  1. Hey Guys, Got a brand spankin new copy of Doom 3: Limited Edition for X-Box. Its not sealed of course since i've been playing it. But its only 2 weeks old, no scratches, manual and steel case in perfect nick. Yours for just $50. Sells for up to $95 in teh stores. Prefer someone in Perth who can pick it up. Send me an email if interested: [email protected] Remove "NOSPAM" from address Dont PM me. I dont check the forums enough to answer them. Ben aka Red17
  2. ric777, I agree with many of your points, and pretty much 95 percent of your posts. Nice to see someone writing well thought out posts on here (for a change). Anyway the points I would like to make are as follows: 1. The definition of the law which you state is fairly clear has ambiguous wording; "accelerating or braking and skidding wildly". By this definition a car isnt permitted to accelerate or brake. An open ended definition like this is bound to be interpreted by many traffic officers differently, and therefore applied in an incosistent manner. Having had contact on a WA motorcycle forum list in the past few days, the riders who are officers on there have stated they know very little about the law or how it is meant to be applied in many instances. So the government which has been letting driver training down for years is also letting police training down too? I think we just all have fears that this legislation will be applied in an inconsistent and unfair manner. 2. The Silvia driver who lost his car the other night was also done for drunk driving. If there is anyone on this forum who denies that this idiot deserved to lose his car, then please turn yourselves in to your local police station for a free bullet in the head. 3. From a personal perspective, I try my damndest not to speed probably 99 percent of my time on the road, resulting in me having no fines in nearly 3 years now (back to 12 points in November). However I tend to regularly gun it up to the speed limit down on ramps, occasionally from the lights etc. Things we ALL engage in, just to feel that rush of boost from time to time, most times without even losing traction in the slightest. I have grave fears that police targeting people "accelerating" now, not just "speeding" will result in people being labelled hoons without reason. How would you feel losing your car for 48 hours without breaking the speed limit? 4. I think we all need to give this law some time to see its effect. Ive no doubt it can be something truly positive for WA's roads if implemented and enforced with proper care. However we have all had an experience once or twice with a totally unreasonable traffic cop, which leads us to suggest, it wont be positive at all. 5. We've all lived with the threat of losing our licence for driving 45km/h+ over the speed limit before. Dont really know why people are making a big deal out of it now. Afterall what possible reason do you have for doing such a stupendous speed on the road? 6. Learn from mistakes people. Getting caught for doing 39km/h over the limit a month after an accident is just plain silly. Having had 2 accidents already (1 of which was my fault) ive learnt to treat every single driver on the road as a total idiot, capable of doing anything at anytime. 7. Get more involved in weekend motorsport. Easiest way to get a speed fix Red17
  3. Sounds like air flow meter to me.
  4. Book a day off! If it helps I could drop a rim off for you to test fit? Ive no doubt they'll fit if you were looking for stock skyline rims... these arent much bigger, if at all.
  5. If your looking for an inexpensive set of 18 inch deep dish wheels, check out the Manaray Sport Vertec VR5 Quest. http://www.marukanet.co.jp/wheel/vertec/vr5quest.html Ive got these on my 32 and they look awesome. 8.5 inch rims on the rear have 3.5 inches of dish! (Measuring it is simple, get a ruler out and place it on the dish section of the rim). My local wheel bloke quoted me $1550 for 4 rims without rubber. Relatively cheap compared to Volks You may also find the same rim rebadged as a DTM. Mine actually scrub when i go hard into some corners, which im going to fix when I can afford a new set of Teins. My current Apexi springs are way too low at the front in particular which is causing it. Im sure a reasonably lowered car could get away without tyre rubbing.
  6. They havent changed their policy on imports. What they said to me was very clear "We will not insure imports unless you have existing business with the company"
  7. I never asked about mods. Never had a problem with them paying out on my previous 2 accidents in my Pulsar SSS which had alot of mods. Not planning to do a whole lot to my R32 anyway apart from an intercooler and running an R33 turbo (which looks so similar to a stock one, i doubt an assesor would notice).
  8. Also its likley the R33 has been blacklisted like the S13 as a "problem car". Since people have a habit of sticking them into poles. My brothers 180SX insurance has gone up $400 in 2 years for no reason. When I asked QBE about my 2 litre Skyline the reply was "That car doesnt exist, you mean 2.5 litre" *sigh* idiots. So im guessing mine was the first on their books.
  9. Im with QBE for my R32 GTST, so dont tell me they dont do imports Just got my renewal this week, $700 for 12 months comp valued at 14k. Its dropped $680 in 2 years.... probably due to me getting older and my first accident going off my record (more than 5 years ago). Now to get rid of accident number 2 *waits* By the way, if you want to get your import insured with QBE, try getting your house and contents covered by them too. They will then do anything to keep the business and thus the imports policy goes out the window. Red17
  10. Matt, Ive sent you an email. Red17
  11. What ECU does it have now?
  12. Ok V8 soarers? V8 Cima's, Q45's? VH41DE, VH45DE, VK56DE... need i go on? Japs have built better V8's than yanks have for many a year.
  13. The 180SX enclosed nose doesnt help the heating issues either. Might pay to speak to someone else with an RB powered 180 to see what they are running in regards to cooling.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up
  15. Umm are these just standard 4 pot r32 calipers with a pair of slotted rotors? I paid $350 for a set like this (but with standard rotors in average condition) in Sydney about 18 months ago for a mate who wanted them for his Silvia. Oh and that was with a set of near new pagid race pads. Just thought id let you know for price comparison purposes. Red17
  16. Hehehe I saw that "X UAE X" guy the other night in perth. He has a sticker on the rear bumper saying "Caution: Overtaking will result in race".... so i thought id test him out by casually cruising past him at 63. Suffice to say he doesnt back it up. I even saw a Daewoo go past him and he still didnt race em. What a liar!
  17. Nissan Datascan is great, however dont rely on it as the only way to diagnose problems. It once told me my AFM readings were within spec when my car was running rough. After spending alot of money and time trying to fix it, i finally pulled the AFM out and cleaned it just on the off chance it might correct the problem. It did. Proof that technology is no replacement for good old fashioned mechanic'ing! Oh and to reply to the topic, it seems a heap of R32's have this problem (including my own), except mine doesnt backfire when cold, that seems a little strange. Mine does however lack power and surges up and down until the temp needle is nearly in the middle of the guage. I just drive like a grandma until it warms up... not a bad thing to do regardless! Red17
  18. I recently upgraded my 2.5" system which was starting to rattle and sound dodgy. Picked up a second hand 3" HKS Super Drager system which was in pretty decent nick (bar a few scratches and scrapes from speedbumps) for $350 and got it fitted. I mainly expected an improvement in sound, but the car feels so much nicer to drive now, with better midrange. I think it cost me about $450 all up after fitting. Bargain! Red17
  19. I think they should ban rappers too.
  20. I was with ya up until you slagged off the entire labor party.
  21. My brothers 180SX did something similar, turned out it was actually the differential itself.
  22. Not sure about it getting harder and more expensive. Insurance on my R32 dropped $550 for me last year alone going from 25 to 26 Im on a good deal with Western QBE.... $720 for 12 months comprehensive. Gonna stick with em Red17
  23. R33 Series 1 turbo has "Nissan 45V1" written on the intake housing.
