a doubt one of the most impressive rides ive had in a skyline. Jeremy
  14. My calculations are as follows: 1PS = .7355KW thus 579PS = 425KW and YES this must be measured at the crank.
  15. I see your point BUT you must be looking at the HKS Oz web site in arriving at those figures - see HKS japan: http://www.hks-power.co.jp/ They rate the GTSS (in bold below) as having the same power output as the 2530: MODEL 付属制御装置 1機での 対応出力(PS) GT-SS HKS製強化 アクチュエーター 320 コンプレッサーホイール トリム 入口径(mm) 外径(mm) 60 46.6 60.1 コンプレッサーハウジング 入口径(mm) 出口径(mm) A/R 専用 専用 0.60 タービンホイール トリム 外径(mm) 出口径(mm) 76 53.8 47.0 エキゾーストハウジング 入口フランジ 出口フランジ A/R GT25 S/V GT25専用 0.64 I wrote to HKS Australia and they responded saying their web site was wrong and the Jap one was correct.
  16. Guys, ... ineteresting stuff, the debate re 2530's vs GTSS's is a good one, the thing is that in OZ GTR owners (who are into street/track driving) dont seem to have "swung" to the GTSS's in the way the Japs have. THe Japs appear now to be using almost excusively (at least the road cars with moderate track work) the GTSS's. The following thread is instructive in this regard. It from Pheonix tuning house Japan, who are quite a reputable mob over there and almost all of their customers low mount cars use GTSS's. http://www.phoenixs.co.jp/bigsite/home.html In fact none of their customers incuded in their power graph use 2530's. I cant read Japanese but it appears that figures as high as 579 PS@wheels is able to be had from GTSS's which, I would have thought, outs them into (or at least close to) the league of the 2530's. I also have a friend who is "well in the know" using GTSS's on an R33 GTR with standard internals getting 421 RWHP at about 1.3 bar which leaves alot of room for improvement. In addition (if I havent bored everyone yet) the HKS Jap web site rates GTSS's at the same power level as the 2530's. I will be interested to see Merli's ressults.
  17. Any better ones you would recomend ? Jeremy
  18. Yeah thats the one !
  19. My latest edition to the garage, R34 GTR came with a mysterious "standard" appearance ECU that seems to have had the wiring altered, it has a piggy back wiring harness that looks like a HKS item but isnt. I know its had the wiring altered because when I hooked a Power FC up it wiont start, as if the fuel pump wire has been disconnected. Anyone had any similar experiences ? Jeremy
  20. They look pretty much like the stock ones to me. The pointier the nose on the cams the more stock they are, the more radical the cams the more bulbous (less pronounced) the ends. Jeremy
  21. Just bought a "new" (?) Gtr video today that isnt too bad its called "nissan skyline GTR". Distributed by DUKE. HAs some awesome Nurbring driving action and some generally very talented GTR drivers showing their goods, lots of R34's too. Any other good vids out there ? Jeremy
  22. Ned as far as I know there isnt much that isnt interchangable, the engine is virtually identical from 32 - 34. Jezza
  23. Thanks guys, the rotors are only bigger in diameter not width so they should be fine.
