#Um the boost controller you speak of im thinking its a boost/turbo timer. This allows boost to be adjusted and the car to idle after key is turned off. If its a greddy item (most common) Check the timer setting for the turbo timer. You can also select to turn the timer off completely and the car will shut down as normal. Set boost at 10psi as a standard. If you have aftermarket boost guage check what boost the car is making to be sure everything matches up. As for the car turning off when handbrake down this is a standard safety/anti theft system which is linked to the turbo timer so a theif cant steel your car while its running with no key (also can be linked to brake pedal switch or clutch. and another thing my turbo timer dosn't let me go above 5 PSI which is really quite annoying lol any ideas how to fix this ?

Hi all, i got my first skyline about a 2 months ago and have been enjoying the ride immensely, until i stupidly took it sideways around a corner ( accidentally, i was still getting used to having a power surge at 4500rpm). Luckily all that seems to be damaged is the passenger door and the front bar. anyways i have a few questions 1) when i started the car for the first time in about 3 weeks I noticed that there was a hell of a lot of grey smoke coming out of the exhaust ( it is extremely cold in the Blue Mountains ATM which may have accounted for some of the smoke, but it was def more than just steam) 2) there is a weird sound coming from what seems to be the turbo while the engine is cold - it sounds as if the fan is clipping something but as soon as the engine warms up it goes away ( this was happening before the crash) i'm not sure if this is meant to happen 3) i have a boost controller in the car and if this is not down at 1psi the engine will not turn off unless i put the handbrake down ( this was also happening before i crashed) is this bad ? apologies if these questions seem stupid or are covered in other topics but i am new to this and have no mechanical knowledge so the more information i can get the better. also if anyone has a spare R33 GTS-T Series II front bumper they are trying to sell or get rid of i'd be more than happy to take it off your hands thanks James
