  1. Apparently its $55 or $50K. Being German built i wonder what build quality is like though?
  2. Awaiting Ford Focus RS arrival. Drift mode looks fun and they staunched the 2.3L up from the muzzie also!
  3. ^^^See proof Pete! Told you everyone wants to go bigger when it comes to EFR's haha
  4. I highly doubt transient will be any better between the 2 turbos you are looking at. The 8374 is INSTANT. Even when shifting at 5000 if you snatch the gear quick enough it just goes WHACK straight back on its f**ken unreal! So 3 questions... 1. Do you still want it low mounted? Because if thats a yes it eliminates the 8374 straight away cos that f**ker is huge! 2. Are you 100% set on IWG? 3. Will you be willing to settle for 360-380kw to keep the 7670 happy? I.E from overspinning it. Consider these things Pete. The price of a custom low mount manifold. The price of a custom manifold will probably offset the cost of twin gates and plumbing them in. While twin gates will probably still be more expensive the EWG 1.05 will give the 7670 a better chance of survival because the larger rear will slow spool down a tad down low which will probably increase your power curve over all. It also keeps your options open if you choose to go a different path in the future. Low mounting your manifold will increase your runner length which will effect your torque curve. Won't make boost threshold any later but may shift your torque curve to the right. It also makes it hard to optimise merge angles on the collector also going lowmount. All things that effect the efficiency of your setup. Just to add i drove Intunes 9.0:1 compression RB30 with poncams & 8374 on the weekend and the thing starts to rip your face off at 3500 in 2nd gear its insane! Its honestly not like any RB ive ever driven before. Id expect very similar/the same spool from your higher comp larger lift cam setup. Its in no way unresponsive. If you read the EvoM forums you will see a common trend. Everyone that put on a particular sized EFR all wished they went bigger haha! Hope this helps.
  5. See this is all the data ya typical twin turbo tosser can come up with lol. I have a 7670 with 1.05 rear for my 2L with mivec and i expect that to be alive before 4K so i believe the 1.05 8374 would probably have you all in around 4000rpm Pete. Don't be scared off the 1.05 thinking it will make your laggy mate
  6. If you were looking at Evo results Pete even though they are a smaller motor evos bring on turbos insanely well so 2.2-2.3L strokers are probably alot more comparable than you may think
  7. Pete im obviously passionate about this stuff so i feel just in having a rant I have done ALOT of research, driven and worked on ALOT of amazing expensive well sorted cars in both twin and single forms and i can tell you that the singles i have driven out performed the twins in response/power and throttle response. Thing is you say im making myself look silly mate yet all the points i make about singles vs twins none of you "twins guys" can produce any data to prove me wrong? You say this turbo goes from nothing to everything? Yet it makes 250kw @ 4000 & goes on to make another 300kw up top. No twins EVER do that.
  8. Good luck today Patrick! Look forward to seeing your results!
  9. Dude are f**king serious?! Very on off?! Find a set of twins with a curve that fat?! Paul couldn't even make 250kw @ 4000 with a million dollar head and a high comp stroker and EVERYTHING tampered with in some way to bring these things on! This destroyed Pauls AMAZING twin turbo result. Find a curve that matches or beats Paul's car with twins with 2.8L? Bet you will be hard pressed finding a 3L with more grunt down low. This twin turbo mentality like a f**king disease in you kents! The whole if its "not twin turbo" a single turbo makes it a gts4 or im a "purist" it has to be twin turbo. What a load of shit! If you're a purist why are you modifying your car? Leave it stock thats pure! If you're a purist why are you putting a faarkin commodore block in your car?! Thats not pure either! At the end of the day we are all modifying our cars to be faster are we not? I get the whole thing of wanting "stock appearing" i do and thats fine if the po po are hot in your area it makes sense. But even still realistically how many cops are actually gunna know that GTR'S are TWIN TURBO? I bet 4 out of 5 wouldn't faarkin know. But if you are trying to genuinely build a fast responsive car twins in the bin single for the win. / rant Oh wait not yet... Every twin turbo car i have been in is dead down low then BANG hold the f**k on heres the power! Every single car that i have driven has had much more linear smooth progressive power that is way easier to "drive fast" the very thing EVERY twin turbo the sphincter of the universe thinks a single is and "hates it" because of this fact. Pull ya heads outta ya asses because i can tell you ITS NOT LIKE THAT! Ok im done now lol!
  10. So you can find out 1st hand how hard they will fail and prove me right about all the shit i been harping on about in the GTX thread? Of how GTX compressors wont work with factory location housings?Garrett put these compressor wheels in their own housings for a reason mate Honestly Pete you will be making the right move taking the EFR route. So what if the GTX wheels turn out to be a "tad better" (which i highly doubt) will the machining costs etc be worth it? The EFR will still punch holes in them from 800rpm - 8000rpm in every single way and the money spent on machining etc goes to a manifold for the single an intake pipe, a cooler pipe change and a dump pipe. The offset in the price wouldn't be that much different (if going IWG .92) BUT i guarantee the result and the way the car drive will be 100% better!
  11. In all honesty Pete you'd be MAD not to! A 7670 with 1.05 rear on your car would shit 400kw in and be all in at well under 4000rpm! Your GTX's WILL NOT do that! Nor will they have that zing under your foot or the transient response the 7670 will have! If i ever pull my finger out and finish the evo off. Im pretty confident my stock 2L with mivec will be making full boost by at least 3800. If you are honestly thinking about it Pete sell up now mate and jump on an EFR you wont regret it! I been on Pauls case for ages about EFR's he and his mate saw the light and now look how excited Paul is after his 1st taste of EFR goodness. Paul and I have been spoilt and have been in and driven some pretty epic cars and for us to be this impressed means its DEFINATELY something special! ?
  12. Paul you've changed! Clearly not a fan of response anymore? EVERY GTR owner knows you go twins for response!
  13. Consistency is the key!
  14. Lol or this! ^^^^
  15. It is well known that dynojet number's are ALOT higher than dyno dynamics or mainline dynos here in Oz. Run it up on a mustang dyno that will give us a far closer number. Im sorry but on a stock head and stock cooler etc that your car has that power simply isn't possible! Dynojets are around 15% higher than our dynos on average.
  16. CORRECT! ^^^^ Just ask Piggaz about that!
  17. LOL 350KW?! You're being generous! ? Ahhhh Mick finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Go towards the light my child. When you get to the end of the tunnel you will see a 9180
  18. GTR owners NEVER look at turbines! There is 2 sides to a turbo! WAKE UP YOU SILLY KENTS! ? Sorry had a couple of bevvies ?
  19. Yes the compressor might. But will the turbine allow it to flow that extra air? Probably not!
  20. I told him he was soft Brett! This thread needs more V cam..... Just sayin.....
  21. Coming soon.....We will be on the job again this weekend hopefully! Should have the gate lines ran and plumbed into the dump... If not we will drink bulk piss and eat 800g steaks with all the trimmings to celebrate regardless of how far we get!
  22. Benny has tuned my Evo a couple of times now and we speak quite regularly. Hes not only an epic dude but as Alex said he is a super fussy tuner! He threw my car on the dyno and 4hrs later i still hadn't even had a power run done yet lol! About half hour after that he popped out to show me my peak power numbers. I thought great lets take it for a spin?! Nope he disappeared back into the dyno cell to spread my torque curve out and make it as fat as possible! In my chats to him he has tuned a couple of 26's so it won't be completely foreign to him. While he is an evo guru he does tune a wide array of other things like 1J's & SR's etc. I can assure you you won't have any regrets using Benny to sprinkle his magic fairy dust over your pride and joy ☺
