LOL so do I.. Its got me thinking. But I can't leave that ugly gay cross over pipe, small turbo and intercooler. Just can't. I just want it to put the wrath of god into me and anyone in the car when it comes on boost. That feeling of your eyeballs being sucked to the back of your head while being pinned. I want it to make me scream fast n furious when I change gears 8 times lol..
-
It is the real deal, it does have tomei cams which im in 2 minds about keeping or upgrading. It did have forged internals that are being replaced with new forged internals. Which is why I was so pissed when it dropped compression warranting a rebuild. Some of the TK suspension is there, swaybars, strut braces and bodybrace etc, but its been changed to HKS coilovers - already on the car when purchased. Im spewing that it doesnt have the standard TK wheels, I really am, as much as I like the ones on it, I want a set of the TK ones. The turbo has been changed again before we got it, a friend says its a 3071 or 76 or something, I dont know, Its definately a ball baring garrett turbo.. i'll take it to GCG and get them to check it one of these days. But it did pull harder than a 13yr old. But after the initial hard hit it seemed to taper off.. like it wasnt a constant pull to limiter. It does have a TK ecu, runs 1 bar standard but doesnt boost cut til 1.7bar and rev limiter is at 9200. unless the tacho is out. Its also got a nismo carbon clutch, nismo diff, nismo fuel pump and injectors, also a TK fuel pump and fuel reg, coil cover, gauges, foot rest, intercooler, dash, GTR interior, all the bodykit peices have TK badges on them. 2 mechanics have looked at it, both said its the real deal, 1 even offered more then double what I paid for it and it wasn't running cause of low comp etc etc. 200 bucks for the badge on the back, it was flogged apparently, according to the importer. The only peice of the bodykit I could find was the rear spoiler and it was $3000 when I managed to find one. $160 for a TK gear nob. Heres a fun fact though, When I managed to get the translation part down with someone from TK in Japan, I had to give them the build number, body number, car colour and a few other small details for them to comfirm if it was real, and they did, Its an Option 2 Tommy Kaira R33 GTsT M25 salad maker lol.. I've got that email floating around somewhere. I had to give them my name/details and stuff so they can mail me a copy of a certificate of authenticity and builder name , that should of been with the car that I obviously didnt have. See, i've spent alot of time on finiky stuff to do with this car, so its special to me now, some love it, some hate it, some say its just a fancy kit. I know what it is, I know how rare it is, I know its genuine. I've thought long and hard about leaving it standard TK spec, but also thought there are others out there, so why not have the only TK33 that has 700hp lol. Man one day if your in sydney, when Im actually home, feel free to drop me a line and look at it for yourself. Im usually only home 1 week of the month.. But when it is finished one day, it will end up on SAU drag days, cruises, drift and skid pan days and whatever else comes along.
-
I do think its something special, thats the only reason I got it. I wouldnt buy a 'normal' GTST. Its a rare genuine car. You see skylines every single day of the week, you dont see a Tommy every day of the week, that makes it special to me. Its rare, so I want to leave it numbers matching. If it was a normal average 33 like yours for example, than I may be more inclinded drop a 30 bottom end in it because it wouldnt be special or worth much to me but with my car, that block is staying. But think what you want. PS. its more than a body if you actually get to have a real good look at one. Yes im new to the skylines, originally it was bought for my mrs as she used to own an R33 GTST and she wanted another one as a fun car. My exact words " if you really have to, get another 33, they are shit and ugly, so it wont matter if you smack something and bend it but I would prefer we get something else like an MPS or something". Couple of weeks later, driving past this Tommy every day to and from work, it got the better of me and I had to go and have a look. I havent seen another one like it ever on the road and I travel all over Australia for work, see plenty of skylines, never another Tommy. Well except for a Tommy Kaira WRX, not sure if it was real or not. Told the mrs about it, went and had another look, took it for a test drive and I was suprised more so than impressed, took ownership and since then the car has grown on me so much that I call it mine lol. Now, I love 33's. I really do. Im even contemplating trading my XR8 in on a R33 GTR for my daily which is a massive step for me. This thread is a bit of both. Im asking for advice, but im also telling what I do and dont want. If i said I dont want a 30 bottom end, its that farking simple I dont, dont start ragging on the car, and saying im stupid for not spending the money on a 30 bottom end. I have my reasons for not wanting one, ive explained them, take it or leave it, dont push the point that I should get one. A stroker is still a good idea, but again 4 out 5 tuners have said if you stay a 25 just carry more revs on board. If I was at a show, and saw a 2 skylines, 1 RB25/30/28/83710/39/75coupe/69 whatever.. said he/she/it is 'only' making 450rwkw. I'd be like oh.. ok.. and probably walk away. If the other is an Rb25 making 450rwkw, I would think wow, impressive and actually want to talk to the owner/builder about whats been done and blah and ask if we can be friends hold hands and boost off into the sun set together.
-
Yeah, see the thing im facing is its a genuine tommy.. numbers matching block and body and blah. I know alot of you wont think much about it BUT I want to keep it numbers matching. That rules out a 30 bottom end, plus im dont think much of a 30 bottom end anyway, which leaves me with strokers. Yes the idea is nice, but i'd rather carry more rev's on board and ring the 25's neck. If for argument sake the turbo isnt on full boost til 4000-5000rpm, it wont phase me because im spinning to 9000rpm+ so I have 4000-5000rpm of boost. Most people spin to what 7500-8000rpm? Smaller turbo comes on 3000-4000.. holds til 8000.. or whatever, hopefully you see my point. It all adds up in my head. Plus spending 5-8k on a decent stroker doesnt warrant enough of a gain or bragging rights to justify the dollars spent in my opinion anyway. Then theres the problem of possibly falling off boost between gear changes, particularily with 2nd to 3rd change. .. I know its not a skyline, but a friend had a similar problem with a 430rwkw supra. soon as he went to E85 and got re-tune, no more problems and boosting alot earlier to the point of getting rid of the T51R and going to a 76mm turbo. But he's also building a car that takes 4kms to come on boost and paint lines at Mach 1. Just because he can. My point is, good tune, E85, built motor, lots of revs will not be slow and laggy like people may think. Will see once its up and running. If its no good, change it. Simple.

75coupe - if you read right, before researching and thinking biggest is best, I got that turbo for a case of beer. Thats not the turbo going on the car, its just the turbo sitting here at the moment. It will end up being sold or used for an ash-tray or something.. Rolls - yeah I know what your getting at, I do.. and it makes plenty of sence. But I dont want anyone elses money pit. Whos to say I buy one thats been done and end up changing everything anyway. May aswell start from scratch and do it my way. Plus, im not worried about the money side, nor the re-sale when its time to sell. I just look at it as my project and a hobby. PS. Ive got a stock fuel rail and reg, and 555cc nismo injectors to.. offer? Dajae - Not really interested in a stroker at the moment, as said, that turbo wont end up on the car. re: comments to 75coupe. Will end up with an EFR or a GTX35R instead. http://www.rhdjapan.com/nissan/r33-skyline-gts-t/fenders-doors <-- for the wide kit. I'll start a project build thread when most of the parts arrive, I've got all the pics together and its actually starting to take shape.

Ahh, I know alot of people are going to bag the rear spoiler lol. I did think about changing to a GTR one with carbon blade. But, its a factory tommy one with the little plaque on it and it really has grown on me, so it will probably stay. Exterior wise it will pretty much stay the way it is, except the rear wheels will end up on the front, the front ones will be sent out to get the offset changed, widened and more dish added, a bloke near me does this sort of stuff at $250-300 a wheel. Have toyed with the idea of carbon fibre bonnet, front bar carbon canards, carbon B pillar covers and carbon fibre 'side steps' bolt on under the rear of the side skirts and another peice under the rear bar behind the wheel.. But will see what the future holds and what the mrs will allow lol. Already been told NO to the widebody kit from RHDjapan. I figured wider the guards the wider the rims = bigger dish, she didnt see it that way. lol

BMYHOE - Im not concered with an engineers cert and epa at this stage. If it comes to that will cross that bridge when it happens. As I said im not worried about defects. Rolls - I dont want to buy someone elses work. Id rather do it myself so at the end of the day I know its done and done right, I know whats in it, what its capable of and the satisfaction from it all. But having said that it will never be 100% finished, there will always be something that can be improved if that all makes sence. Eat-me - I started out wanting 400rwhp lol, my XR8 has 400hp/560nm but its 1800kg, most people think its fast. So i figure same power in a lighter car, awesome, then after talking to tuners and $$ I am/want to spend they are saying i should start looking at atleast 450rwkw. So I got excited a little and am running with the idea. 1 tuner in particular seems to think i'll get to 700rwhp from his previous builds. Dajae- If you could get the name of those brakes that would be cool, i'll sus them out. Fairly confident i'll pick up the D2's at this stage though. These are the pics I have at the moment, 50mm gate, plenum, fuel pump etc etc.. til I transfer more off my old phone. I havent got any of the actual engine as its still not built or complete. The whole thing is still about 2months? maybe longer before its driving again. Like a 10 week wait on the exhaust manifold. Still a big list of stuff to get like bigger sump, balancer, fuel rail, injectors and fuel reg. I've decided on it all, just buying it and waiting for arrival. Turbo is the BW I got for a case of beer, that wont end up on the car because of going a GTX35R of EFR turbo that I'll end up with instead. P.S thats not me holding the turbo lol.
-
Rolls - Atleast your living up to your signature. Show me a Rb25det making 450+rwkw with a low mount? The reason im going high mount as it gives me space and plenty more turbo options while looking good (I like the look of a high mount big single).. Im also going plazmaman plenum because I dont like the stock cross over pipe, they work well and also look good. Dajae - I respect what your saying and getting at, but the 'rest of us' is just a wrong statement. Reguardless of what I do its just truth of how things happen these days, you may not do it, but I'll bet my dodgy blueslip on it there are 100s if not 1000s on here that do. I'd rather the car to be modded and appeal to the car scene than to be/look stock to appeal to the police. In the last 12 years of owning/building modified cars, more modified/blingy than the one im building i've only be defected twice. I keep my cars up to scratch to 'try' and not get done, but I dont fly under the radar to avoid it either. I've been using the same mechanic mate for the same period of time, he knows my cars, he knows what im like with them, hes the one who said theres no point bringing it to him cause he knows the condition of them, so I now I just call him and does the rest, while also sorting out a few others on the side. Makes life easy. Kind of look I want.. --> http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=motive+dvd+engine+bay&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=578&tbm=isch&tbnid=fkynQAphvhVseM:&imgrefurl=http://motivedvd.com/motive/2011/08/17/in-the-build-jem-moes-nissan-r32-gt-r-skyline/&docid=EyoyY5-yuwQE_M&imgurl=http://motivedvd.com/motive/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Motive_0013.jpg&w=1500&h=1000&ei=cmkzT7KeC-7QmAWM3_3zAQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=109&sig=110444413959318780956&page=1&tbnh=112&tbnw=158&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=67&ty=71 Now a serious question. Whats a good brake upgrade for the 33's? Am leaning towards D2s. Ksport dont appeal to me. maybe too blingy vs performance lol.
-
Yeah im a bad person blah blah blah. Im building a car that is going to go like a cut cat and look good doing it, bling, loud noises, whatever. Because you dont approve doesnt mean you need to give me shit. I dont troll your threads and pick on your attempt at building a car, say your doing it wrong, its shit you'll get defected and whatever else. A cop, being a prick could defect almost every car on this forum if he wanted to even a stock one. (Yes, also having police friends that have told me this and do, do this). Let the defects come and watch them go. You think im the only one on here that makes a call to get rid of them? People wish they could make a call for shit like that. Rather than changing things, get the car passed then changing things back.. Save the time and hassel and find a dodgy bloke. Note. Funny story - Said policeman friend called me asking if I can get his 200sx a dodgy blue for rego. Says alot doesnt it. Yes you could argue, do it right the first time, make it all perfectly legal and passable and don't get defected to begin with, but we aren't in a perfect world, ANY modification is a defect. So its almost impossible. Then argue about engineers cert and stuff, they are easy to get done aswell. All comes down to making that phone call, they just cost more lol. No one has to agree with you or do it your way OR the 'right' way. So stop getting your panties in a knot and pull ya head in. Now i'll sit back and watch the PM's come in from the unfortunate people like yourself that don't have these people to call asking if I can put them onto someone that will engineer their car or clear a defect Thanks again for the kind words. Think to, if I was worried about getting busted, would I be posting on a public forum? hmm.. Maybe later this arvo i'll put up some pics of the car

Eatme - Before doing any research and speaking to any tuners I thought T04z.. I stepped it down and snapped up a BW airwerks turbo for a case of beer off a friend. But after speaking to 4-5 tuners now, they all are telling me the GTX35R twin scroll is the best turbo to use.. 1 tuner is pushing strongly for me to put a EFR on it. All tuners say minimal lag and stupid mid range with strong top end. Rolls - 1.7bar is just a number, more fuel and boost will be screwed into it til it says enough and just see what we come up with. Baring in mind its not a daily driver, its a car that will come out of the garage for cruises, track days, wsid, and whatever else. Like once a week, if that! Will it get defected.. yeah, probably will lol. As if people from the modified car scene are worried about defects these days? fark, its 2012 now, you still take your car for pinks and blues? geez. Phone call and it all goes away. The car itself stands out like dogsnuts anyway. Its a silver Tommy Kaira with the genuine kit so the massive rear spoiler and low front bar. thats been lowered on hks coil overs to 80mm off the deck, the big tommy kaira sticker up both sides and its got chrome 18in workmeisters with chucky semi slicks on it. Its bound to attract plenty of attention, good and bad. Plus im not the guy thats going to be cracking gate, throwing flames and painting lines off every set of lights, I leave that stuff to the track. Funnily enough ive only ever been defected by the dogs in blue waiting outside wsid picking people up leaving a legal event that they are pushing for us to do. Anyway thanks for the kind words of encouragment guys
-
Umm.. yeah because bling parts on a built engine, GTX35r (or EFR equivalent) and E85 will be laggy.
-
Another update, pics soon. The engine has come out after it emptying the sump out of the catch can after 2 full boost pulls.. then finding compression to be 60psi on cylinder 1. lol. ops.. 1.7 bar at 9000rpm? maybe the reason why. The turbo thats on there, im not sure. Its still a low mount but its big. its got a spacer which keeps the front housing about 5mm off the engine, but its almost touching the strut tower, well I think the actuator does. It is a Garrett and it will be for sale shortly with the manifold, dump, intake pipe, oil feed and drains etc etc.. its MUCH bigger than stock and wasn't laggy . I remember showing a mate that it was getting 1.7bar at 3600-3800rpm. Boost 1st 2nd and 3rd smoked the 255 circuit tyres. So far no one knows what it is, i'll get it off and go to GCG and see if they can tell me lol. Anyhow. The engine is out, and was sent off to get machined, honed, bored, decked, grouted and whatever else they do to it. After recieving it, have filled it with oversize CP pistons, Manley rods, arp bolts, nitto oil pump, acl 'black' series barings and blah. The head sent to lewis race engines for his 'race' port job, 1mm overisze valves, springs and to be bolted to the block with a tomeii head gasket and arp bolts again. Still undecided with cams so the tomei poncams stay until a decision is made, ie solid lifter conversion and bigger procams/cam gears and loose the vct. Plazmaman plenum and t/b to be used with a trust intercooler. Fuel system is getting overhauled. keep the nismo to feed a surge, aeromotive 1500hp pump from surge, big rail and 1200cc injectors for now. Turbo is a Borgwarner 366.., but that could change, the new EFR 83/74 look great, but so do the GTX35/82R.. Already have a turbosmart 50mm gate, and still waiting on my 6boost manifold. the HKS exhaust will be pulled off and sold, replaced with a Apexi N1 pro system or 3.5inch Xforce. Haltech platinum pro is taking care of the tuning side. Havent got a tuner yet lol. Probably Payden. So as you can see the 400rwhp goal is out the window, will fill up on E85, run 30psi and see what she makes, heres hoping we see 500rwkw.. My comments about parts being cheap, I still kinda agree with that, but lots of cheap parts eventually adds up to 1 expensive bill lol. parts alone so far am over 13k not inc labour because I do the work myself. But its easily a 20k build for someone planing to do similar. Will still little odds and end that ive no doubt forgot about. IE new radiator, thermos, battery, probably clutch. etc etc.. Cheers, Matt

Sweet, thanks for the info mate. Might have to whack the car on a trailer and bring it up for a visit lol. I was looking at Lewis Race engines, at his RB heads.. http://www.lewisengines.com.au/category25_1.htm Seems like a fairly good base to start with. Am also looking at oversize valves. I just want the head done once and done right. I've got the Tomei B type springs. not sure on lb specs off the top of my head. Does cam selection change with neo heads? I want big cams, as i said in previous posts atleast 270s if not maybe the 290s from my mate. (hes not using them) Why would the neo head have any affect on the bottom end? they are a generic RB 86.5mm CP piston.
-
Yeah I figured the BW 63mm will be too small, ive started looking at the EFR 91-80 after talking with a mate. The trust cooler is 100mm thick. Im leaning toward staying with the stock RB25 head because ive already got the exhaust manifold and things for it. Unless the exhaust manifold is interchangeble with the neo? the plazmaman plenum bolts onto the lower half of the stock inlet manifold so if that bolts onto the neo thats half the battle won. As for springs am looking at a set of tomei spings. Another mate also has a set of race springs and 290* camshafts that could be interesting, but i'd be interested to hear on your VCT set up?? Yeah its a billet mains cap girdle. I only got it figuring it will help with keeping the thing together, first time (well now 2nd) ive built a jap motor. Its still in its wrapper and might stay there lol. Was a peice of mind type thing. Id rather a highly strung RB25 instead of a RB25/26/30 conversion or stroker. standard stroke/displacement carrying 30psi and big revs is just the way to go. Thanks for ya help Elite.

hey all, Building an RB25. Build is in the process, bottom end is done, time for the head. (stock with tomei poncams and cam gears) Now talking about the head. What would be the better option and why? What should I be weary of? suggestions? 1. RB25 head, ported and polished with a solid lifter conversion. Decent cams. 2. RB25 neo head, ported and polished. Decent cams. (have been told by several people that these are the best heads of the 3) 3. RB26 head, ported and polished, again decent cams. by saying decent cams, im undecided on what I want at the moment, but am after that nice big angry lumpy idle) Procams 270s or so. After the new head is done am planning to spin to 9000rpm. About the car. CP forged 20thou over pistons, manley forged rods, machined balanced etc etc few other odds and ends such as mains girdle, jun oil pump, lewis sump, ross balancer etc etc... Custom exhaust manifold, BW 63mm turbo(am going bigger turbo if need be), plazmaman plenum and t/b. Trust cooler, 3.5in exhaust. Haltec platinum pro ecu, supporting fuel system, running E85. Power, maybe asking alot BUT I want 650/700rwhp. originally made 510rwhp at 1.7bar. Love to see 2bar and 700hp. Its all still a work in progress. Help and suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Matt

hey mate, i'll break it down and try make as much sence as I can for you. for 2k to *start* with. (what im doing) Oversize (.020) Forged CP Pistons 8.5 compression. Forged Manley H-beam rods ACL race Main/Rod barings Tomei headgasket + cometic engine gasket set. = $2055US inc freight. = $1974.80 Aussie bucks. All machine work/preping of the block = $1200 Complete head service ex parts(if needed) = $850 My bill is about $4k But im chasing better deals or might grab a http://www.lewisengi...m.au/prod30.htm But im ripping the engine out, striping it down and re-assembly myself. The pistons I have ordered are not a direct replacement. Standard pistons are 86mm. The CPs I ordered are 86.5mm so .5 bigger or .020thou over. Reason for this is to get the block machined to effectively start with a fresh bore so the new rings have 'new' metal to bed into rather than trying to bed in on an already scored bore. Ive been quoted $1200 for the block to be fully machined/bored/honed/decked and preped. I personally think this is a little steep so im currently ringing around. You could order a new set of standard size pistons/rings and throw them into your standard block and run it. Hope for the best they seal and be done. Its risky but it could and has worked. I however dont recommend this. Just buy a honer attachment for your drill and hone the block yourself before doing so. and atleast get the head milled to get rid of any soft metal and get a true surface for the head and head gasket to seal properly. I also recommend that the head be serviced while its off ive been quoted another $850 which I also think is pricey. If you paying $850 for that to be done, may aswell add another $400-500 and get a fully ported and polished head from Lewis race engines. Im in the process of getting prices to get the block sorted and get the head serviced. Will let you know how I go. Can you build one of these motors with forged rods/pistons for under 5k?? Absolutely. Im doing that now. Thats is only forged short block/stock but serviced head. (mine already has all Tomei gear through the head). Its cheap. Sky is the limit for how much you want to spend/parts etc etc. Im not aiming for 1000hp, im more than happy at over 500rwhp. Hell my 1800kg BA XR8 makes 408rwhp 650nm, its slow lol (12.54@115.65mph) but im happy with that. I know of 2 work shops that you can take your car to, drop it off, have forged Arias pistons put in.. all the machine work done, head serviced, all new gaskets.. have it run in for you Drive in Drive out deal for $4500. Can save yourself $800-1000 if you take the motor out/put it back in. The mechanic also drives/races an R33 so im inclined to trust him. If anyone knows any decent machine shops/ head servicing places at reasonable pricing please let me know? Thanks, Matt
-
Yup figured that. Tomei headgasket and ACL rod/main barings have also now been ordered. Why ATI over Ross? Want to keep all accesories and stuff.
-
Thanks everyone for your input.. its been helpful Ive ordered a set of Manley H-beam rods with ARP2000 rod bolts, .020 over CP pistons (almost got Weisco pistons but figured CP would be the way to go after more reseaching). Also ordered ARP headstuds. Now looking into barings. Probably use ACL Race series or maybe Tomei.. havent really decided yet As for the headgasket im looking at either a Tomei or a Cometic. Anymore opinions on barings and gaskets?? Will rip the motor out and start stripping it down this weekend, will send the block off to be acid dipped, bored, honed and get all the machine work done. Hopefully get it back next weekend and start bolting it all back together. Heres hoping the crank is ok, or i'll get a new crank rather than have it machined and fit oversized barings, i dont like that idea. Figure while its out i'll fit a Ross Harmonic metal jacket balancer. Thats about all I can think of for now.. Cheers, Matt
-
Yep, understand this. Perfectly. But, it needs to be fixed. Thought about going a 2.8 stroker... but for now just want to get new rods and pistons in the thing, get it running and keep the mrs happy lol. Can you recommend any parts? people in the states? links maybe? Because of so many different choices its made it harder to choose.. if that makes sence? is anything brand/part better than the other? Car did make 510rwhp. before deciding to empty the sump though the catch can breather and blow smoke like ive never seen lol. Thanks for the quick reply. Matt
-
Hey all, RB25DET motor... If you had $2000-$2500 to spend on Pistons and Rods.. What would you get? Ive had a look around and asked alot of performance shops.. Ive got an idea of what I want. Ive heard everything from CP, Spool, JE/Nitto, Eagle, Manley, Mahle to ACL.. In your opinion what would be the best combo for the money. Set up I currently have, is tomei forged rods/pistons, tomei cams/cam gears.. and i've melted/cracked a piston on 1.7bar at 8200rpm. Want to buy rods and pistons. Thanks, Matt
-
I was looking on ebay, type in trust cooler, and it comes up with a blitz one, type in blitz and it comes up with a 'blitz/trust' intercooler.. I dont know if they are different or one and the same. but aslong as it works i dont care. and im not spending a couple of grand on a nismo one. As for the trust turbo kit you've mentioned I had a look at them, they look ok. But i'll stick with the high mount manifold and GT3582, .84 rear that im looking at for now. I want more than 300rwkw now knowing its got forged internals and what not. Just keep pushing it until we find its happy limit. I can see me blowing it up and starting over lol. Cant do a hell of alot to it at the moment as im driving it daily while the XR8 is off the road gettin some mods done to it, its not what I planned, I only wanted the skyline to come out weekends and trackdays. but hopefully the xr8 will be back on the road soon and the skyline back in the garage to finally get my hands dirty on it.
-
long time no post. Ok, so the cars got more than I originally thought. Forged rods and pistons, tomei cams and cam gears, high flowed turbo with bigger compressor housing and stainless steel shaft/wheels, high flow fuel pump and 480cc injectors. twin plate clutch, 1.5way lsd.. screamer pipe and a few other odds and ends.. Ive ordred a blitz/trust intercooler, purely for better flow over the shitty hybrid one on there. forward facing plenum, 90mm t/b.. hks fuel rail and 740cc injectors, sard fuel pressure reg, surge tank and bosch 044 ext pump. Going to CRD for a aftermarket ECU and custom tune, Hopefully get something decent out of it. keep you guys updated..
-
Thats the idea, but I want decent parts not chinese crap. Which is why I was asking whats the better manifold, the better intercooler etc etc.. like theres 1000 different decent brand name manifolds. Which one to go for? 6boost, snort, xforce, hks, etc.. exhausts hks, apexi, kakimoto and stuff.. cooler - greddy, arc, coolpro etc etc.. thats the info im looking for. thats what im trying to get at. I just want to know what parts will be best suited to what I want. I have an idea of what I want. But there may be something better for similiar money? Sure I can do what we did to the VL, but it will eventually lunch the cheap chinese turbo, burn a hole in the manifold and hybrid is just crap. So do that same build but with decent parts yes? The only thing I wont do on this car is the tune. the rest I will just be buying and doing in the garage. My XR8 has 400rwhp 660nm but weighs 1800+kg and it gets up and goes its great fun. Has run into the 12s on street tyres at 108mph. So I figure, skyline, few hundred kgs lighter, same power will be even more fun for cheap and has alot of potential. My only option now with the xr8 is forced induction. 10-15k depending on route i go. 10-15k spent on a R33 skyline will be an absolute animal and stupid amounts of fun.

Hes telling me what I want to hear because hes actually saying 450hp can be done and telling me parts to do it with. I've looked at most of that RB25 build thread and its given me alot of options which is where I took most of my ideal parts from. Not really fussed on the overall price, parts are cheap! I really cant get over how cheap aftermarket parts are for these things. The 3076 just seems a little small to me. which is why im opting for the 3582 or 3540. sriver killer, dont be so bloody stupid. Im a revhead, obviously, all i want is a high mount turbo, screamer, big top end rush, big frount mount and over 400rwhp. (AS A STARTING POINT) The cars can be had for cheap and modified for cheap. Thats why im here. I dont care if its got lag til 4000rpm. I dont care if its obnoxiously loud. I know what I want, im asking for advice to get what I want, it may not be the ideal setup or as fast as some other set upts or as cheap, but its what I want!! not be told its going to be shit, laggy, etc etc. And having worked on a mates VL turbo with a stock internal RB25 in it, chinese manifold, monsta brand super T70, chinese inlet manifold, hybrid cooler, 300 dollar home made exhaust, cheap ebay fuel system. it made 300rwkw and ran 12.8@116mph with a gay launch. 2.3 60ft. the only decent thing in that car was the tune by incar at wetherilpark. Thats what makes me want the stuff I want!!

Finally, getting the info I want to hear! Thanks Scoot. What i've decided on at the moment. Snort Performance high mount SS manifold. GT35/40 turbo. Sceamer. 46mm wastegate(hks or turbosmart). 4in intake pipe and pod. 3inch dump, Apexi N1 pro or Kakimoto exhaust with NO cat... Trust intercooler, custom pipe work. Surge tank and bosch 044 fuel pump, sard injectors, sard fuel pressure reg, aftermarket fuel rail. Aftermarket inlet plenum, 90mm throttle body. Tommei cams and cam gears. with recommended valve springs. I havent decided on what engine management to run yet, depends on tuner I go with. More than likely J.E.M. or possibly you?? Figure i'll run 18-20psi until the engine goes and go from there.. Getting more and more excited about cracking gate and turning tyres to smoke while having my body pinned! <--- something like that would be a nice start!! love it!
