  1. Update for anyone that is interested for future reference. Spoke with a company today that polishes glass, they advised that it would be better to replace the windshield because of the position of the scratch - and it is in direct line of sight. If it was further polished, the scratch would come out but the area would become distorted. So today, got a replacement windscreen installed, and the original seal was able to be reused. The guy was very careful removing it, so it did not split or tear. Very happy.
  2. Try this guy - 0410 069 096. I've bought a few things from him previously. He is at Wetherill Park, can be good for some stuff.
  3. Thanks Eugene, appreciate the advice. Getting some quotes for a replacement windshield. They vary though - Obrien is $860, and Novus Auto Glass (who have done work for me before) have quoted $320. Only thing im thinking now is, will they be able to reuse the factory rubbers / seals? If it makes sense, on the sides down the bottom of the windscreen they raise up a bit - i noticed on my mates R33 when they repalced his windscreen they replaced the seals and they are a bit different / flat. Will have to do more research.
  4. As said above, If you remove the splash guard you will be able to see the hole, clip and screw which holds the bumper. The plastic clip which sits in the hole in the fenders may have just come out a bit and has not been put back in correctly - needs to go in a certain angle. From memory, the hole looks a bit like a '0'. so if attempted to put in sideways, will obviously not fit in. If the clip is actually broken and is not holding in the hole correctly because its squashed or damaged, (which is what happened to my old R34 track car from taking the bumper on and off so much) to fix this previously, I just used some thick cloth tape, wrapped around the clip with it and then used a rubber mallett to smash it back in to the hole so it was nice and tight. Bit dodgey, but after this the bumper sit flush and it stayed that way for as long as I had the car. If you want to replace the clips, go to a wrecker or put up a WTB post on the forums. Or if you want to get potentially bent over - call Nissan spare parts for a quote. Hope this helps, good luck with it.
  5. Also important to note that the series 1 and series 2 R34 chrome letters are different. Series 2 letters are smaller and closer together, so bare this in mind while searching. Hope this helps, good luck with the search.
  6. They are on the rear bumper for an R34. If you put a post up in the WTB section, maybe someone on the forums can help you out. Or try a few more local wreckers. Where are you located, I know of a few spare parts places in Sydney that may be able to help you. As Steven said above, if worst comes to worst, you should be able to order them new from Nissan. (But as with anything direct, get ready to bend over when you see the price) I actually have the S and Y and the E kicking around somewhere, but they wouldnt be much use to you as they obviously arent the full set. I found them in the boot of one of my GTT's while cleaning - the previous owner had removed them for the 'clean' look.
  7. Same process applies for the GTT.
  8. Just called Obrien out of curiosity, they have a 24/7 line. They advise that they dont do windscreen scratch repair. Is this the norm? If there is a scratch, the windscreen has to be replaced?
  9. Thanks mate. I just gave it a try with 2000 grit wet and dry, then hit it with ultimate compound and a buffer as a 'lets hope' - but it didnt make too much of a difference unfortunately. Brought it out a bit better but taking a look - its pretty deep, will organise to have a pro window guy come and take a look at it tomorrow.
  10. Hi All, I was detailing my girlfriends car today and noticed that there is a scratch (around 10 cm long) in her glass. Wondering how to remove scratches from glass? It is not very deep, but is a noticable scratch. It is not a crack. Fine grade wet and dry sandpaper? Cutting compound / buffer? Dont know if it matters, but the car is an S15 and its her front windscreen. If anyone knows, any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
  11. Fantastic to hear its sorted, great work mate.
  12. Cheers for the advice mate, I understand. Yes, I've raised my budget significantly since I started my search. Also decided that importing isnt really for me, I need to see the car in the flesh (and its imperfections) before I decide to move forward. Yes, im rediculously fussy. Pathetic - I agree..... but no rush, hopefully one will pop up eventually.
  13. Thanks for the kind words livicuru. Went and saw the one at top secret imports, not what I am searching for unfortunately. Cheers for the heads up anyway though mate I appreciate it.
  14. Hey mate, Cheers for the info, I actually have a Mothers buffer at the moment, i will be keeping it one as part of my kit (Your right, its not for paint correction, however I will still use it for final waxing - and to save whatever wear and tear I can on my good polisher, whether its a meguiars one or not.) I'm am still leaning towards biting the bullet, buying one online and getting it sent over.
  15. Hi mate, Thanks for the details. I would be pretty confident using it, just have not seen this model in the flesh yet (to check out the build quality - etc). Do you have one you will be using on the day? And do you sell them? Cheers.
  16. Great pictures, best of luck with the sale.
  17. Another routine bump.
  18. +1 for coil packs. Or if your dodgey - just take the engine light globe out from the back of your cluster - problem solved. (Just kidding.)
  19. Hi mate, this is a common issue. This should help - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/144131-how-to-fix-tacho-r33-maybe/
  20. Just had a PM from the actual owner of the car. Confirmed that the car is a vspec II with a Nur engine and alot of other upgrades too! And it is not on the market but may be shortly. (Sales man I was talking to today had it confused it with another car). All sorted and thanks again all for the clarification.
  21. Your a lucky man to have found a clean genuine one Matt, hope you plan to hold on to it.
  22. Thanks for the tips and confirmation guys. Im pretty sure this is the car - http://www.skylinesa...l-white-4-sale/ The original owner sold it to the dealer around 1 year ago. Car did look familiar, and I even did bring this exact car up today but the sales man said no - this particular one was bought from Melbourne approx 3 years ago. So from what he's said - Im probably wrong, but the car specs and mods are freakishly similar. Its amazing what you can find on the internet. Regardless whether this one is a Nur or not though - still very sexy and looked pretty clean too.
