Help pls to identify (apparent) Prince GT inlet manifold
cazz replied to JohnC's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
This is gonna sound really stupid, but how do I post pics up here, can someone give me some tips? lol. Or can I just get a cd to someone higher up in the club, and get them to post them? hehehe! Sorry to hijack your thread. -
I Need Pictures of r31 gts stickers
cazz replied to Daniel's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
I have copies of all of the GTS 2 stickers (Red GTS 2, not the White GTS 1). There is someone in the R31 skyline club who has access to the stickers from the white car, but I have complete sets for sale, inlcuding the SVD Sticker for $55.00 -
Techicnal (RB30e) Running Issues
cazz replied to lukeskyline's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
You might wanna check your air flow meter if you are having problems under 2000 rpm. Just a thought. This is what you might mean by air regulator. AFM's are not all that cheap, but can cause a heap of agro if they are on the blink. I agree with SKY-031, 20 degress is a bit on the high side if you are running standard unleaded. If you want to run PULP, 20 degrees is OK. -
Help pls to identify (apparent) Prince GT inlet manifold
cazz replied to JohnC's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Skyline Geoff, I was honoured to be invited to the 40th Anniversary at Beechworth, and I am pretty sure from memory that there were 28 Prince's there. I think this total included every owner of a prince GT in Australia. As there are only about 40 cars in australia, and some of these owners had 2 or 3 of them, it would be pretty close. It was a great weekend, a real blast, it was freezing at beechworth though. 98 percent of these cars had webers on them, and sounded awesome. (The other 2 percent had L28 turbo's in them !!!!!). I have a heap of pics from the weekend if anyone is interested in having a look. -
R31 (Aussie) 5sp drivetrain strength?
cazz replied to Cameron McDonald's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
The only real weak link in any R31 is the tailshaft and diff. (Both ozzie made) Treat the Standard box nice, and it will be OK, a Series 3 manual box is stronger than a series 1/2 manual box. But if you want to have a car you don't have to worry about, no matter what, put a VL Turbo Box in or a RB25 Box, and a one piece tailshaft. Howdy by the way DVS-JET. -
I could get you a price on genuine at better than trade if you are interested. Please pm me and let me know.

Commodore VL vs Aussie R31 Skyline
cazz replied to friendlyfrog's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The only six cylinder commodore ever built to this day with an overhead cam was the VL. I traded a four month old VN V8 5 speed in on my first R31, a series 3 silhouette. The Nissan made the new commodore feel like a taxi. I am still a nissan girl with 3 R31's and a J31 Maxima. (Gotta stick to any nissan with a 31 in the model code). -

Thanks for your comments skylinegeoff, and if you read my further comments you will notice that I have already been had posts from other members to let me know that I may have taken some tongue in cheek comments the wrong way, and I have acknowledged that. I do not mean to offend anybody, the same as you say your comments to me were not offensive. But my question was, "How come you don't have any R31's in your club", I don't see how that can be construed as "at the table". Anyhow, I too have been a member of the NDSOC for a very long time (with a gap in between due to having kids), and have also made comment to the president and other members about the NDSOC being a zed car club, but it is all taken as constructive, and not offensive. I did take your comments personally and as elitist, and if I took these comments the wrong way, then I do apologise. I have not said anything on this thread that didn't happen, and I don't think I have missed anything that did. I don't want to be alienated from this club because of this thread. Bringing up my post about my ford is really irrelevent though, and was just another discussion, I don't understand why this was bought up by you. If this is only a discussion forum for skyline related matters, then I apologise again. I have stated my case the way (I thought) it was presented to me. I have apologised for perhaps taking what was said tongue in cheek as an insult, what more can I do. I don't want to get into a bloody arguement about it anymore, I am over it. Perhaps when you next meet me, you will see that I am not a trouble maker, that I just a normal person who likes to socialise with like minded people and have a good time. I don't wish to offend anyone, and get along famously with everyone in the NDSOC and prince skyline club, so your comments here, I feel once again are unjustified. But seeing as this is a forum, and I can't see your face, perhaps I have taken your comments the wrong way again. sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I can see now why I was advised by other people not to post this thread here. -

Hi EnricoPalazzo, perhaps you should read my post properly, and my further posts. I actually approached your members and started a conversation. I wasn't sitting by myself at that table, I was with other people, I did try to start a conversation up, but was put down. If you followed the thread, you would see that the whole thing has run it's course. We all kissed and made up. -

Thanks for the positive feedback. Thanks to you especially FunkyMonkey. It is great to see that not all the members have the attitude I was talking about, and that it really is a minority. (I am not the same Carolyn Kruger from Link Recruitment tho). I really appreciate this positive approach, and Andrew, (acsplit) thanks for you input too. My experience with the R31 club has always been positive, and my long association with the NDSOC has been great, so hopefully (despite my hot headed comments) we can get something positive happening with all the clubs. Looking forward to showing of my car one day. -

I really didn't mean to get up anyone's nose. I apologise if I have, but I would not have posted a thread here for no reason. I asked the guy sitting in the middle of the table, (who was one seat down from me on the same table) why they didn't have any R31's in the club. The definitive answer was "I think we have one", and he got a few chuckles out of that, and then "they can't keep up with us", and a few more chuckles. This is why I said the guys were acting elitist, I felt like they were trying to make me feel inferior. If this was said in jest, it was said in poor taste. As the owner of probably the best original GTS 2 in Melbourne, (I reckon australia), I was really put out by this. Nobody attempted to speak with me, and I was sitting at the same table, you all just turned your back on me to speak with more important people. If I have taken this the wrong way, then I am sorry, and I promise to make it up to you at the next meeting.. You were made to feel very welcome by the NDSOC, and I can assume you all had a good nite, there were some great cars there. I know Ron, his son and partner very well, and the KGC10 is awesome. I also love his R31 and drool everytime I see it, so it would be great to get some other model skylines on cruises, and perhaps we should be working hard to recruit these kind of cars and people. -

Thanks for the feedback guys. The NDSOC is the Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club. There were a number of SAU Victorian Members (I know that this is only a forum club at this stage), with their skylines at this general meeting last nite to find out about the SAU club becomming affiliated. I am unaware of any of their names, but they had a very expensive laptop with them demonstrating some of the members cars. I know that their views are not necessarily those of the club, but hopefully, by my having said something, these guys can understand that what they say and do (and they were representing the club, or so they said) reflects on the club as a whole. I don't mean to offend anybody either. -
If you guys want to form your own club, and have some sort of presence in the Affiliated Car Club arena, you really need to do some work on your PR skills. I was at the NDSOC general meeting last nite, and asked the question as to why you didn't actively promote skylines other than R32, 33 and 34. I was laughed at and told it was because the other skylines couldn't keep up! The Skyline marque began in 1960, not 1989, and this is a real insult to those of us passionate about our cars. If you don't want to have other Skylines in the club, call it the R32 onwards skyline club. I have two R31's a GTS 2 and a Ti. I also own a BA Fairmont and a New Ti Maxima. I have been involved with the NDSOC for over 15 years, and felt shame at the way your club represented itself to members of the NDSOC. The NDSOC prides itself on having many different types of cars in the club, you have one type, and it seems that this club believes that the type of car it represents started in 1989. The attitude of the boys at the meeting, (I thought anyway) was that of one upmanship and prestige. If this is how you want to run your club, let me say that once you all grow up, you will realise that no-one who is worth their salt will stick with you as an affiliated club. And I am now ashamed to be a member of this forum, seeing as I only have an R31.

18 x 8 ROH Drift R Wheels
cazz replied to cazz10's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I could have got Falkens as well for that sort of money, the new Falkens are crap, you wont get a better price than 410.00 each for the Goodyear F1's (the german ones) that are on these wheels. You shouldn't respond to posts that tell people they got ripped unless you really know what you are talking about. I just sold a brand new set of Falkens from my GTS 2 because they were absolute shit, and I replaced them with Yokohama again. The money I lost on the Falkens was huge, but they were shit and worth losing the money to have decent tyres on the car
