  1. Never had problems until you continually use it and end up with no clear left its WAY to abrasive, and if you had an eye for paint you would see substantial swirls and marring where used. NO WAY I WOULD EVER USE OR RECCOMEND USING IT ON SOMEONES CAR. its just as cheap and ALOT better to buy Poorboys SSR1 and a hand polishing pad from Waxit so why not do it properly, dont see the point in spending so much money on a car and have your pride and joy just to skimp on proper maintinence....but thats just me maybe.
  2. A clay bar removes contaminants and industrial fall out from your paint, it wont remove marks or scratches. Polishing is what removes that. My other thread may help you http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/369354-detailing-and-car-care-de-coded/ Regards, Mitch
  3. Thanks mate sounds like I have to get some now . Which swissvax have you used.
  4. where is this tool thread?
  5. Do you mean you clay bar after a polish? Paint cleanser and a clay bar are VERY different a clay bar will remove all the iron particles, industrial fall out, and other contaminants where as a paint cleanser wont. A paint cleanser will help prepare the paint for a wax or sealant helping remove oils that will hinder the wax or sealant from adhering. Just as an FYI. Ps check out my site the 1964 Cadillac had approx 25 hours machine polishing alone not including any thing else! www.immaculatereflections.com.au Regards, Mitch
  6. By Brushed Ali Im guessing you mean aluminium? If so try your local electroplater they will do brushed aluminium and alot cheaper!
  7. And heaps that isnt on their site I reccomend giving them a call. Plus 12.50 flat rate for shipping makes it well work while on larger orders and over 150 I think is FREE well worth it
  8. Personally I would well and truely reccomend Bowdens Body Cleanser over the Autoglym found at www.bowdensown.com.au and as for wax Ive used the HD, but I was in at Waxit speaking to Antonio on the weekend and he has reccomended I try the DP Max ax they have for sale at $27.99 yet to try it but I will soon! Regards, Mitch
  9. BAHHH $450! I do a basic detail for $350 plus $50 for clay bar Thats full wash interior polish and sealant and wax! Call Antonio at Waxit as said above and speak to him about a heavier clay bar. Id reccomend that first.
  10. Id buy it straight from waxit.com.au with a 12.50 flat rate shipping get some shampoo and a chamois or something also. Regards, Mitch
  11. Hi Callan, A claybar is the best way, I will make the assumption you bought a kit from a local autoparts store? Claybars come in various levels fine medium heavy generally, try a heavier bar, this will have a tendancy to marr the paint so you will need to follow up with a polish to perfect it again. What sort of prices are you getting for a claying?
  12. Call Antonio at Waxit.com.au 9330 2177, they have small bottles of polishes, explain to him what its for and order a bottle and a hand pad that they have in stock (much better than just a applicator). Regards, Mitch
  13. Hi Derrick, I would use Duragloss Water Spot Remover (click link) it works a treat. Let me know how you go. Regards, Mitch
  14. Correct, I would suggest you give your car a wash, claybar, and wash again then apply a decent wax. You only need to clay bar 6 monthly at worst but most likely yearly. These are what I would use on a budget. Clay Bar Kit Wax Wash Shampoo Regards, Mitch
  15. My advice would be as above IF you have a polisher wouldnt use a microfibre to do it. If you dont have one get a clay bar and do you whole car at the same time itll make a BIG difference, Waxit Claybar Kit , This will last 2 or 3 cars easily. This will and shoudl remove the exhaust stains, To help prevent further contamination I would use , Cquartz , the 10mL will cover the rear bar, and wheels easily which I would reccomend doing. Seems like a bit of money but I GUARANTEE youll look back in 3-4 months and go DAMN! glad I did that. Regards, Mitch
  16. In short, yes you can. In long, I like to polish then us an IPA 50/50mix with water wipe down to get rid of any residue, then follow up with a synthetic sealant topped with a wax for that extra depth. Regards, Mitch
  17. I am actually heading up to QLD at some stage this year to Bowdens for a meeting but doubt itll be prior to end of august unfortunatly, sorry.
  18. WOW....Thank you very much, I agree it is all the little areas that make the difference....I get asked why I do little parts sometimes and I always have the same answer the bits that people dont notice have been done but would notice if they werent are what takes it to the next level, door jams, inside petrol cap, rub all the dirty finger marks from the sun visors ect.... This is what I believe sets myself apart from most other detailing companies and I take a huge pride in. Once again thanks for the very kind words. Regards, Mitch
  19. Sorry but I find loading a fair few pics good because there are alot of "playboy readers" out there 1. Polishes by machine waxes and sealants by hand 2. I used a DA Polisher with Lake Country pads, orange with the 106 and white constant pressure pad with 85RD 3. Yes all products are 100% safe on clears though with iron-x you don't want to let it dry, but this should be a general rule for all cleaning products. 4. The detail took me around 8 hours all up, though this can vary extremely with different paints and colours. I found the red on the this car extremely good to work with unlike some cars where finishing up on a white pad and 85RD will still leave minor holograms this car didnt so I left that as a final polishing stage and followed up with the Bowdens Own Paint Cleanser on a black Lake Country pad using the DA once again. 24. There not roid guts, they are in one of the most highly tested anabolic sports in the world. But eating 8-12 THOUSAND calories a day can cause it. Dereck Poundstone from memory eats 700-900g's of protein a day alone!
