  1. Sorry for the dodgey photos, my camera phone is stuffed; these are from my Iconia tablet...
  2. Mine rocked up today, I'm waiting to fit it when my exhaust arrives from the US in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know! After I get Osiris on my ecu I'm planning to fit the test pipes and run a single 3 inch cat further back. I had a catalytic convertor and a flex pipe on my AE111 that I bought from N Power, and I had it for over 20,000km before I sold the car.
  3. I should hopefully be available as well. (Assuming work don't send me somewhere stupid between now and then). Be good to meet up with other V owners
  4. Just confirming these fit the V35 coupe? If so hit me up with a PM for payment details if there are any left I'm in Brisbane
  5. The N16 Hatch isn't made in Japan like the sedan or the N15 before it... it is made in England! Just something to think about...
  6. I wish this could be retrofitted to my Sony XAV72BT... I've got an android tablet and phone and use the phone as a GPS I'm surprised there isn't a media PC in 7 inch in-dash format running Android yet!
  7. Awesome! So you are planning to turbo it in the future? Good luck with the conversion!
  8. Legend, Only reason I was keen on finding another stocky wheel is the Nissan paint on the wheels is pretty awesome and it isn't just flat silver, something called hyper silver or something like that? (my old man works for a Nissan dealer) But your Merc's wheels will probably be the same thing (unlike VW's that have flat paint on their wheels!) If it turns out well I'll probably give it a go Thanks mate, Glen
  9. Hi everyone, Wow crap day! Took my car to the usual detailer I use in Annerley... picked it up and drove it home, noticed a flake of paint missing from my front bumper - (serves me right for being lazy and letting someone else wash it, live in a share house... it doesn't even have a hose!) went back to them and got the usual 'that didn't happen here' crap... Anyway I now need to get my front bumper repainted in QX1 Mates have previously had cars painted (particular R33's) and had the paint flaking off the bumper due to it being plastic and flexing... I want a proper job as the '35 is my pride and joy - Only just got the front windows tinted on Friday Luckily I fly to lots of random places with work, so I can afford to be without my car for a few days from time to time. Also need to get the back passenger side quarter panel and bumper repainted (the car has a tiny pin dint just on the join and I am a perfectionist!) While I'm being OCD I'll be chasing a front wheel as mine has minor rash on it, given the immaculate condition of the rest of them I'd rather just find another scmick '35 wheel and swap it on than get it sanded back and refinished Any advised panel beaters would be appreciated, seen to much dodgy stuff done on cars to just rock up and see how it goes to any random panel beater. I live in Moorooka but I'm happy to travel for a quality job (and its plastic so it wont rust; I'd rather spend more to get it done properly than rush, do it on the cheap and have to get it done multiple times) Thanks guys!
  10. Those wheels are amazing! Maybe if I save up all of my loose change for about 10 years I'll be able to afford a set.... Good luck with the sale!
  11. Hey guys, Haven't been on the net for a few days (Did a trip from Mackay to Capella for work and had a few network installs along the way) Chris is 100% right, its a plug that looks very similar to the one that plugs in to the climate control I merely found some wire the same colour as the ones I was tapping and went upstream to preserve the original connector - if you can buy a plug in adapter from Chris then do it! - I used lengths of wire and shrink wrapped the whole thing up because that is just good practice. I had it really easy considering there was already a Pioneer/Carrozzeria unit in the car, so I didn't really need to buy any adapter harnesses (though I bought a Metra 707551), and I already had the dash surround I would advise against buying a Metra 70-7551, as it sounds like crap! I had it in there for a couple of days before I could get my car into my Father's shed and actually do things properly, and the difference was night and day (to the random harness that came in the car from Japan) I'm sure either Chris or Commsman will supply a kit to wire an aftermarket head unit into a V35 with Bose audio controls Also pulled about 5kg of wire (no joke) out of the car that was associated with my standard antennas, (and the GPS antennas and God only knows what other antennaes were previously on my dash) it did laps around the car under the carpet. If I had my time again I would have bought an ebay camera that clips in where the number plate light goes. Coworker gave (or lent... I'm not sure) me one this week that he bought from ebay for a Z33 and it looks like it will fit our cars Sounds like I'll go for the tuner and front camera then Just got the front windows tinted on the Skyline today too (haven't seen it all week since spending half the weekend working on it)
  12. Well I finally put a new head unit in my car; runs the Bose amps and speakers: tried the Metra 70-7551 but found the sound quality was woeful; swapped back to the Japanese harness that was being used on the Carrozzeria system that was already in the car Sony XAV72BT - US Model (I wonder if I can make it DVD region free easily... no idea and not to bothered if I cant) Also installed a reversing camera and got the steering wheel controls working (PAC-SWI-PSv1) Next step on the Audio front will be to add a digital TV Tuner (and maybe a front camera: I just need to find a way to easily switch between the two cameras on one RCA input), and looking at if its possible to give my car back its dual zone climate control (G35 forums suggest its just soldering on an extra button and replacing the blank?) Pro's of this head unit: dedicated reversing camera input + reverse trigger excellent bluetooth handsfree (better than the dedicated Nokia one in my last car, and better than all the ones I drive in hire cars - current falcon/commodore/ i45/corolla/xtrail) cons: slow over USB (slow to change tracks etc) region locked to USA (but its half the price of an Australian one!) Anyway less talk more photos: Not bad for a total cost of about 600 AUD
  13. I'm running the (factory) Japanese audio controls with the PAC SWI-PSv1 (Head unit is a Sony XAV-72BT - Sony and Pioneer use the same PAC kit) Install is pretty straight forward (though it will be harder for you obviously, but you only connect 3 wires from the standard controls to the PAC interface ( green and red with the resistor values that are marked in the kit, I believe it was 47 ohm and 150 ohm) Yellow wire goes to ground, and then the PAC interface needs a ground and switched 12 volts The one I am using plugs in directly to the back of the head unit
  14. Would have been great to come but I'm already busy tomorrow arvo (only just noticed this now!) I'll come next time
  15. Hey everyone, Quick shout out: I hope this is in the right section I ended up importing a V35 350GT through J-spec. I am really happy with how everything went, and the car I got is immaculate 6 speed manual, leather/suede interior, low Kilometres
  16. Thanks mate, yep I do have the amp Could I get you to PM me the price for the lead kit + antenna adapter? the supplier of my double din unit was going to supply a Metra 70-7551 with it, but I'd rather buy the right gear from you! I probably don't need it as its got a Carrozzerria unit in there already, but I'd rather only pull it apart once...
  17. Hi Guys, So I've searched (and searched, and searched) My car used to have a Bose system in it (in Japan - according to Nissan Fast anyway) and its been swapped out for a funky Carrozzeria unit that is largely useless to me (absent hdd = nothing works!) Looking at buying a Pioneer or JVC unit to run with the standard bose speakers/amp etc Because its got a Carrozzeria unit in it, it should already have some kind of ISO plug back there right? And a 'normal' type of antennae plug? Has anyone had anything similar? I imagine taking the Skyline dash apart to check is a heck of a lot more involved than taking most dash's apart... Just trying to work out if I need to order Chris Rodger's BOSE kit or not Thanks guys
  18. Meet up sounds good I've now got my car, picked it up yesterday and got it registered Desperately needs front window tint and a CD or DVD player (no hard drive in the Carrozzeria TV/DVD = nothing works!) so they will be first on the list over the next few weeks. Already fitted clear front indicators, and I have a Stillen Z-tube to go on it too That and it really needs a wash; I'm surprised at how dirty the car is. The guy who complied my Levin in Sydney at least gave the car a wash... Maybe I should try to sell the genuine 100% JDM road grime?
  19. Well looks like I didn't get the hard drive caddy is it just a standard hard drive in a caddy? Also, Sometimes the screen will pop out and sometimes not... is there a trick to that? Thanks for your help!
  20. Actually if anyone has a band expander (and knows what frequency etc it is) and could let me know their experiences with it that would be great
  21. You guys are inspiring me... please don't inspire to much! How will the standard gearbox hold up to those numbers?
  22. Awesome! Thats a great result I was trying to work out what I'll eventually do for an aftermarket ECU, I think I'll follow in your footsteps Two of my mates have had cars tuned at PITS and they swear by him. Was installation of the Osiris difficult? How loud is the Motordyne Shockwave when you lay the boot into it?
  23. Thanks for the info guys I guess I'll just play around with it when I get it and try a random ebay band expander and see how it goes Looking forward to V35 ownership!
