Don't bother with an RB20, drive your stock car around till you get used to the power and torque of the RB30, this will take a while, coz they ae a lovely engine, then bang a VL Turbo on it, common conversion, and better low down driveability. The RB 30 is bullet proof, and handles the turbo conversion well so long as you don't go stupid. A SilhouETTE, is a very nice car to have, Standard LSD, and better spring and shock rates, as well as better seats, steering wheel and trip computer. 2.5k is really a starting price for a good silhouette. If you want a half decent car that isn't gonna cost you the earth to keep on the road, 4-5 grand is a better game plan that will get you a pretty good reliable car. Becuase lots of people want these cars now, they are getting harder to come by, so the earlier you can lay your hands on one the better

Can I Put A V8 In My R31
cazz replied to ROCKETRACERKING's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Unless you wanted to do something different, (which a V8 in a R31 is), why wouldn't you just put a turbo on. So long as you don't go stupid on boost, and RB30et conversion is very tractable and nice to drive. I like the torquiness of the RB30 standard, putting a turbo on it makes you forget how heavy the motor is, and how nice the thing is to drive. I personally think spooler noise is almost as nice as V8 burble. -
Got my Ti back turbo converted toady w00t. Very nice, will have the FMIC and piping done in the next month or so, will keep you posted for those who care. Its a nice little sleeper with the quietest 3" exhaust your eva gonna hear on a turbo car. Can't wait to have my first traffic light drag and impress someone who thinks its just an old farts Franco Cozzo Ti.

Why do people insist on hanging shit on other peoples cars. As long as it's a skyline, it's cool, whether its a c110 or a r34, n/a or turbo, they are all cool. As for ebing banned for flaming - well, thats a bit sus.

GTS 2's were based on GXE's not executives Vic police and Fire Brigade had Nissan Special Vehicles Skyline GX's with full GTS 2 running gear including bilsteins and extractors, but standard exhaust from the cat back. Anyone want any info on the Nissan Special Vehicles, PM me, I am happy to help. Tasmanian Polica GTS's were full GTS 2 spec, just no GTS badging, full body kit the lot.

Factory specs are kerb weight, with a full tank of fuel, and 1 passenger ghostrider.

ACSPLIT was referring to the RB20 being a boat anchor, not the RB30, we lurve our RB30's.

Just thought I would put a reply to all this crap going on over my turbo conversion. Sheesh, get a life. I am not going to get involved in this debarcle other than to say that in australia, we generally quote power on car brochures etc, as kilowatts, not horsepower, and if I want to make my Ti a sleeper, apart from that being my choice, what better car to do it with than a grandpa car. It will still have all it's electrics, all it's air etc, just bigger brakes and better suspension. I can remember being shocked out of my drivers seat the other day by the crapiest looking 240K that just left me standing at the lights after I heard this strange whizzing noise coming from it. I have to tell you I was impressed, even though I now knew that the car was a sleeper. If I only had one car, and I wasn't an R31 fanatic, (of course I realise that not everyone is, but I am.) I wouldn't bother with something like this. I have a GTS 1 and a GTS 2, they are both great cars, and a lot of fun to drive, now I want something different, and I wouldn't mod the GTS's, not ever. At the end of the day, if you wanna hang shit on what someone else is doing, thats fine, but don't get involved in character assasinations on this forum. We are all entilted to our opinion, but we don't have to make sure the whole world sees how immature this little thread has become. Now can we all get back on topic, and start talking about our 31's again.

GTS 2 - Ex Fred Gibson Motor sport car. Genuine and validated. This car was rescued about eighteen months ago, and has had a bucket load of cash thrown at it to bring it up to a very nice car indeed. - $12,000.00 - Anyone who came on the 7th Skyline Day cruise to Philip Island will know this car. It is an Ex Fred Gibson Motorsport car, and Mark has the books to prove it. The car is all original, recently been done up, but is missing a cupla things like vents and fog lights. I can get these at a reasonable price, so it's not that bigga deal. It also needs to have 3 of it's GTS 2 wheels changed over, as they have not had the recall wheels replaced yet. This is not a huge problem either. This is a piece of nissan history, and even though it is auto, it will just go up in value from here. Anyone who is interested, please contact me, and I will put you on to Mark. [email protected] 0419 344322 9782 8222 The car is stock, and comes with 12 months reg and RWC. There are pics of the car on the R31skyline Club cruise photo, of 7th skyline day. list, it is the GTS with the white pin stripe

Here is a list of my babies Car 1 1988 Series 3 Ti I bought it just over a year ago Modifications Its just got a nice set of 16 inch wheels, pedders lowered suspension, tinted windows and some nice sound. It's a pretty mint car, and had only covered 150,000 kays when I bought it of its original owner. It has a nice tape deck and stacker in the boot for good measure. The colour is Night Glow (greeny/greyie) and has that mmm, mmm, mmm brown Ti interior. Car 2 1988 GTS1 I just bought this puppy over from perth. Modifications None that are gonna stay on the car, its going back to original spec. Its curently having a mechanical resto, so is off the road for a few days. Car 3 1989 GTS 2 I have had this car for about eighteen months. Modifications Apart from a set of twin thermo fans, and new exhaust, (stainless same as factory), this car is stock as a rock, and won't ever change. It's a pearler, and I reckon, (some will argue the point), that this car would have to be the most original, best GTS2 in Victoria. Thats my opinion anyway. (Modest aren't I). Claim to fame. My GTS 2 was featured in November 2003 unique cars magazine, and I was cordially invited to bring it along to the Prince Skyline 40th Anniversary at Beechworth. I have spent a lot of time and money restoring this car, and hopefully the white one will be almost as good within the next year or so.

Genuine 2 owner R30 TI Hatch. The current owner knew of it when it was originally sold and when traded back bought it for his wife, A genuine 140,000kms. It’s that gold colour and has everything that opens and shuts, anyway price is around $5000.00 which is subject to haggle. This is a really nice car. Pleae email [email protected] to get more details or phone me on 0419344322.

Hi Everyone, July the 31st (7/31) is known internationally as the seventh skyline day. This of course is the R31 skyline. Anyone interested in bringing their R31 along for a cruise on Saturday July the 31st is more than welcome. R31 Skyline club are organising a meet at Dandenong Sale Yards (Cheltenham Road, Dandenong) at 12.30 pm on this day for a cruise to Philip Island. I am looking for a swag of Ozzie GTS's for a photo shoot at Nissan Motor Company at 9am on th same day. We are trying really hard to get a heap of SVD Nissans on the day, so please, please please if you know anyone who has one of these cars, can you let them know, or if you yourself have one, bring it along. I do need numbers, so if you could get back to me on this it would be great. We would like to see if we can get about 100 nice R31's on a cruise to Philip Island.
