  1. Mine has this problem also. Mate went through 4 air con control units trying to fix his in his GTR... still no luck. I think the screens are just dodgy. Red17
  2. JiMiH my stocker bov was f'in loud when i had to get mine registered, they couldnt say a thing though because the compliance engineer had passed the air filter I had and therefore theres no possible way to shut the damn thing up! I hate the sound of the standard one, its so bloody loud its not funny. R33's must have the recirc pipe further down the line. I think the problem on the R32 occurs because the recirc pipe joins right before the air filter. Just take the standard one off and bolt a plate over the hole, its not illegal NOT to have a bov now is it! Just get the yellow off and put the bov back on. Red17
  3. Quote: "R33 GT-ST and GT-R's are in my rearview's more often than not (same goes for R34's). " LOL, this guy has been smoking some good crack! Must be in his rearview whilst standing still at the lights, thats about it. Red17
  4. Anton: as low as 10k for an 89 R32 GTSt. Check out prestige motorsports website. Most of them are a little dodgy. But ive seen 2 recently that have over 300hp for 14-16k. I *hate* the 15 year rule! Red17
  5. Birty, I dont have exact figures, but i can get hold of them from my mate whos doing a v8 silvia conversion. His research concluded that the VH41DE (not the more recent 45) is merely 50kg heavier than the CA18DET. The RB is clearly heavier than the CA so im guessing the VH might be well under. Red17
  6. Better steering wheel and interior bitz. Red17
  7. The R33 only cheapens the whole picture Red17
  8. See if you were in teh volvo then those roos wouldnt have had a chance. Good old Swedish engineering! Red17
  9. Id buy it but... well ive kinda got one already. Good luck with teh sale, its a top car Red17
  10. Ive never heard of these being reprogrammed, ever. As for the Mines ecu's, id always figured they were R32 ones, anyone out there with a mines R33 ecu? In general the cheapest option for R33 owners has usually been the Power FC. Red17
  11. sumna, the RB20 bov is f'in loud almost all the time no matter what condition its in, especially if you have a pod filter. Was it really sensitive too? go off just feathering the throttle? I replaced mine with a much quieter atmo venting bov (Thats not a typo). However ive still silenced this one, coz the noise is plain wanky. Red17
  12. Summoner, Then why do most of these so called illegal cars pass over teh pits first time, many without a single modification from the moment it was stickered? This is the issue I have with police not knowing what is illegal or not. Sure, owners need to get permits and most of the time DPI will tell them whats required and help out in that regard. But im sick of cops claiming something is illegal on the side of the road when its clearly not. Like my brother being asked to turn his fog lights off at an RBT in his 180SX. He doesnt have fog lights. The cop threatened him and said if he didnt turn them off straight away hed be fined. Once again my brother reinforced that they were park lights but the copper insisted they were fog lights. With cars banking up behind him the cop had to resign in the end. I mean if they cant tell the difference between fog lights and parkers then i gotta doubt their knowledge of car legalities. So for any police reading this, 180SX's DONT HAVE F&*CKING FOG LIGHTS! 13. Not sure about how hard the R33 one is to get to, but mate had a 300ZX which had to have the entire dashboard removed to get to it. Job ended up being about 100 dollars in parts and 700 in labour. Just hope its easy to get to. If you can, take it out yourself and get it repaired/replaced, that way you save a heap of cash. You can still drive the car around without it for a while if you plug up the water lines on the firewall. Red17
  14. If they looked under mine theyd think ive got some sort of secondary intake filter. I have my BOV silenced with a piece of foam which is tidily O Clamped into place. Looks a bit like one of them foamie socks you stick on quad throttle body flutes. Red17
  15. Oh great, more cops wasting DPI Inspectors time. No doubt 90 percent of the cars they sticker will go straight over the pits and get the sticker removed. On the up side its nice to see someone admit that until now theyve had no idea what is illegal or not... so much so that theyve needed a training session to find out. Red17
  16. You havent inadvertently released the lever that allows you to adjust the steering wheel angle/height ? Red17
  17. Depends on what he means by "single knock". If its just one loud "thok thok thok" noise when he first raises the revs then it can be just as bad as many knocks Lets just hope its just sometihng loose hitting a fan or something Red17
  18. Indeed, the charade rocked for fuel economy. I was going from Rockingham to Mt Lawley every day too so it helped alot! Red17
  19. Ill give you $100 for teh 2 guards Im in Perth but I can provide a Sydney address for delivery if you want. Red17
  20. Sounds to me like a death rattle eg: if its not dead yet, it will be soon. Rebuild time. Red17
  21. 1992 Daihatsu Charade 3 Cylinder *w00t!* It got me to uni and back,... umm slowly 1992 Nissan Pulsar SSS, sold it to a guy who now lives up the road from me, 2 accidents, now about 4 shades of white. 1992 R32 GTSt, Gun Grey... yummy.... not bored with it yet It seems 92' was a good year for me In the future.... Cefiro Stagea R34 Red17
  22. Yeah great news, but if they were so supportive of drifting why did they try so hard to shut it down and stop us from doing it under the excuse of it damaging the track. Way back in the AFARCC days. Red17
  23. Well my mate has the permits and the go ahead from the engineers to put it in a Silvia so putting it in a 32 or 33 shouldnt be a problem. This is in Perth btw. So ive got no idea if it would be legal over your side of the country. Red17
  24. Precisely the reason I went with a big single pipe because it was just too hard to find a dual pipe design that looked decent, short of buying a HKS. To be honest i dont think theres a whole lot wrong with big singles, theyre ALOT better than stock. Red17
  25. Parts are hard to come by? Doesnt anyone think to call Nissan? The R32 GTR was sold in australia, all spares can be sourced through Nissan. In fact i've heard you can get spares for 33 and 34's through Nissan now too. Red17
