  1. YAY the R31 got a mention. do that and ull keep the fkn thing tho. classics are too good to part with if u look after them. haha. which means: buy cheap R31, get off p's and buy ur turbo import, turbo import as your daily driver while u do more work on ur R31, crash turbo import, R31 becomes important again and ull drive around with a big grin on ur face at how clever u were to keep the old girl not to mention an rb30 is cheap, easy and uncomplicated
  2. this thread made me laugh so fkn much. so basically we've had exactly zero progress on deciphering it? and yes, holden turbo'd the jap rb30 cos they are fully sick aussies.
  3. still going mate? looking for eng to drop into my r30 before i go on holiday. i'd call but its currently 4am. dont think youd talk to me. lol. complete l28 and or parts would be great.
  4. Im having to pay 150 for a sleeve. have to do the work (not the work on the unit itself) myself. mechanics simply cant be trusted. shop around for your brake specialists. brand new parts for these? :S if you find one let me know.
  5. forget all that mate. MR30s bahahahaha
  6. Are you talking about brake specialists mate? mechanic says he can't, or shouldnt he be a mechanic at all?

  8. oh come on! the old r30s go well enough with a bit of love. its not about the $$ its about the time you have to do the work... if you know how. lol. if it already had manual trans then you can drop a heap of gear in it with not a great deal of conversion work so there!
  9. Just go and check your fuel lines as well. my r30 needed a bit of a pumping cos it was sitting a while low on fuel. maybe? just maybe?
  10. lolol. male p plater but u see... i have an mr30 so i dont get picked on... although by the time im done i should. but i only got it cos u cant beat a classic, well you can but thats not the point. its complicated :S
  11. Every now and then i think it would have been better to save and get an R33... but then i read this and it makes me smile. haha. and why are VNs being mentioned!?! i know this is an old thread but u can buy 5 of them for $400 and make one roadworthy car. but it will still be a VN
  12. weren't the ti's aus spec? although probably not stock turbo... dunno. lol
  13. You crazy kids and your extractors. i had to pay the full quoted price to have less noise... less attention bcos im still on silly p's. O_o BUT... the patrol headers sound a little too good to be true.. now to hunt for some money to waste.
  14. South West Victoria guys. Car is daily driver with kicks to boot cos i like to play. Lower control arms with the ball joint ghostrider? one piece assembly as noted earlier. that would be fan-bloody-tastic and i was told only real option for brake master cylinder is re-sleeve for 200+ does my mechanic know what he's saying? Geez ur good Mags. jst checked out that ebay item.
  15. Mags is the man. agreed. they are one piece to replace. good point about critical components. what about brakes though? :S
