I dont know why they would say it would be fine to run low boost if it would damage something, although i am a bit scared to do it and it all end in tears.....
Hey guys, im going to turbo my na RB25/30 DE, im only going stock stuff for the moment. so std rb25 manifold turbo etc... ill get custom downpipe made because im sure it wouldnt fit. only thing im confused about is the turbo and water lines on the rb30. does anyone have pictures on where they go or any advice on where they go on the turbo? ive never done it before and id like to know before i start exactly where everything goes ! cheers guys
My mate had his SV6 dynoed at the same place, he has a exhaust and CAI - and just over 30% loss was calculated. and im pretty sure i remember them saying is a 30% loss roughly depending on car. its a HUB dyno. I was hoping it would be a good allrounder on the track but you really need to rev its tits off to get it to go.... in a street car it would be mad fun, take it to the drags it pulls 14 seconds flat. i havent done better....just not trackable how it is. if it doesnt sell soon ill probably turbo it. ill see what happens first
Yeah ive got one guy interested in the motor, if that falls through ill probably run a cheap turbo setup DIY but get a tune lower rev limit. its built to rev to 7500 easily but power drops off at 6600 so with a turbo wouldnt need it to go that far anyway.
running rb25de pistons, thats whats holding it back, i plan to only run around 6psi at this stage to give it more torque, im happy with power just after more torque...its what happens after driving an F6 as a daily
Also should add ive found a turbo and mani for $350 which i will probably get, along with the dump while im there and im thinking of using a FG intercooler as it comes with all piping and extras i could probably use.
hey guys, im at the stage where i want to turn my N/A 30de to turbo. because of the high comp. im guessing 11:1 im thinking of running standard RB25 turbo on around 6-7 psi, at the moment im making 155rwkw and 250nm so im wondering if anyone has done something similar and what power they got. it will also be custom tuned but exhaust mani will be std turbo std and dump std with a straight through exhaust.
