  1. Mate, if you've had it in the boot and not set the low pass filter on and haven't bridged it....then it will sound like crap and you won't be able to hear it. Try it in the boot with correct set up and you should have no problems feeling the bass in the car....I have a single 12 running nowhere near the power you got and it can make my ears bleed.
  2. that is likely to get you beaten up.
  3. Mine actually encourages me to go work on the car. She likes the fact that I'm outside getting some fresh air and doing something worth while than stuck on the computer inside.....working in IT means im always on the computer and that shits her more than my car.....
  4. Oh....I have also changed my coil packs and forgot to tighten the clamp for my piping going into the throttle body.....changed the coil packs 3 times before figuring it out
  5. Well I had a severe knocking and vibration coming from the rear left of my car. After driving around for a few days it progressively got worse and worse.....spoke to a few people and thought that either CV or Diff was going. Organised a rental car so I could get to work while my car was being repaired and in the meantime called my uncle who is a mobile mechanic to take a quick look at it and help confirm the issue. Anyway....he jacks up the rear left wheel off the ground and wiggles it.....FARKKEN wheel nuts were loose to the point where the wheel was knocking around against them.....uncle tightened all my wheelnuts for me and I stood there looking like an IDIOT...... Had to try and cancel the rental car which the girl was kind enough to let me do without losing my $100 deposit. But i learnt something very important that day.
  6. was it cold when you took the photo? Does the car seem to run rougly? Have you ever had it tuned? usually smoke will be very white/bluish if it is burning oil. If its the head gasket you should notice poor performance/drivability.
  7. Buy a Fuel Cut Defender.... www.hks.com.au
  8. You can also get plug in wolf 3d units that don't require wiring .... same as the powerfc so no benefit there. It's mainly to do with who you want to tune it (are there any tuners local or near you) and how much fiddling you want to do yourself. Personally i don't see the point in paying big dollars to get a decent tune and then fiddling with it myself and throwing it off.
  9. My bet would be a faulty airflow meter or maybe on the way out. Have you hooked up the unichip to a dyno yet to check all the signals. I would do that first to make sure it isn't sensor related. I have a unichip on my R33 and was experiencing similar issues to you. turned out that my airflow metre was dropping voltage occasionally and throwing off the ecu. Also if an after market exhaust has been fitted with dump pipe then I would check that the O2 sensor has been installed correctly and is in good working order as I have also had this go on me and causes all sorts of fueling issues. IMO i wouldn't be running anymore than 0.8 bar of boost on the stock turbo (12psi) as you will start snapping fins of the turbine wheel due to them being ceramic.
  10. Hi guys, I'm looking for a series 1 R33 GTST bonnet, undamaged (except for minor scratches) preferably in Gun metal or may be interested if it is black or white. I you have one for sale or available please let me know. Would prefer local sellers as the item is rather bulky. Thanks Andrew
  11. Ummm surely the car would be immobilized when locked and left....how does immobilizing it again help if the thief has already bypassed it once? Personally without an alarm and a hidden kill switch and a club lock I wouldn't even take my car out of the garage.
  12. ummm to be exact you cannot tune the ecu directly, however you can use and interceptor unit such as the safc or unichip etc and tune that to alter the signals to the stock ecu. Personally unless you plan to modifye more in the future it may not be worth the dollars.
  13. Well thinking about it logically. If the clutch is no longer engaging properly, then the car may be acting as though the clutch pedal is permanently depressed. Can you roll the car with it in gear, eg try pushing it whilst in gear. It's obviously something to do with the clutch....get it on a tow truck and take it to a reputed import garage close to where you live. Either way its going to cost some dollars to repair. The stocko organic clutches are pretty weak....and considering the age of your car it may not have taken to kindly to a 12psi boost setting. Grab a single plate Heavy Duty ceramic clutch to replace it or if you don't have the cash, source a stocko replacement. Good luck mate.
  14. Geezzz....glad i never let my gf drive my car.....just confirmed my fears of doing so. but yeah....in regards to the car, id say its not just an alignment issue, how fast and hard did she hit the curb....must of been a bit of an impact to cause suspension damage.
  15. The police used to bring a wrx cop car to WSID on wednesdays. Even did some runs to.
  16. Any other distinguishing features? Stickers etc
  17. Yeah....I have a single 12" Fusion sub and I only have it loud when im cruising down the freeway....but i still like the sound to be balanced.
  18. What sort of settings do they have?? On/Off?
  19. I'm pretty sure some semi's aren't street legal. My advice would be to check first.
  20. If this is a genuine HKS turbo...why is there a Garret stamped on the housing? just curious.
  21. Sorry to say it....but right now your priority is transportation and if you get an import it will likely be off the road more than on....I only bought an import as a second car to have some fun with and it has cost me already 10K above the purchase price. Before that I had 2 79 toyota landcruiser utes (diesels) and an 85 323 hatchback. Best idea is to get a laser or sumthing and save up all the money you'll save for the r32 in a few years.
  22. thanks for the help
  23. Hi Guys, I have just had what I believe is the rear left CV joint $hit itself. There is a knocking noise coming from the rear left and a shudder through the car at speed. I've been told that no one in WA rebuilds them so I'm looking at getting a second hand part. The place I called is Jap Parts Plus WA, are they any good? Is there a better supplier to contact for this? I'm wanting to get this sorted ASAP as I am reliant on this car to get to work until i bring my other car over from NSW I have an r33 GTST series 1. I'm up north near Joondalup and don't want to drive the car too far in it's current state. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  24. Thanks guys, Appreciate it.
  25. Hi Guys, Sorry if this has been answered before....can anyone tell me what are the better suspension specialists in Perth/WA that know skylines/imports. Cheers Andrew
