Just lettin you all know i fitted my own "Sil8ty" modified inlet manifold (with T/Body at front) on the weekend with fmic.. And it works a treat.. Had been told by a lot of people that it wouldn't work.. But i actually fitted bungs in all inlet runners to measure boost difference from front to back, finding very little difference from front to back..... I aint to engineer, but i thought that i would share it all with you.. Will hopefully have some pics for you guys that want to have a look... :uh-huh:

rb25: good work.. Where did you get the heat shield from?? As i cant find any thing anywhere.. Must be looking in the wrong places??
-
XEQTOR; Let me know how you go, as i just finished doin my coola on the wkend, with the same prob.. Did a vacuum leak test, but no leaks... Sounds like it has a killa set of camshafts in it though ... Can notice a fair bit of difference even when it isn't running too smooth which is a good sign i guess..

RedlineGTR: yeah tried that, but it made no difference.. It stumbles a bit at idle.. Will fit the front gauze back in (before sensor) to try and make the air flow more uniform through the sensor.. Thanks any way.. GTST4G: Have PM'd you back.. Greatly appreciated..

Has any one, when removing the gauze section from their Air flow meter, still got it in good condition.. As i am having idle problems and i trashed mine getting them out.. let me know (PM) or email me Sil8tys email Will be greatly appreciated, do expect to pay for it or swap... PLEASE SOME ONE HELP......

What car is it for?? I would suggest calling them, as most of the common kits have been EPA tested... Also speak with Tonkin and associates in Adelaide.. They are consulting engineers that i think do the testing for CAPA.. All you need to do, it the emmssions has been done on the kit by CAPA is to pass a noise test.. Not much at all $$$$...

Got it apart it was only a broken selector fork.. Lucky.. It only costs about $90.oo but a 2 week wait.... Better than $1200 for a 2nd hand box i guess.. -

Any one here a Gearbox Specialist????
Sil8ty replied to Sil8ty's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah spoke to a dude i now today that specialises in gearboxes.. Unfortunatley i need to pull g/box out and pull apart, but it is (HOPEFULLY) a cheap fix, only got to realign the selector as it has come out of alignment.. Nothing too major.... (At least i can detail and clean engine bay.. Might as well take motor and all out..) Thanx to everyone that helped me out.. -

I thought about that, but the thing is, you can here it moving in the gearbox i think.. But i will start there and move forward if need be... Thanx 51jay :uh-huh: -
The reason i ask, is me and a mate were out in my g/f's GTi-R Pulsar tonight with the G-tech ... I think we may have destroyed a g/box.. Here is a re-enactment.. - Launch of at 4000-5000 rpm, pull 2nd gear :burnout: .... Go to third, hard to engage, try again, then it seems to go in... But here is where it gets weird.. Gear stick then can move around freely and is still in gear... Gets better, when stopped, still stuck in gear, you can get it to select (not engage), 1st, 2nd,3rd, cant get into 4th, but 5th & reverse you can.. Go to drive off it is still in, we think 4th gear.... I hope this is clear enough.. CAN SUM 1 HELP ME as i have lost my Skyline to the g/f until i fix GTi-R... (but she's payin for parts if needed ) Any advice would be great.. Will if worst case be pullin down the g/box over the weekend..

Anyone used Paxton Kamikaze fuel pump?
Sil8ty replied to Belly_up's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have seen the kamikaze used a fair bit, quite a reliable pump and flow easily upto 700+hp worth of fuel... A bit bigger than the 044 Bosch pump.. Apparently the new SX pump is alcohol compatible, and can flow upto 1000hp worth of fuel.. I think it is pretty good value at the $7**.oo what ever it is CAPA sell it for... It all comes down to right pump for the right application and budget put aside for the project i guess.. -

what do u polish stainless ic pipe with
Sil8ty replied to matt31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Get a buffing wheel happening on a drill or bench grinder.. This is how i did mine with Autosol, works a treat, then hand polish with cloth and auto sol.. Come up well.. The finish can also vary with the quality of the stainless used also.. -
how do u go against v8's on highways
Sil8ty replied to playa's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Had a rolling start from about 50km/h with a VU Manual ute.. Thought it may keep with me, i was mistaken, pulled a car length on him in a gear change, but getting to the 150-160km/h mark the V8 slowly comes back. Car mods: Cat back exhaust, pod filter, bit more boost V's Gen III Exhaust, Cold Air, MAF meter, blah blah..... Certainly changed his perspective of so called "Jap Cr*p"
