    2 weeks ago $240 cash. 200-300 per wheel is wild for sandblasting and can't see a wheel costing more then $100 per wheel to powder coat.

    I got a quote to restore a set of Volk racing gtc wheels at a wheel restoration shop which involved repainting the centres fixing some small gutter rash and repolishing them and the quote was $2.5k I ended up getting them sandblasted and powdercoated for $240

    Crisis averted... after 15 hours of sanding the centres are fitted lol. Will make sure this never happens again.

    They just said 40 grit lol I wasn't going to try and get them to do it, needs more care then they would give it.

    Yeah, it is a sand it all job tried to fit the centres and they don't fit anymore. Powder coat doesn't seem to be to thick so that's a plus.

    Hello, I got my wheels powder coated and they've powder coated bloody everything the mating surface and hub (even told them not to lol) anyway should I leave it or remove it. (Would be very hard) I've searched a lot and lots of powder coaters don't mask the mating surface but do mask the hub surface. How bad it powder coat on the mating surface or hub? My question is what should I do?

    Yeah. I believe the fear of annealing the alloy and weakening it, Every online discussion has someone saying it's bad and potentially a risk when powder coating forged wheels.

    Anyone know if it's a problem to powder coat forged alloy wheel centers (Rays/Volk GT-C). some say it's bad and can damage the alloy, some say it's not a problem.

    Ok, thanks, legends. I'm hoping I don't need to pull out the window regulator. I was thinking when the window is out, the regulator mechanism shouldn't interfere with the corner piece and then be able to be removed through the speaker hole. Fit the new corner piece and then refit the window, and Bob will still be our uncle.

    Hello, I brought the door corner piece awhile ago and trying to gain enough courage to try and replace it. Has anyone on SAU replaced the door corner piece on there car or pulled apart there door/glass and have any tips? Or a detailed door diagram of sorts?     I steam cleaned my near new set of volk gtc wheels 14 years ago and farrkkked them lol. The clear coat cracked like spider webbing in several areas. Lesson learnt don't do that. 😭
