  1. Im sure you can get down to 1150kg You can run light weight panels all over the car If you get down to 1150 with the weight on the right places it will help.
  2. I havent read the reg's on 4wd in SS. Can you change the suspension geometry? Relocate the engine? What is the minimum weight? Can you widen the car 100mm as the the other car's do? Good luck in any case.
  3. Yes I agree with everything your have stated but STT/W300 is just another option for racing. I only mentioned it as its quite restrictive to run turbo's/4wd in IP or any form of racing for that matter and STT or the W300 is a simply another option. I have the same problem with the MR2 in Prod sports and will set it up for 3B due to the restrictions on turbo's in the showroom sportscar class. As long as your enjoying your time at the track, your winning. A mechanic wisely stated at the state round last week 'spend $6k on tuning your suspension and chassis before you spend any on the engine and you will be quicker for the same money spent, which I agree with.
  4. The fastest SS Ive seen at EC is the Audi of Daren Hossack. 6.0ltr chev, indy car rear end, spaceframe, F1 style suspension, etc. 1.28.6 http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....07/2008.ARDC.Q9 I wonder what GTR running gear in the chassis will do..
  5. The Nationals are incredibly expensive..any racing is to be honest. Well you can always run in the AASA events under Super TT. There are no restrictions. Also there is the Wakefield 300 in November with the classes are based on times as some 'bike series' seem to do and it work well for their series. So you nominate your time to establish your class, go out for practice and qualifying. After this you are re grouped if required to the relivent class and off you go. Go race for 300km !! This way you dont have to spend enormous amounts of cash to enjoy racing and be competitive. ITs also open to all tin top cars so its Porsche,Supercar,GTR,Salon cars, MR2, production cars, IP cars and more.
  6. The owner of Winton has picked up a R33 and may have it ready for the 300. The entry is $600 per team for the event. I have attatched the reg's and entry forms. Well I hope you have it sorted Duncan. Best of luck wakefield_300_entry_form_2.pdf wakefield_300_regulations.pdf
  7. The reg's and entry forms are now available on the Wakefield Park website. They were a long time coming but now available. It looks like a great weekend of racing coming up. Friday is also available for practice. I have sold my Celica 150hp St162(1.16.5/Wakefield Park)and MX5 and now race preping a MR2 Turbo (200rwkw) for the event. Should be able to keep you honest Duncan!! It will be Prod Sports logged but without the restrictors. Also running Semi's instead of slicks. There may be a R33 GTST racing in the W300 which is great news and few Improved Production guy's. Porsche teams are coming but the twin turbo Saker caught on fire and is back in the garage for more TLC. Ouch... Two EA Ford running. One turbo the other NA.
  8. The car will be at Wakefield Park on Wednesday 20th August for a run at a open track day. Anyone interested should come have a look

  10. AS long as its race ready and meets safty requirements you will be good to go. As far as entry levels go we are working on 30 which will make it a busy race. There will be various levels of drivers in the race which will make it interesting. There was not one incident in the race last year and wish for that to continue. It great practice for experienced teams and a excellent learning experience for up and coming teams and drivers. There may be a few prototypes running in the race. This isnt confirmed but is a possibility. The chassis is a Saker ( google it) fitted with a v6 twin turbo. Sick car.. Production car racers, combined touring, perhaps some super cars, 2 litre super tourers, 4wd turbos, S15.All sorts.
  11. Thats great to hear Duncan. You may want to book your accomodation at the Pelican sheep station. There is a house there that sleeps 8-10 people, clean, well kept and they have a bbq you can use. We stayed there in 2006. Its very handy. You can walk to the track, just watch out for the snakes! I will have more information soon Cheers Steve
  12. The 5 min stop is for anyone taking a stop for any reason. So everyone has to take at least one stop. Any CAMS or AASA logged car can enter. You will need your CAMS race license or your AASA National license. Im working with the owner of Wakefield in the organisation and promotion of the race. Im still waiting for Mathew to send through the information pack so I can get it out to competitors but fingers crossed it will be ready soon.
  13. No dry break required Duncan. All stops are 5 mins with refuelling permitted in park ferme with a fire marshal on hand. I guess it was the same for the 500. I ran in the event last year which was a great experience, so decided to help out this year in organising and running in the event. Im looking forward to it again this year.
