  1. Since you are in Melbourne go to see Hypergear for a turbo replacement, they high flow or make bolton turbo, I'm sure he can knock some thing up within your budget then go to see Chequred tuning for dyno tune.
  2. nice setup you've got. My brother's bought a ATP gold compressor wheel for his Ford XR6 3582 turbocharger. can you fit the wheel and balance that turbo?
  3. How did the new born perform? better then my SS1PU?
  4. Hypergear uses the test car to show maximum turbo capacity, those results are probably of when they stops making power. I'm making 261rwkws close to stock response out of their ss1pu turbo on 17psi of boost. Give Stao a ring and pay him a visit, he can high flow your stockie or customize some thing for your needs.
  5. Seems to be what most people are getting out of E85 from the dynosheet section, even Simon's T67's not showing true potential till 7000RPMs+, there is no match in mid range power and torque to SS2.
  6. stock turbo would be snapped in half before it could reach its surging limit. might've been afm dirty or miss firing.
  7. heat soak obviously affect power that is why your car drives like sht in a 50 degrees day compare to a 15 degrees days. The cut out on the front bumper bar do affect heat exchanging, after squashing a 600x300x75 cooler kit into my s14's stock front bar the edge that is covered is much hotter then the center that is exposed. Got rid of it and installed a open mouth vertex, that worked out much better.
  8. Get a stock turbo high flowed from hypergear, they about same response as stock and makes around the 240rwkws mark. Or get their ATR43 ss1pu for responsive 260rwkws mark as I'm using one my self at moment. It appears to be a .86 turbine with a billet compressor in .60 compressor, internally gated, factory bolton. They run fnt turbine nozzles so their response don't necessary follow the A/R size. My dyno sheet is in the dyno result section
  9. Fark that is lot of power for a tinny turbo. Wondering what my ss1pu can do on a similar setup. why stopping at 22psi? that's not your style
  10. You can slap on a hypergear's billet SS2 bolton turbo that goes up to around 370rwhp mark with pretty decent response. Or check out Kando T67, Hypergear's Billet T67, Precision and Garrett 3076 if you are going for high mount with external gate.
  11. I found this pretty informative to read, it had descriptions about different types and effects of manifolds. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/log_style_vs_equal_length_manifolds
  12. Check through hypergear's high flow thread. It looks identical to what they've recently tested. It was up against a local hand made manifold as well as a factory "high flowed" manifold. From memory it made the turbo laggier but had similar power as their version of modified stock manifold. Either way it will out perform full standard factory exhaust manifold, so worth getting.
  13. I've got the SS1PU on stock manifold at this stage. Will there be much of a gain using your manifold?
  14. Hypergear is a bolton turbo, so it is far cheaper then Kando items counting installation costs. If you are comparing internal gate, stock manifold bolton performance its obvious that hypergear is a winner. Some of their latest billet turbos performed extremely well. They've released their billet version of TD06 SL2 20Gs that again appeared to be more responsive and punching out better no.s. For a bolton turbo internally gated turbo for "Up to" 280rwkws I would definitly go for an hypergear item. Or if the decision is on a SL2 20G I would still go for a Hypergear's Billet 20G. for a 25G I probably go for a Kando item.
  15. To my understanding that the correction method makes the HP reading true in situations that would alter the output of the actual performance levels. It is calculated based on humility, air density, temperature, and altitude. Without correction the result could significantly differ depending on surrounding environment, but not necessarily only to a more positive or negative extend. As If I knew the dyno has no corrections then I would want to have my car tuned at night when humility is low. air temp is cold with higher air density.
  16. jumping into the Greedy wagon lol. Will there be much improvement compare to your current atr43 ss turbos?
  17. Good work. Have you driven it on road? I might get mine done also for the ss1pu turbo.
  18. That is dame good for pump 98 result. looks more responsive then my ss1pu. what sort of boost were you running stao?
  19. There should be some of power loses having anti surge cover. also depending on how they were made, some Garrett 3076 and HKS 3037 comes with anti surge housings and they don't lose much of power.
  20. 1.3mm is pretty thick, thats some thing been used to de-comp a NA motor. running that on your engine will increase turbo lag, how ever probably allowing more top end power. I would use it if its for me own car, but if you run that on a test car then your results would be different to a normal Rb25det. So my opinion is stock head gasket.
  21. Get the Hypergears SS1PU. That is a very responsive turbo with a super strong punch. Wait. just noticed OP ask for a Rb20det turbo lol. For that power check out their high flows and the smaller SS1.
  22. S2 R33 skyline 550cc injectors Front mount cooler 3.5inch turbo back exhaust Hypergear SS1PU turbo EBC Split fire coil packs. 3inch custom intake with pod Maximum power 261rwkws with 16psi of boost. Response king.
  23. Not sure how the gallery thing works on this forum. the direct link is below
  24. Get the latest SS2 and put it on a 6boost, much better response. their prices has been marked down recently. Run that on a high mount and external gate and E85 it probably be making more then Stao's car as he always been running internal gate.
  25. Mine has: 3.5 inch exhaust (decat all the way though) 550c injectors SS1PU Adaptronic plugin (Used to have a wolf 3D) 3 inch intake Splitfire coils Unknow cooler came with the car. The best run was 261rwkws when car's cold, and average is 255rwkws after couple of runs. sheet is attached.
