  1. GTRGeoff, if SAU wanted to advertise their events on the NDSOC Website, they would be most welcome. Last time I looked, SAU Vic don't do many motorsport events, and this thread was added here for those in all clubs who would like to participate in a highly publicised drag event. It is put here in the interests of all enthusiasts, not as competition for the SAU Vic Club. I don;t understand your comment about SAU being a social club with cars involved, that is exactly what the NDSOC drag day is about, a social event with cars involved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any questions, please ask. This site contains all the info you will require to book your accomodation and the event. www.skylinenationals.com

  6. Yes it is, all except the drift track, as it is in a poor state of repair.
  7. Ok, due to unforeseen events, Winton is no Longer available. However, we have secured Deca for the whole day on SUnday the 30th July, Costs have reduced substantially for everything becuase of this. It also means that we are having all of the event's in Shepparton, instead of having to trundle down to Winton. Deca is a 2.3 kay track, motorkhana and skid pan. Prices are going to be as little as $115.00 to compete in all 3. You do NOT need a CAMS licence for this event, but do need to be a member of a CAMS afiiliated club. Normal rules apply for your car in relation to safety requirements. This is a pretty scary fast hard track, so make sure your car is up to scratch.
  8. Oh and same magazine, same month, these are two of mine.
  9. QUOTE(Ghostrider @ 28 Feb 2006, 10:43 PM) Geez I'm glad to see everyone is so smart to convict, without veryfying the authenticity of the document. Please! would someone advise me if I'm correct in saying we only had 2 enduro's each year in 86 & 87. I have noticed that your phone number hasn't turned up by PM Ghost rider, perhaps you would like to email it to Gavin using the email address on the enclosed letter. Oh, by the way, Mandy is his wife. I have taken the liberty of enclosing a scanned image of gavin with the car. Oh, and a scanned image of the article on Holden number 1, which Gavin also faithfully restored. The DR30 has already featued in heaps of newspaper and magazine articles, with his Zed appearing on the front cover of more magazines than I care to count. You are truly incredible, and I live for the day when Gavin actually meets you.
  10. Quote from omrae "cazz chill out it aint the end of the world or anything important" Not the end of the world granted, but not important. I don't think so. When other members of this forum get up here and tout that they know better than the owner of a Marque Skyline Australian Touring car, and absolutely ream the other posters on this thread, than yes, I m afraid it is important. If anyone on this thread should be getting a "Chill Out" it should be Ghost Rider, as he has offended many influential people, (I have not included myself in there), who have contributed more to the great Nissan Skyline reputation and heritage than almost any other one person here on this forum today. Perhaps Ghost Rider should get a chill out after what he has said in his posts. Give me a break. Here is a letter from the owner of the DR30 mentioned that should sort any doubts and questions out. gavin.htm
  11. Ghostrider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything from you now, you bloody idiot. You owe more then me an apology after your rants. After speaking at length with the owner this morning, and directing him to your posts on this forum, he is very frustrated that you state to know everything, but in fact know nothing. He is drafting a letter for me to post up here on his behalf, and I will do so as soon as I receive it. He has also stated that you should be reported to CAMS for insisting that they have falsified his log books. You have bought the skylines australia forums under disrepute with your claims, and if it wasn't for me, the owner of this DR30, a very important piece of motor sport history, would have insisted that this forum and club were full of f^%k wits. Oh and just briefly, the DR30 did not use Holinger gearboxes, they used Nissan works gearboxes with Holinger internals. I hope you can listen to what other people have to say now without venting your obvious misguided opinions on this forum.
  12. I give up, you are unbelievable. The car RSX84 is showing is a differnt car. You'd be anice bloke if you weren't so agro. Oh and if you PM me with your number, I will get him to give you a call. And then wait for my apology.
  13. Well its official, we have Deca booked for the 20th Anniversary of the R31 for next year. I have not posted this in the upcomming events section, because this will be a national event. Global mods, feel free to post this on every upcomming events if you feel the need. This is gonna be one huge event with Skylines of all makes and models welcome for this weekend. It is fully CAMS sanctioned, and is covered by all the nice things, like public liability, that a CAMS event offers us. It is being fully supported and funded by the NDSOC and myself. So if your pride and joy is not running, or in need of some TLC, you have almost a year to get it ready. The event is being held over the whole weekend, so book your holidays now, and be there. Registration is on Friday the 28th July, at the Shepparton Town Hall. Show and Shine is at the Sheppartons Victoria Park Lake on Saturday the 29th July. And we have a full track day at Deca, (Events are not yet finalised, but will probably include sprints, regularity events and the like) on Sunday the 30th July, and for those of you who don't want to do the track day, we have a nice sunday cruise to the wineries etc around the area. Presentation dinner is on Sunday night, and trophies will be offered for first, and second places. Each model skyline will be covered, but it is an event in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the only Aussie Skyline ever made, so that vehicle will be the premier attraction. We also have trophies for Best GTR, Best Engine bay, and Best paint. We will have Skylines from the first Prince GT's to the R34. Please mark this date in your calender, and express your interest to [email protected]. This is our first skyline nationals, lets make it huge. Edit** Did the Shepparton run this weekend. What a fantastic place. We had an all day meeting with the Shepparton Council's events Manager (Mark, what a nice bloke), yesterday, and finalised venues for the presentation dinner, the show and shine, and accomodation. We are just waiting on final prices, and then we can confirm costings for everything. Accomodation is going to be very, very reasonable, and we have three types available, from cheap cheap, to just outrageous. Haha. The show and shine is gonna be huge, and we have almost 100 trophies to give away, so you have to be in it to win it. We wanna show the Shepparton car scene how we skyline people do it. And there is a massive car scene here. We sat in the Hotel restaurant just watching these guys "cutting laps" all night. They love anything with four wheels up there. I am very excited about this event, and after visiting Shepparton, and seeing how co-operative and welcoming the whole town is, I know it's just going to be a great weekend for all who can come along. Thanks to Peeps (Libby), Acsplit (Andrew), Ejay and the Murano for all their help this weekend. It was a bit social with some work thrown in, but a good weekend was had by all (I think) in Shepparton. I am really, really excited about this event. I really want SAU to come on board with this event, to make it bigger than Ben Hur. Mods, please don't delete my post again, because I feel that this one event will set the pace for a "Skyline Nationals" every 2 years. The NDSOC have Nissan nationals every two years that more than 300 people attend. There are a lot more skylines out there than Zeds, so lets co-operate, communicate and get it together please!! All SAU Members are covered by their CAMS affiliation for this event, so you don't need to join NDSOC either.
  14. Same fella yes, so if you know that car, you know how switched on he is. No he hasn't sold the zed, but is retiring it from the show circuit and making it strictly race. Very sad.

  16. The car is painted in the next seasons colours, not the colours it was raced in, coz the guy who bought the car didn't like the darker colours. Does a new paint job make the car an imposter. The DR30 did not race with a holinger, the HR31's did. This particular car never raced with a holinger, or Motec. The new owner will be resotring it, to the original paint colour. The new owner of this car is the guy who restored Holden Number 1, if you think he doesn't know his business, you are sadly mistaken. Ghostrider, I try really hard to make sense out of your aggression and lack of knowledge, but I just can't. You come on to this post, (an informative post with some great pics), and turn it into a slanging match you know nothing about. Just because you think you are the R30 god, doesn't mean you know everything, just like I don't know everything about R31's. One last time, this is the real deal. I would hate to see the new owner read this post, he would reach thru the phone lines and rip your voice out.
  17. There will be a couple of merchandise stals, not too sure about anything else yet. We have people coming to this event from all over Australia, get your accomodation and entry forms filled in early.
  18. Like the Buzz, I have seen this car and it's log books in the flesh. Seems there are people on here who like to shoot their mouth off without knowing the true facts. Just because the car has been painted in a different colour, and had a rear spoiler fitted, does not mean it is not genuine. It has a holinger gearbox in it, and motec fitted to make it quicker, for modern day touring car events. Both of these items are going, to restore it to it's former "George Fury" glory. This car IS THE REAL DEAL. and for all of those who don't believe it, it's your loss. To see this car in the flesh, and rocketing down a main straight is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen and heard. As a true R31 enthusiast, I did not ever think I would get excited over and R30, but this one takes the cake.
  19. Umm I don't understand what a steering wheel has to do with Hicas, but yes the aussie steering wheels, (and road wheels for that matter) do fit. Front windows don't. Your passage is pillarless, and all the local cars had pillars.
  20. R31 SVD GTS Silhouette Series 1 Number 107 South East Melbourne Excellent New Project $8900.00 After much thought, I have decided to sell GTS 1 number 107. Most of you have followed the passionate restoration of this car over the last 14 months. First things first, the car comes with registration until September 2006, and a proper Road Worthy ceritifcate. The number plates R31GTS DO NOT come with the car, but NSV 107 number plates do. I am asking a higher than average price on this car, because of the work that has gone into it. It has had a seven thousand dollar rust repair and respray - completed in October this year. The brand new genuine Nissan parts that I can remember are: New bootlid and bonnet, front and rear bars and reo's, radiator, front disc rotors, brake and clutch master cylinder, clutch (daiken), water pump, heater core, power steering pump, alternator, battery, starter motor, headlights, fog lights, tail lights, indicators, front and side, uni joints, centre bearing, AAC valve, genuine rear muffler, (last one in existence), brand new rear bilsteins and rebuilt fronts, all new bushes throughout. Non genuine parts are Windscreen, momo wheel recovered, exhaust worx exhaust with hi flow cat, (Fitted when genuine rear muffler fitted). There are many more genuine and non genuine parts that I have replaced on this car, I just can not remember everything. The car needs very little to finish it and make it a concourse car. It is now a collectable car, and will be featured in this months unique cars magazine. I have invested more than 20,000 dollars on the car including purchase price. Anyone who knows me can verify that nothing has been done by half, it has been a proper, no shortcuts restoration. A very original genuine car with the odometre showing 221xxx kilometres. Has all owners manuals, including SVD wallet, and everything still in it that it was built with, including a working SVD stereo. Looking for $8900.00 with RWC. Please phone 97828222 with any questions, please don't whore the thread with comments that are not relevant or if you are not interested. Many Thanks. Price is NOT very negotiable.
  21. They are the same as the normal steel wheels on a GX and GXE, but the are 15" instead of 14". This pic shows what they look like, the car in this pic is actually an ex police skyline, so the wheels are identical to those I am after.
  22. If I wanted alloy, I would have said alloy. I am after 15" STEEL rims. the same as the spares on Ti's and Silhouettes and GTS's. They also were available on the police and fire brigade R31's, which is what I have just bought, but it doesn't have the steel wheels anymore. To get it back to stock, I require 4 of these wheels. Angry, thanks mate, I would really appreciate it if you could find out for me. Your a good lad.
