  1. Spotted white R34 GTR number plates "MADGTR" on windsor road this afternoon.
  2. Hi mate, Nice ute you have there. To give you a bearing on price and availability of the 34 GTR, the good examples do sell quickly and for a premium. Mine is bayside blue, vspec, 85k and stock. I've personally turned down 2 offers over the past few weeks of mid 50's and its not even on the market. Weirdly enough, I am also familiar with the current market of the FG XR6 ute as I have recently helped a mate of mine sell his. We found mid - high 20's is the going rate for a well presented low k 09 model. So if your after a 34 GTR there may be a bit of a $ gap here which will need to be filled. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/results.aspx?base=1216&keyword=fg%20xr6%20ute&eapi=2&find=xr6%7CCarAll&vlist=a&items=%5bMake%3aFORD%2cModel%3aFALCON%20UTE%2cSeries%3aFG%5d&Range=Price%3aMin%2cMax%7e0.5&sort=default&N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282&vertical=Car&silo=Stock Hope this helps, all the best with your search. Cheers.
  3. Thanks Daco, appreciate it. Congrats on your recent purchase, hopefully there are a few tips in here which will be handy when it comes to keeping her all clean and fancy. Cheers.
  4. Thanks mate. Just had her bonnet, front bumper and lip resprayed to remove the little stone chips - etc, so coming straight out of the panel shop, naturally there are a few swirls present at the moment. Have had a few messages from members and friends regarding the last post on swirls and prevention. With her fresh paint in its current state, good opportunity for the next update to be a quick tutorial on standard swirl removal.
  5. Thanks mate, she never gets parked anywhere except my home / work garages. Thanks mate, appreciate the kind words.
  6. This is awful. Still confused how this particular dealer has managed to get away with this for so long? Maybe people like painted chassis rails and odo's which dont align with the wear and tear presented on the vehicle?
  7. Thanks mate, cant wait to see which clean example you end up purchasing.
  8. Hey mate, A few simple tips off the top of my head - - Use a microfibre wash pad (Such as the yellow meguiars one). - Use a microfibre chamois (Such as the yellow meguiars supreme shine one). - Use a gentle motion with the chamois, not much pressure is required and also just 'pat' it around the dryer areas - dont smear. - 2 bucket method of washing with PH neutral car wash (Provides good lube and wont strip your wax - etc). - Use a seperate sponge for the top areas of the car to the bottom of the car (Around wheel arches, side skirts - etc). Hope this helps.
  9. Thanks for the kind words guys. Marko, one day she'll be as clean as your facebook competition winning R32.
  10. ^ As above. Or if your lazy, I normally hold the sides of it, pinch the top and turn it with my fingers. Then pull straight up when you see the cap seperate from the base.
  11. Here you go mate, one box for either side of the boot. Plans were in place to coat them in a custom colour - but decided leave it up to the buyer whether they want to paint them, clear them or wrap them. Cheers.
  12. Part 9 - Headlight restoration. A frequent discussion point on the forum is 'headlight restoration' and the common yellowing which occurs with age / wear and tear. Having performed the restoration process a number of times now, I was comfortable giving it a go on the GTR and couldnt be happier with the results. Easier if you remove the lights from the car as you will then have a flat surface to work on - corner to corner. In short - 1) Wet sand with 2000 grit sand paper until you see the aged yellow dust turn to standard white dust 2) Compound with Meguiars Ultimate compound (DA or rotary polisher / lake country yellow cutting pad) 3) Polish with Meguiars Plastx (DA or rotary polisher / white lake country polishing pad) 4) Seal with Meguiars headlight protectant (DA or rotary polisher / black lake country finishing pad) If done correctly, as per the photos - you should end up with a 'like new' crystal clear finish with no sanding marks - etc. 3rd and 4th steps are essential to stop the yellow from reoccurring. Whenever I polish - I also run another protective layer of wax / protectant on the headlights as well.

  14. Wow. Some amazing shots in here, love your work as always guys. Heres a quick one from this afternoon. Mate of mine has TE37SL's on his 32 GTR. Thought I'd try take something artistic to focus especially on the sexy lip and curves. I absolutely love these rims.
  15. No fancy pics from me this time, but had to join in on the bayside blue goodness. Just got her back from getting her bonnet, bumper and lip repainted to remove all stone chips - etc and took a few happy snaps. Fitted replacement headlights today as well.
  16. Great example mate, love it.
  17. Very nice car Buildn, looks familiar. Same as below, perhaps in previous life?
  18. Thanks guys for such a quick response and your help. I took the car to Carbon Car Systems in blacktown this morning and you are right. Quick diagnosis confirmed that it was the turbo timer in the alarm which had been activated. (Which I did not even know the alarm had so was a welcome surprise). Painters must have accidently activated it with the remote when the car was in their posession and the feature is set to stay on until disabled with the remote. Cheers.
  19. Hi All, I just had some paint work done on my R34 GTR and since I picked it up, when I remove the key from the ignition, the car does not turn off and the engine keeps running. When I picked it up I noticed the engine bay was very wet, so when they hosed the engine bay not sure if they have caused a short or if this is irrelevant. To turn the car off, I have been putting it in to a stall, and when the key is removed the car stays in 'reds', lights on in the dash as if the key was half turned. And it eventually turns off after a few minutes. Confirmed with the shop that the battery has not gone flat, they have not had to jump start - etc. Would appreciate any direction as to what could be causing this. Cheers.
