This is it, folks! Our final event of the year... The big one, you all know and love - Putty Road! It goes without saying, but this is the biggest cruise in our calendar each year! A nice long drive, with a hearty pub feed at the end! Do you need much more enticing than that!?!? So make sure you wash the car, get your cameras out, block out the calendar, and get ready! We know you're all as excited as we are, so make sure you lock in the details and date below: Date: Sunday 8th December 2024 Meet Location: Corner Windsor Road and Groves Avenue McDonald's / KFC (3 Groves Avenue, Mulgrave) Meet Time: Meet at 9:00am for a 9:30am departure Destination: The Royal Hotel, Singleton (84 George St, Singleton) Map: https://tinyurl.com/saunsw-puttyrd Itinerary: We will meet at McDonald's / KFC on Windsor road and from there will head onto Putty Road. There will be a break at the Grey Gum Cafe (8679 Putty Rd, Putty) which we should reach at approximately 11:30am. For all the Newcastle folks this will be a good point to join up. From here we will continue on to Singleton for lunch. Please remember to fill up prior to heading onto Putty Road. There will not be a fuel stop until Singleton. To those running on E85, Freedom Fuel (old United) at Vineyard on Windsor Road has started selling there. At Singleton there is a range of servo's available including BP, Shell and Caltex. There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior! Back by popular demand - we're lining up another Old Pac Run! Get your cars ready for one of the best night runs on the calendar! The end of 2024 fast approaches!!! So before the 'storm' hits, we think it's worth enjoying a little 'calm'! How better to enjoy some calm with a chill social out at Aqua Golf! It's back!!!! The story of this event starts many years ago, where we had lost some very dear friends & members of the club to some devastating illnesses. Yes, this sadly isn't an original story, but, it's a reminder of how important relationships can be, and the lasting effects we can all have on each other within our community. In memory of these members, and to honour the ever-lasting memories and lessons they left us with, the SAUNSW Legacy Cruise was born! Our Legacy Cruise is a charity event we hold, to raise money for various charities, to try and help those that need help most! We'd love for you all to join us on this crowd-favourite cruise, where we head to Robertson Pie Shop, to raise money for those that need a helping hand! So, without any more ado, here are the details: Date: Saturday 24th August Meet Location: KFC - The Crossroads Casula (Corner of Beech Road and Parkers Farm Place) Meet Time: Meet at 9:30am for a 10:00am departure Destination: Robertson Pie Shop Map: https://tinyurl.com/saunsw-robertson We will meet at KFC at the Crossroads and from here head onto the Hume Highway. From this we will turn off onto Picton Road and follow this all the way into the Prices Motorway eventually reaching Albion Park. The meet location is in front of St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Tongarra Road at around 11:00am - 11:30am. Here we can make a quick rest stop to stretch our legs and allow everyone to catch up before heading off through Macquarie Pass. If any lower west members would like to come this would be a good meet point. From this it is a short trip up to Robertson Pie Shop for some of their famous pies and deserts. There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. Make sure you have a full tank of fuel at the initial meeting point as there will be no time to refuel on the way. Really sad news to hear!! I’ve scheduled a post on our SAU FB and Insta for later this morning, which I hope will do him justice!! I tried fitting in some quotes from you all into the post, but stupid FB and Insta have a character limit… Neil meant a great deal to many people… I remember emailing with him early in my tenure in the committee to get him his (at the time) new Life Member card… he was pretty chuffed - I could tell he loved SAU and it would be from the memories made with all of you… Rest in Peace Neil!!
