  1. Must have just been bad luck mate. The R35 owners i've spoken to on this forum have been approachable and more than helpful.
  2. Yeah judging by the colour, it probably is that 3M tape actually, now you mention it. Thats the same tape I use when polishing. Very thin - wouldnt do sh*t for your bumpers!
  3. I wouldnt use standard sticky / duct / electrical tape, your right - that wouldnt do anything. However in the picture I found on google, that looks like cloth tape to me.
  4. I've been searching for an R34 GTR. Although I love the R34, I am starting to think that value for money, and what your getting (wear and tear wise) for the price you pay - the R35 may be the better option.
  5. Sorry for the triple post - just did a quick search and found this, thought it may be of itnerest. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/274198-gt-r-leather-quality/
  6. Good point, in most cases - you get what you pay for. However from what ive seen so far, it appears far easier to find a clean R35 GTR than an R34 GTR. (For obvious reasons)
  7. I remember seeing that one, from memory he did say he would sell it for the best offer over $100k - must have been a bidding war? Im also curious.
  8. Just thinking - Also need to make sure your belt isnt damaging the leather. I had a mate which had sharp design pieces on his belt and he scratched the f*ck out of the back seat in my W211 E320 (which obviously is meant to be high quality leather too..) So, so angry.
  9. I saw another thread which was stating that sets were approx $3500 (cheapest). Glad to see above that there are cheaper options out there.
  10. I remember the leather interior in both of my 350z's was terrible. I had the orange in both of them though, so it showed everything. Similar wear and tear to the picture you have attached. The fix some how reminds me of the roof in the 350z convertible - tears around the wear window due to the electrical cables around it - obvious DESIGN FLAW. Instead of fixing the root cause of the problem (either wrapping or moving the cable so it didnt rub against the roof), Nissan just put a brand new replacement roof on it under warranty but shortly after - the roof just rips again because the cause is not fixed. Im under the impression the seat issue is either poor quality leather, or poor stitching (if it starts to tear). Unfortunately im assuming the replacement will be exactly the same quality as the first one. So how do we prevent the wear and tear from happening again? Seat covers? Getting in and out of the seat differently (not putting any weight in that area (inconvenience..)
  11. To save some of the wear and tear -
  12. For future reference, went to bunnings today and bought some weatherproof double sided tape (which just happened to be made out of foam). Wrapped the cables completely with the tape and then rethreadded them through the boot lid - worked fantastic. It stopped the wire on metal rattles and also held them down nice and tight. Cheers.
  13. Congrats on your purchase. CEVA logistics would be an option if you wanted to get it sent over on the back of a truck. They can get it on with hydrolics and its in an enclosed box the whole way. Save the wear and tear, stone chips, added KM - etc.
  14. That looks so angry. Love it
  15. Yeah i researched that, it doesnt look to be what im after. Its like a spray foam. Im going to check out the post office / bunnings / clark rubber tomorrow. Cheers all.
  16. Thanks for the direction MBS206 - i'll check it out. Cheers.
  17. Thanks guys, this is for my S15 - its had the GT wing added, and the cabling has been threaded through the actual holes in the boot lid itself. Will try out clark rubber / bunnings / post office over the next few days for some type of thin foam insulation or padding. Can then just wrap it myself. Cheers.
  18. ^ True - great point, didnt think about that.
  19. Reminds me of my old V35. I remember japanese messages used to pop up on the display and i'd have to stumble through all the buttons trying to clear them.
  20. What is the correct process for a potential buyer to get his / her hands on this information? Cheers.
  21. Nice car mate. Domo kicks ass. Nomnomnomnmonomnomonomnom
  22. Thanks so much for the extra photos. Please post more if you have them. That black one with the TE37's looks fantastic. Love it.
  23. From memory, ADM R35 was released around April 2009. So im curious to see if a swarm of them enter the market around April this year when the 3 year leases end. Obviously this would mean more to choose from and in turn - even more competitive / lower prices.
  24. Hi Every1, I have some rattling cables in the boot of one of my cars. It is because of the way they are thread up through the boot lid to an aftermarket boot brake light in the spoiler. Ive secured them as best I can, but they still rattle at present. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is some type of foam insulation available that i can thread the cables through, or where i can buy some very thin foam or soft material to wrap them myself. Aim of this is to obviously stop the cables from rattling against the metal. Any advice or ideas are appreciated. Cheers.
