Speaking with Pete last night. He is going to quote me the normal price and a SAU group buy price today! Will get the appropriate break down of costs IE plenum with throttle body and fuel rail, plenum without throttle body, plenum and fuel rail. etc etc.. When have all the exact info, will post up a proper group buy. Again this is here just to generate more interest. Thanks, Matt -

Yep, agree! Thats fine. Figured I'd put it here just so more people are made aware of this quicker. Will go through the appropriate channels and post it up in the right section when we have a rough idea on numbers interested and the final pricing and timeframe. Thanks for leaving it. -

Back to back testing on my car. RB25, CP pistons, Nitto I beams, Envy Dyno head, Platinum products 272/278 cams, Supertech solid lifter conversion, valves, springs, etcetc. gt3788 turbo, 0.99rear, 6boost mani, 50mm gate, 3.5in exhaust, Haltech platinum pro, E85.. limit is 10,300rpm, 34psi. Gets tuned in a few weeks with the plazmaman manifold so I will let you know on figures IF all goes to plan. Expecting to get very very close to 700hp. (Getting more cash together, just bought a F1A procharger kit for my XR8 so things are tight at the moment - my tow car lol) -
Hey all. I have been speaking to Pete from Hypertune about having a plenum made to suit my car. Also thinking about back to back testing it vs the plazmaman that I currently have on my RB25. Then thought if all goes well a few more of you guys would probably be interested in one. Hes willing to offer a group buy also, and actually making a production run on Hypertune RB25 plenums. I've told Pete that I'll let this run for a week or so and see the interest it generates and get back to him and it will be decided from there. This is where we are at so far. I also added pictures he sent to me. Hi Matt, Thanks for the call yesterday. Some pics attached of what we currently make for the RB25. We are thinking of making a more "production" version and this might be a good opportunity to do it. It will still look very similar to the one pictured. It will look quite similar to the one pictured but rather than use part of the standard manifold we would machine a billet head flange. I've come up with 4 different manifold options: 1. Inlet manifold to suit standard TB (or existing TB) and standard fuel rail 2. Inlet manifold to suit standard TB (or existing TB) + billet fuel rail to suit top feed injectors 3. Inlet manifold + Hypertune 90mm TB + to suit standard fuel rail 4. Inlet manifold + Hypertune 90mm TB + billet fuel rail to suit top-feed injectors I'd like to sell 10 units - a combination of any of the 4 options would be fine. Since we'd be selling 10, I'll price them at 25-30% below retail price also. I haven't quite worked out what retail price would be but with the manufactugin techniques I have in mind I'm hoping they will come out considerably cheaper than our current line of intakes without compromising performance. We will still use the same plenum as the one pictured. Let me know what you think so far. Regards, Pete Lewin | Hypertune

No, they just look and take pictures/document it.

Yeah had this argument with a cop. They are just a bunch of absolute morons.. They are quick to defect an import and pull all stops to get you, but when you've been rolled bashed robbed and bleeding they will deal with you when they can be bothered and end up telling you there is nothing they can do. But have a modified car its like your killing babies. Arseholes. I let them know it to.. doesnt do much but makes me feel better getting it off my chest.

Drill out oil returns, restrictors in oil feeds. Drill out and re tap a threads to suit the bigger RB26 studs or head bolts.

They they are onto varex's and the like... They put the car on a hoist and look at everything.

Just went through this 2 weeks ago. Be aware that they will not only test your exhaust DB reading, but also pop the bonnet and sus out things like atmo bov, uncovered air filter(heat sheild is not legal), atmo catch can etc etc that they will fail you on. They also put the car up on the hoist and go over the exhaust system to see if its been tampered with. Its all documented and pics are taken. They will note that exhaust bolts and been recently un-done/done up from fresh marks, dirty hand prints showing its been 'tampered' with. The guy in Granville was pedantic with it all and reasonably cluey. You can't pay extra to 'just pass it', its not like the dodgy pinks and blues people get. Rumor has it, the guy in campbelltown is more 'forgiving.' So will try him next time. However, even that he knew it was tampered with, at the time he did the test, the exhaust was under the limit and nothing caught his eye that was illegal so he passed it, but again took pics of everything. oh and the plate with holes in it, between a flange works a treat. Just be sure to make it looks as close as you can to a gasket.

So between a GTX3582, FP 3582 HTA, FP 3586 HTA, GT3788r, and the GTX3794R all with roughly 1.06r housings, chasing 500rwkw+ on a Rb25 what would be the 'best' turbo? running E85. Having an argument with a mate lol. Ive got money on a the 3582hta or the 3788r with some serious boost. I think the 3794R is over kill, hes saying its the 'only' turbo that will do the job (from the selected choices). Mate wants to upgrade from his cheap 'chinese T70' turbo off ebay, i suggested my GTX35r so I can go something bigger/better. He said nup, its shit and wont be any better than what hes got.
-
No its not on the car yet. But from reading on here and other online forums, the GTX35R will spool faster and produce more power than its brother GT35.. now reading that, you would think a GTX35R would spool faster than the 3788? I would of liked a slightly bigger turbo, but was convinced otherwise because saying that even a GT35/GTX35 will be really laggy on a 25. Too late now I spose. Unless I sell it and go for a borgwarner or something. Am chasing between 450-500rwkw. Been told by just about all performance shops that the GTX I have at the moment will shit it in.. Guess we'll see on tuning day..

When I got my car, I started looking on E-bay for turbos, turbo kits, exhausts, intercoolers and everything you can think of - still do, but not for cheap stuff anymore. Being new to the skyline scene, found a turbo kit on ebay for 800 bucks!! was thinking awesome, cheap! done! lol. GT35r, manifold, dump pipe, wastegate, everything.. after a few months of reading on here, and researching, more reading and then having another look properly I soon reaslied you cant go for cheap shit. if you want the power and reliablity. Before knowing any better, had a budget of 4-5k for an engine build and bolt ons. From pricing stuff on ebay LOL. Now im at almost 20k(from other builds on here its still not that pricey) and the car is still not running. Putting things into perspective, the cheap ebay complete turbo kit for $800 that sounded like a bargain, just covers the cost of my turbosmart 50mm wastegate. Turbo by itself was $2200. You can do it for cheaper, buy cheap turbos and stuff, and make ok power and probably be happy.. but for how long? Do it right the first time, spend the little extra to save you money in the long run. For a cheaper turbo, hypergear are nice, personally I would look at Borgwarner.http://www.himni-racing.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=25_288&zenid=s7s06ugd1cui7p2aoas5usbt61

so how does one of these fancy GTX35R's 1.06 rear compare agaisnt the the GT3788 with similar rear. Say on a RB25, 28psi and E85. from what I read, the GTX turbos have it over the GT turbos for spool and power. Reason I ask, is because I have a GTX35R 1.06 rear lol for my RB25.

Where in sydney are you? price on pick up for balancer? -
Godzilla - NICE! But was that the standard front bar, option 3 or something? Mine is different but has the TK little sunk in plaque in it. Man I want those wheels.. Time to start sending some emails to TK about it.. Hopefully find some. Will keep the ones I have for track days, skid pan, drags etc etc, thrasher wheels really. Mine has different seats. GTR 33 seats which I was told is factory. Coil cover is black with TK in silver on it. Wheels and HKS coilovers.. <-- All done by previous owner. Plus my cooler piping is different, both pipes run down the left hand side to the cooler. Which also has a TK badge welded to it. My engine is being rebuilt because the stock one failed, not because I wanted to. As far as bolt ons go, 6boost manifold(spoke to them 2 days ago bout changing from 50mm external port to twin 38mm ports), swapping my 50mm pro-gate for twin Tial 38mm gates. Decided on a GTX35R with split divided T4 1.06 rear. Am considering changing from a plazmaman plenum to something else because of issues with fuel rails and stuff not fitting. But apparently plazmaman have something to fix this. We'll see. And just LOL, 75coupe your a f**ken joke, f**ken pathetic and a f**ken loser. Go be a dick somehwere else. Theres always one.
-
75coupe, just as I started to think you were somewhat decent, I won’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said but thank you, I'm challenged by your "unique" point of view. You have an open mind and a mouth to match. As for Rolls, don't let your mind wander, its far too little to be let out on its own. Thinking really isn't your strong point, is it? Why don't you freeze your teeth and give your tongue a sleigh ride. Theres only so many times you can go around in circles and go over the same thing. Now that your both finished having delusions of competence, feel free to not comment in this thread and let me enjoy and build my ugly series 1. So may I have the pleasure of you both absence? Thanks.

Found this that for some reason didnt upload with the others. The build itself is not rare unique and different, but the car itself is. Thats what im saying. If it wasnt the car that it is, I wouldnt have a skyline or have grown to like them. The car is what it is whichever way you look at it, and thats a TK, reguardless of the larger bolt on parts. As I said when I have more parts, more pics and theres a fair amount of progress happening with the car I'll start a build thread.
