Intercooler water spray - Is too much water bad?
Trust33 replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That is a better possibility than a pressure activation to me also.Reason being how many other things have you got running from a pressure source going from turbo to plenum.Gauge,Boost controller, aftermarket gauge it all adds up giving a less quick respone time to the vitals of the water spray system.Give the pressure side of things bit of a rest. The autospeed system is way more accurate but on the other hand is also way more expensive than what some are prepared to pay. You could go like autospeed and use the controll box with numerous sensors one of which being an injector ohms/duty cycle, activation switch with a memory delay built in for compensations which save the life of the pump and make more accurate use of the water....I think it actually memorises the cycles of the engine and from those numerous sensors can give accurate and controlled sprays. No matter what,You will get heat soak at the lights because you need flowing ambient air to cool with the water.Unless you have a front mount with a fan sucking the cool air in,it would not be a waste of time for those launches at the lights where by the time you are in 3rd - 4th gear it would have a great cooling temp to run on. Try this!! thermo wrap the bottle and remotely mount it.Have you ever taken your frozen bottle of water to school wrapped in a tee-taal..It stays like a block of ice and does not loose much of its integrity/ice form...Now wrapped in a thermal insulation it would be a killer combo for cold running water. And would also work in the engine bay but not to the degree where it would be as cold as what it would be if it were in the boot. :type: :type: :type: :type: :type: :type: :type:  -

What valve springs have you chosen? Is that 8.5k spent on the engine? -
Tomei Poncams Installed ! Hmmm power...
Trust33 replied to rev210's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
good luck rev210.....are the adj cam gears in your opinion absolutly nessesary as i heard that there was not all that much more power to be coaxed from the rb 25 after it has cams installed, meaning that the adj cam gears dont do all that much in th eway of making power because the lift and duration are meant to be perfect..Which i tend not to beleive. How can an adj cam gear not create a wider power band? My only theory is that it can create too much overlap resulting in a piston meeting the vave....Correct me if im wrong... -
Sk when would geno8r's style of turbo run out of puff with a set of tomei poncams. And would a high flow stock unit be anywhere near his turbos capabilities with the same seutp and cams.Cheers sk....

Sure they are.Make sure when you get them cleaned that they are flow tested and you have a sheet to proove it.. My thinking on that question is no i wouldnt worry about it but too much cause there are inj's that flow enough for your needs and they drop straight in..Just get an adj fpr..Correct me if you know any better. Conclusion: yes injectors indeed.I belive there to be some 550cc for sale on the forums atm for $650...Plus i heard that the injectors run out of puff at 370hp@ the flywheel.Definently go for a ecu+z32,adj fpr.The stock fuel rail should be fine but it never hurts. And a tune.. The skys the limit...... Ecu:$800 up. Z32:$250 up. Adj Fpr:Cheap ones $150.Brands like sard, nismo $300 up. Oil catch can:Also depends on where/what u buy.$100 uppppp

Once upon a time i used to own a gemini.Auto might i add.It had 3 motors put in by myself and a little help from friends. The 2nd motor which was built professionally. One night whilst driving down the m4 motorway had a terrible tapping sound that only seemed to get louder as the revs rose then all of a sudden nothing.....We later pulled the motor apart to realise that a conrod main bolt had worked its way loose only leaving 1 bolt to hold it to the crank.+ the revs added to letting it sail into a valve......Was not impressed that night.

I am no mechanic. But u could be getting slight leakage whilst under heavy load.Allot of older cars get it.It may be because of an old/wornish gasket etc..Good luck!!
