On my Evo spoilers it was a really thick clear coat and it took ages to carefully wet sand through with fine grade sand paper. Issue with Mitsubishi is they used a crappy clear coat on the carbon which cant take the sun, hence the standard Evo VIII wing clear peel. I could only imagine Nissan using a thick coat of clear on this duct, not a plastic cover. However never tried a naca duct though so I cant be sure.

Help Fixing Air Con. Its Always Hot Air
iwanta34gtr replied to amnash's topic in General Maintenance
Great news. Codes are 26-pbr(air mix door/hot cold blending flap) and 27-refigant temp sensor(other evaporator temp sensor)# Have you already tried giving the actuator a push with your fingers, sometimes over time it gets dust - etc jammed in it. This is what I had to do with my old R34 mode door. Dont know how a 32 one looks, but the metal arm on mine had also come loose - hence why it was not moving. Does yours have one and if so, is it still attached? Worst comes to worst, may need to change the actuator if after push / lube no success? -
This may help - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/376895-getting-a-car-transported-from-perth-to-sydney/ Its from when I was looking at bringing one over from Perth. A few different companies listed in there. Trust me, you're $1700 container quote is a bargain compared to what I was quoted a few months ago (by the same company).

Oops. Good point GTSBoy. -
I love this shot. Really clear and crispy. White 34 GTR's are so pure and sexy. Looks like GTR-34U? I think?

Rpm Gauge Reading Needle Goes Crazy?

Could maybe sell the tacho component to the OP if required? -
Congrats on your purchase mate. From memory, based on the GTR ride height, pretty sure it will have to be CEVA race / prestige container with the hydrolics.

Rpm Gauge Reading Needle Goes Crazy?
iwanta34gtr replied to GirlTORQUE's topic in General Maintenance
This is a common fault and the fix instructions are available below. Might be worth a go before replacing the cluster. http://www.skylinesa...acho-r33-maybe/ Hope this helps. -
I have worked with carbon previously and restored the wing on both of my Evo VIII's. To remove the old clear, I had to carefully sand it down with fine grade paper until I saw the white dust turn to black dust (which means you have hit the carbon). Dont want to go too far or you will destroy the carbon pattern and blend the squares together. I then used heat proof 3M 650 degree clear to recoat and reseal.

Have you checked and cleaned your AFM? Simple things first and if this doesnt rectify your issue, see if theres anyone around your area that has a spare set of coils / lead you can borrow before purchasing. Note - you probably already know, but R33 S1 and S2 coils are different.

Dont worry mate, thats a fair comment and not disrespectful in any way. If it was easier to find a clean stock bayside Nur (and a tad more cost effective), then yes, I would have accepted the offer and taken that path. OP, Good luck with the search, look forward to seeing what you end up purchasing.

^ Ant knows the figure I declined a few weeks ago for my GTR. It was far post 50k and triggered me investigating the possibility of a bayside Nur. There are genuine buyers out there, willing to pay good money for clean examples. It goes to show as my car is not even on the market. Some of the examples which are at the cheaper end of the scale have been for sale for quite a while and may raise some educated eyebrows. When I started my search, I wanted either a vspec I or vspec II. Was not fussed which one as there are only a few small variations between these two particular models. I just wanted her to be clean, close to stock (In the hope that she has had an easier life) and bayside blue. I suggest to not focus too much on 'model', but more so on 'condition'. Anyway, interesting discussions. Would love to continue, perhaps in the 'skylines discussion' part of the forum though?

iwanta34gtr replied to JL's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks for the info Chef. -
Wrong thread sorry.

Even looking at the rear badge on the R34, its GTS-R, has that also had a conversion? If so, well done - pumped rear guards and all.
-
^ Thanks for the thread revival, had been a few days since the last pics. Yours were definately worth the wait, thanks for sharing. I may be wrong, but is that red skyline an R33 with a R34 front end? Just looking at the door lines and handle, looks like R33.
