Hi all, According to the guy who did my last safety inspection I'll probably need to replace the front two shocks to pass next time. Looking to get some idea of what I'm up for - I've heard of people on other boards paying up to $450NZD per side for the fronts and I'd really rather not spend that much if at all possible. I'm in New Zealand but I guess Australian prices are still reasonably relevant. As I understand it the US market Infiniti G35 is essentially the same car and looking at US Websites it appears parts are much cheaper over there - does anyone know whether they're compatible with our Japanese markets cars?

As I understand it the 350GTs CVT is a unique design, not at all like the one in the Maxima or Presage or other VQ35DE Nissans (this is why I went for a 300GT with the 5 speed) An entire car can be had from $12-13k NZD (which is a fair bit weaker than the Aussie at the moment), even if you had to buy the whole car and have the transmission removed and shipped it might be an option. You could sell the rest on to a wrecker or for maximum money have someone part the car out for you (I know I'd pay good money for the part-leather seats and the rest has got to be worth something). Obviously the problem here is its a logistical nightmare you don't know how much life the new box has in it. Edit: The CVT guy in NZ may have access to a few wrecked/parted out cars which could explain things. Best to tread warily though.

You don't have a direct injection engine

The V35 wins hands down in the comfort stakes. They're very different types of cars though, many people still prefer the older models but there is no way I'd swap for one even one with much higher performance

Hi guys, I hope its okay if I drag up this long running thread again. I have a 2002 HV35 300GT sedan which if I'm reading the thread correctly does not have a transponder in the key correct? Good news if so. Second question is my key has remote entry buttons on it. Is it possible to get a spare one which will also open my car remotely? The key looks like this: Cheers, Ross
