  1. All, What is the best way to remove the speed limiter from a 2003 V35 GT manual? I have searched and all I have found are "speed cut defenders are available", however I'm not overly sure what they are, where to get them and any negatives associated with them. I am after the most reliable and cheapest method available without requiring a full ECU with the relevant tuning hassles. I do not intend to modify the car, just remove the speed limiter. I do not want to affect the fuel efficiency or any other tuning parameters the car. Any suggestions including brands, suppliers and installers (preferably in SA) would be much appreciated. Cheers.
  2. What are the offsets? What vehicle were they trial fitted to? If they fit an R34 GTT / S15 will they fit a V35 Coupe with Brembos? Anyone re the last?
  3. My apologies for aiding and abetting this blatant thread hi-jack but Mikyel, details please. You have PM. As do you blitz1100. Free bump for the seller as compensation...
  4. Hi all. I have a set of 18" RAYS / Nismo LMGT2 3 piece wheels that came off an R33 GTR and another set that came off an R34 GTR. Question is, are they a direct bolt-on for a V35 Skyline GT coupe? I do not have the offsets in front of me (and I am not an expert on them anyway) but I hope the vehicle's they came off will give someone in the know a clue if they will fit. The exact wheels are in the pics attached. Thanks in advance. Out.
  5. What I am getting at is is the V35 sedan available with Brembos and LSD? I have searched and have been unable to find one. There are many in the coupe version though. Also, someone posted the sedan "Premium" does not automatically come with leather. Is this correct and what does the sedan "Premium" pack come with? Bose? Anything else? Cheers.
  6. Hi. Please forgive my ignorance, but does all the above only relate to the coupe or are those specs / options applicable to the 4-door also? Cheers.
  7. Does anyone have an answer / info on this one? Also, does anyone know if the Gialla kit is only available for the sedan? I have searched and cannot find one for the coupe. Cheers.
  8. Not true. It is very easy to verify whether an officer is responding to a legit emergency. All it takes is a minor breach in procedures, like lights activated but no siren for the officer involved to either wear the fine, or be internally charged. Second, it is a judgement call made by someone (not a Police Officer so they have no idea what the job is like) in the Police Complaints Authority (usually a lawyer) who decides whether or not the officer wears the fine based on the speed, time of day etc. The officer's judgement is being constantly called into question by someone who has never ridden in their shoes. I am beginning a rant but my mate is telling the full story, and there have apparently been close to 20 fines lately where officers have been responding to legit emergencies that have been forwarded for prosecution so no, they do not automatically get off speeding fines if responding to an emergency. SAPol is trying to obtain a squeaky clean "We are not above the law" image for the sake of appearances with the resultant persecution of hard working people heading towards things that most people run away from... I will leave it at that.
  9. Very true. I have a mate who was responding to a house on fire with an aggressive male out the front refusing to allow firies to do their thing. Long story short, he was zapped by a flash for cash doing 84km/h in a 50km/h zone while in a marked car enroute to assist firies. Received a $450 odd fine (including the relevant demerits - 6 I think) which he is having a shiteload of trouble getting out of. Fine goes to him personally. Even anti-Police types out there must think this is rediculous? Otherwise, watch the response times blow out... If they cop this type of scrutiny over legit urgent driving, who in their right mind would risk the shitestorm that would come their way for a bit of hoooning? Out.
  10. Cheers mate. At first glance, I thought you were taking the piss, like "James Bond" top secret...
  11. Hi. Anyone know what this kit is? I have searched... Cheers.
  12. Madaz, Missed your post. Kind of makes mine irrelevant.
  13. Idiot (maybe a bit harsh), Picture this scenario: Person parks their car in the morning and catches goes to work. Comes back 8hrs later to find no car. Car could have been driving around stolen for 8hrs and it wouldn't show up on the Police "big ass computer screens." Same thing if car is stolen in the middle of the night. Anyone on these boards awoken (in the morning) to find their car stolen during the night? Mayhem could have been committed during the night with your car and if Police only stopped cars if they were REPORTED as stolen, then half the stolen cars would not be chased, and sometimes caught... Use some common sense instead of whinging. Also, if you are driving your / any car on a road, you are obliged to state your name under the Road Traffic Act and the Summary Offences Act. Argue if you wish. One day you will find out the hard way...
  14. Coz then all the stinking, unwashed, hairy, peace-loving (at all costs), tree-hugging, alfalfa-munching, do-gooding, greeny anti-Police rodents will crawl out from under their organic-moss covered rocks complaining about excessive force and the tragedy of the innocent life stolen by jack-booted overzealous perpetrators of state-sponsored violence... End of rant.
  15. Did you report it to the Police? Might seem minor but if they are aware they can deploy the appropriate resources as the penninsula is quite a hotspot for motor vehicle crime.
  16. And English. It's maths in Australia...
  17. Blame the courts...
  18. Mate, My sincerest apologies, however if you check out this link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=179981&hl= You can see where I was confused... Another free bump for the stuffup and good luck with the sale.
  19. Mate, Hope I'm not dumping in your thread but I could have sworn this is a price jump as the price was $2200 when I last checked. Hope to Christ I'm right... Out.
  20. All SA import owners. Due to the huge increase in import car thefts over the last 6 months, this might be an appropriate time to post genuine tips to prevent the theft of your pride and joy (please, not general discussion polluting the thread). I would rather prevetative steps from this forum (and this thread) stop another member becoming the victim of motor vehicle crime than have to read another "Car Stolen" thread. I'll start with a quick and simple tip if selling your car (as we know, many a car thief trolls the classifieds for potential targets). It may prevent crooks from stealing it (as you are no longer a soft target), and will definitely assist SAPol with follow-up if it is stolen. Request EVERY person who inspects your car for their driver's licence, check it and record the number. Inform them when you arrange a meeting place that you require this (also covers your arse (a little) in an accident). Chances are, they will not steal it after you have done this, and if they do, you have something tangible for Police to follow-up. Unless your car is stolen in a public place where there may be footage, there is pretty much nothing that can be done other than a doorknock if stolen from a residential area until the Police either chase it when located, or find it burnt out somewhere. Also, NEVER let interested parties come to your house. Meet them at the nearest shopping centre car park. Best of luck. PS. If there is enough info and interest, perhaps the mods can make this a sticky and keep the thread clean.
  21. Madaz, My apologies. With all the incoming fire headed my way I got you mixed up with someone else.
  22. All, Just a quick and simple tip to prevent theft if selling your car (as we all know many a car thief does his recon of cars advertised for sale). 23. Disregard my last. Just found this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;hl=Security I'll add my post to that.
  24. Praised by Madaz and Andz on this thread, slammed by them on another... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=178236 Cheers for the above posts on this thread boyz. On another note, I'll start a car security tips thread and hope the mods can sticky if there are meaningful contributions, or delete it if it has been done before (didn't find anything when using the search function). Out.
  25. Ouch. That really hurt. Gotta love those hard core keyboard warriors... Thanks for the advice. I'll sleep better now.
