  1. hey guys, finally finishing off this build today, and halfway through tuning the oil pump completley lost pressure..... they said on cold start theres a little bit then when warm it ticks loudly and has none. they took the plug off the sump and ran the motor and no oil was pumping out.....so they concluded the pump has failed. its done around 1000 kms......i dont know why or how its failed all of a sudden.

  3. i have a twin throttle body intake ill be selling soon, the whole plenum incl intake EVERYTHING as im going itb on my 25/30.... if interested pm me ill let you know when im ready to sell it, have a quick look i think theres pics on here or the engine used to be skit_r31's so have a look there. cheers

Im probably at 10k and im hoping to make over 160kw atw...wouldnt know yet till its tuned, alot of time and money is spent to do this sort of project. but back on topic...i dont understand what your trying to ask? you want help with putting an rb30 head on an rb25 block....if no one has done it (which no one commented has) then how do you sugest we can "help"..... if hasnt been done there probably is a reason...but by all means do it so when your budget built is better than the 10K plus wasted you can laugh in my face

  6. So your saying (160 rwkw) "ONLY" which equates to 208kw at the engine, which is what everyone uses...car dealerships etc... a brand new showroom falcon xr6 has what 210kw???? except its 2013 technologoy, not half 86 half 96.....over 20 year old parts..... "ONLY"

  8. Just to save time the motor was skitr31 off here, bought about a year back completley rebuilt ! the itb conversion isnt cheap !!! The intake complete $300-adapter $400-Getting ram tubes made up and bracket relocation - $500 now i need to get them fit and tuned, but look for atleast $1500 for something half decent.
  9. hey guys, im currently on the last step of finishing off my rb26 itb conversion and on the last step (hopefully) where i have a 25s1 head and want to keep the VCT, is it as simple as removing the corner off the 26 plenum, part where radiator hose goes in and weld on one off the rb25? is it as simple as that? im pretty sure i read it somewhere but i cant find it again. help appreciated !

  11. hey im also interested in something like this for my 25/30.... best option seems to be buying an adapter plate (rips quoted me $500) and using the rb26 bits.... i need a tune anyway so this seems like the best option... if anyone has a setup or something give me the ballpark figure in what im expected to spend ! haha
  12. mods wise only engine high flow car, extractors are standard 30 with 25 flange, will get custom once engines tuned etc... exhaust 2.5" no clue what brand? plans next year to take it off the road and enter it in events, extractors and sidepipes ! should be mental.
  13. just the best bits of my trackday at wakefield, as you can see the video positioning ****ed up so i just edited it to all the best sounding bits, can hear it get sideways and on the limiter a coupple times.
  14. used to be skit's motor off here, since ive had it fully rebuilt and balanced, upgraded the oil pump fittet crank collar, tuning starts next week, running on standard 25det ecu at the moment.

  16. hey, i spoke to the guy which i purchased the motor off (this forum) it hasnt run the spring at all so over the weekend ill muck around with it a bit more as the acc cable is way too long, off an rb30 so i need to shorten it and also get a tighter spring whichthe accelerator cable goes off. then ill see how i go. hopefully all is well. fingers crossed.
  17. hey i have ALMOST finished my rb30de engine, im using the rb30 accelerator cable which ill need to modify, anyway the car doesnt seem to like running on the twin throttle body setup atm. i dont know what the problem is with it however as soon as you tap the accelerator it just revs untill i kill the power. seems like its sticking somewhere or theres too much air going in, the spring on the tb/s arent there or the pipe that goes from the plenum to AFM pipe. need a solution if anyone has an idea.

Ok the person that rebuilt the top end has marked it wrong and my local mechanic pretty much just swapped the rb30 with the 25/30... he put the markings back to how the engine builder had marked it which now i know is wrong, i did set it all back to factory, put the car in 4th and pushed it probably 3 or 4 full rotations, its still hitting, same as before except now when you try start it and you have your foot to the floor it backfires and you can hear the petrol igniting through the plenum. ive already organised a local skyline specialists to take a look at it and fix anything wrong with it, hopefully only a handfull of valves but will have to wait and see.
  19. ok so electrically everything is working, the cam timing was way off as ill show you in the picture, around 20 teeth too much. re-set it today and something still seems wrong, not only it wont start im thinking the cams may have been set wrong too because ive put everything back stuck it in 4th pushed it foreward and it doesnt run freeely, you can feel its grabbing hitting metal on metal on one or two cylinders, i plan on doing a compression test tomrorow to tripple check but i think the motors gone because of how far out it was, going to get it inspected this week hopefully...
  20. hey guys, recently bought a motor off here and just seeing if anyone has any input on this as its doing my head in ! pretty much just a standard motor rb25/30 wise with twin throttle bodies. it cranked over (when at mechanics) and he bled the coolant and let it run for 30 minutes id say, then now it wont start. it kicks over but the thing wont fire, he said he tested it and hes getting no injector pulse, now ive checked power from the green wire going to injector loom (power) checked to the coil pack loom (power) even under the glovebox that thick pink wire (power) so i have no clue what to do next, im willing to play around with it but in about 2 weeks ill have to get it to an auto elec but i want to save as much cash as i can if i can. cheers guys the link is here.
