  8. 1976 KE30 Corolla with a 4AG twin cam in it.... my brother has one and i've had more fun in that thing than in my Skyline. Theres thousands of cheap parts available, the conversion is a piece of piss and with a bit of suspension work they get sideways as well make a good amatuer track car. And if its more power you want, theres plenty of other great toyota motors you can bolt in with minimal fuss in most cases. If i was 17 again and knew what I know now about engine conversions etc, id do it myself. Could easily build one for about 3 grand after restoring the body, buying front cut, suspension etc. Plus it'd probably have a similar power to weight ratio of an SR20 Q's silvia Red17
  9. I just bought some 18's second hand off a guy on SAU. 18 x 7.5 and 18 x 8.5's with 90 percent tread on the tyres for $1700. And they were by no means crap rims. Japanese made Manaray Sport VR5 Quests. http://www.marukanet.co.jp/wheel/vertec/vr5quest.html Theres some fantastic second hand bargains out there. To buy the VR5's new without rubber is $1500 for 4. 10. Thats bizarro. What happened? Did you call the police? Sounds like stolen car syndrome to me. Red17
  11. *looks out to the driveway* Oh look a 32 gtst M spec with a GTR kit. It seems most current 32 owners are hanging on to theirs at the moment. Red17
  12. $3200?. Im paying $700 for full comp on my R32, and thats with 2 accidents, 2 speeding fines and driving without due care on my record. However, age does help, im now 27 Red17
  13. Daze, you suck!
  14. Mine had the same when my AFM was dirty. Connect em up and spray them with some contact cleaner. Red17
  15. Skyline is already plural. It means lots of tall buildings.
  16. Elithrar, you wont be able to use the turbo off an S15 silvia without a fair bit of modification/custom exhaust manifolds. Flange bolt pattern is different. For my R32 im planning on running an R33 turbo, in fact I have it in a box in my cupboard. Its still ceramic of course but because the RB20 is smaller in capacity than the RB25 you can actually get away with a bit more boost (or perhaps the same level for longer). IM not after a big power output (only around the 250rwhp mark) so it should manage. I bought my R33 turbo for $400. Prices seem to range between 350-600. Red17
  17. Umm cant they import whatever the hell they like in New Zealand too? Something to do with them having huge numbers of old cars in the 70's so they changed their laws and design rules to mirror Japans. As a result you can get hold or just about anything without compliance. Red17
  18. Option 5 - Change ADR's to reflect Japans and import any damn car you like.... hang on, New Zealand did that already.
  19. Despite all the crap that gets slung on the other forums, you can always rely on you lads in Japan to brighten up the evening. Many thankyous! Red17
  20. As an R32 owner, im happy, as will alot of other R32 owners. However Id still like option 2 to be employed so the likes of Ceffies and Supras can still get in the country. Lets have a sensible system. How about an embargo for a further 5 years on 89 models and then move the limit up slightly. So over time your still letting in the nicer models but not ruining the value of others already in the country complied under SEVS. Say in 2010 you move the limit up to say 94. Red17

  22. Id like to congratulate myself for working 12 hour days plus weekends for 4 months. Oh and not getting paid overtime. Only 2 weeks left and I can have holidays, hallelujah! Red17
  23. Well some people can hardly help it if their came from Japan with the GTR body kit on it. I doubt someones going to go out of their way to make their car look worse and change it all back to stock parts (not saying GTSt's look bad in stock trim). However, sticking GTR's badges on it results in hilarity. Thats just asking for someone to laugh at you. Red17
  24. I sold my 1992 SSS 18 months ago with 240,000 on the clock, still didnt burn oil. 16 inch rims, full whiteline kit, konis, lowered springs, 2 sets of rims. Went for 7k... there was keen interest in it but nobody wanted to give me the advertised 8k Some cheeky father brought his son to look at it as his first car and he offered me 6k for my R32. Bastard... nearly kicked him out on his commodore drivin arse. Red17
  25. I imported mine for 16k about a year ago before the threat of the 15 year rule had any effect on value like it seems to now. Mines a manual 93 with full GTR body kit, including the ally bonnet, 92,000km. It has no ABS... which i love... coz quite frankly, i hate ABS. In pretty good nick once I tidied it up after coming off the boat. Heres a pic: http://www.arach.net.au/~n12a1/line5web.jpg I wouldnt buy an auto personally, but thats just down to preference. I'd say its a pretty nice vehicle, certainly looks like its been looked after from the photos. Be prepared for the value to drop when 15 year vehicles start to become more common as these are obtained pretty cheaply now (well under 10k for the dodgy lookin ones). But none of us buy cars as investments, theyre for driving! So we expect values to drop anyway Also make sure you check out the price on insurance before buying. Factor it in to your costs. Red17
