A few cars in SA have caught my eye, wanted to know if anyone could recommend any good detailers which would be able to check out the paint work for me (for a fee of course) with a paint thickness gauge, and also check for imperfections (such as water etching marks in the paint, oversprays on the rubbers - etc). Any advice is appreciated. Cheers.

As all have said, Personally, i'd do this - 1) Go to super cheap auto and purchase - - Meguiars quick clay bar kit - Meguiars ultimate compound - Meguiars ultimate polish - Meguiars ultimate wax 2) apply in that sequence with either a DA polisher or by hand. 3) Send your neighbour the bill. If your scratching the paint with the clay, chances are theres not enough lubrication - so use the quick detailer which comes in the kit regularly. Wash the car first and always knead the clay so your working with a clean side and if you drop it - throw it out and dont reuse. I always set up a blanket / mat on the area that im working with so if i drop the clay - it doesnt go to waste. Thats the only reasons i could think why the paint would be getting scratched. Hope it helps.

Im shopping for a new car at present, have been searching for a clean gayside blue R34 GTR for quite a while with no luck. That depreciation is accurate and fantastic (for buyers). To me - it makes the R35 even more appealing.
