Unfortunatly the 962 wasnt there. There were plenty of old classics there to make up for the 962 even Brocks red 427 Monaro.The 2 Fred Gibson R31's were there battling with the Walkinshaw VL's which was pretty good, a $3mil 1937 Talbolt, 1960's McLarens,F5000's. I have 4 hrs of footage from all over the track due to media access so I will have something up in the near future. The 962 and many others will be at Phillip Island in March for the Classic Phillip Island tribute to Porsche. cheers

Firstly that joke of a Monaro ran a GT1 C5 corvette engine, double firewalls, altered suspension points, billet diff tubbed,and more.Anyone who was a threat in the Bathurst24hr couldnot enter or were restricted with no chance of winning, so the Euro teams took their bat and ball and went home.There was a lot of politic's leading into the next running of the event which finally saw an end to it,but it may be back in the not to distant future. Dont judge GT racing from the coverage you see on fox as it's useless.Our Ch10 need to go over and show em a thing or two on motorsport presentation. If its loud and fast it will be good. I will be there. I'm heading to Vic this weekend for the Sandon Historic's to see the Porsche 962 run and will be organising my accommodation for the GP. It will be on youtube next week.

Yes it's a direct swap into a GTST. Mechanical diffs are noisy at low speed turning but after that they are the only way to fly. It wasnt new but I didn't drift it,burn outs or drags. Just a few track days and some after hours spirited driving

If you are big on porsche,the 962 should be at sandown for the historic meet in two weeks. Im taking my girl on a road trip to the event so if you are around we may catch up. cheers

There is plenty of accommodation around. It's not a tiny little town in the outback. There are plenty of pubs in the area and smaller towns close by. Malsanne would be the place to stay as its at the end of malsanne straight, hence the name. There are a few tour operators who cater for this and many other events in EU. The spyder would be a sight but the new LMP's are unbelievable. If you like enduro racing I'm going to the Wakefield 500 with friends on saturday/sunday 25th November. If you want to hook up for a beer over some racing drop a line cheers

I went in 2004 and it is not expensive.I think it was Eur$110 for grandstand seating at the chichanne before the main straight. Accommodation can be the killer for the budget. I may be going myself next year if the budjet permits. It is worth going no doubt about it. I managed to get past security and made my way over to malsanne straight. Prototypes doing 360km/h at 8am is a great way to start the day! best of luck
