  1. what does the rally insurance cover? whats the cost like? and is it like road car insurance where people pay more or less depending on their age?
  2. get this into ya! it might help ya! http://secretdrift.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=17443 he says he has the same setup in his r33 but with the cable brake still attatched for street.
  3. dont let the car run out of rego if your planning on resurecting it a year l8r. unless you are going to go and get an engineers cert for the mods. and if u are going to have it engineered u might as well book the car for an emissions test at least a month b4 u are planning on re-registering it (because they usually have a months wait give or take for the car to be able to be seen by them). ive been thru this and so have many others that have had their car run 3 months past rego expiry. reasons for this:- * mechanics want a completely stock car to go over when the car needs a blue slip. its kind of like having the car freshly imported and having to have it complianced. it needs to b completly stock.
  4. omg thats insane.
  5. the events for 2008 are on the home page. http://www.initialdrift.com.au/
  6. man, some good replys. thats given me some good ideas. i hear u gary re: the 4wd is needed in muddy situations. im still looking arround though. the ordfay sounds like the best option so far. it seems as though the 2.6 petrol mazda bravo wont cut the mustard without some extra heavy duty work done to the rear end. not to mention load bareing tyres. found out it was easy enough to go out and buy a 2.5 tonne tow bar and assembly 2nd hand easily enough for the bravo though. i was being told by a hard to understand serbian fellow at work today that the lpg systems on cars need to have checkups regularly. he says that once a year isnt good enough and that most people dont even do it that often. he's an ex taxi driver. he said that their cars were inspected on a 3 month basis. i dont know how true that story is re: road cars. how often do AU fords need a rebuild? id expect them to go to 500,000klm no probs with regular oil changes and being treated right. all of the ones in my price range are at the 200,000klm mark.
  7. you could buy the kit sell the turbo and get a kkr to throw on the mani. i personally know of a daily driven/drift car , http://www.driftgarage.com.au/ ,the owners personal s13 is running a kkr 430 and the turbz is fine. also they are a distributer of them. tell luis, craig with the white R33 sent you. also mentiion skylines australia.

  11. it gets cheaper if you havent had a tarnished driving record.
  12. gold. thats what i wanted to hear.it does the job. a bit slow on the freeways though. but like u said it can be forgiven for it's cheap running costs. whats the furthest youve taken it with the race car on the back?
  13. im going to sell it in the not to distant future mate. it's costing me a fortune to run it everyday with high 98ron petrol prices, insureance, reg. and giving it the regular oil changes etc. the silvia will be is lighter as standard. and should have a fun ammount of power. and be cheaper to maintain.
  14. will it be doing any track testing prior to targa?
  15. edit: link to same thread thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ute-Buy-t209566.html
  16. im going to be putting myself into the same boat. and was thinking just hire a trailer to go to and from events for the time being.
  17. i want to buy a ute for work/personal transport. and im looking to buy it in lpg/gas. these are the utes i was looking at. nissan navara ford falcon au mazda bravo dx in particular will the 4cyl's have the power to pull a track car arroud? the track car would be arround the weight of a stripped and caged silvia on a trailer. allong with some spare tyres and tools.
  18. just noticed that its pillarless. u wont want to roll this 10 tonne tessie. or ud b crushed.
  19. thats looking a bit more like it. with 370 kw it be a great aussie supercar. probably weighs close to 2 tonne though. i can never understand the reasoning behind wanting to make a heavy supercar.
  20. nice. bronze on black.
  21. afm is whaty i tink also.
  22. im looking at selling mine in the not to distant future. i will go private all the way. from the sounds of it, it's worth the wait.

  24. i think you have to havea pretty full on drift car before companys like tein will start to sponsor u. comp results and i guess just being out there and showing that u can actually drift are the biggest ways of becoming noticed. M2C..
