hey guys just looking for some ideas here. started my car the other morning. and had no oil pressure so shut it off straight away. tried turning car over with no fuel or cas. and nothing so replaced pump with a rb25 pump new also added a shim to the pump like i did with the 30 pump. and started car and had 100psi on cold start. once car was at temp it was 25 30 psi. but strange on light load 3000rpm oil pressure jumps to 100 psi. engine is a rb26/30 running hpr15 oil . did try thinner grade and same issue. using electric autometer oil pressure gauge does this sound like a dodgy relief vavle spring

hey guys just wanted opinions on weather to use the 272 cams ive got in my 26/30 or run stock cams. as ive seen alot of setups making big power with stock cams. im running a 66mm borgwarner. haltech ecu. e85 . and a freshen up a6 bottom end , personally the idea of having stock cam and keeping the car quiter would be ideal. but if its going to cause issues for driveabiltiy with the larger turbo id rather not

hey guys does anyone know wether i can put some uprated gears in a rb30e oil pump. as i dont want to run a n1 oil pump and pull the crank out and get a collar put on. ive measured the rb30e outter gear and its touch under 81mm and 11mm thick. rang ring for a new rb30 pump and there $1500 any help would be great

I did order the oem cam gear bolts from Nissan but ill check the spacing of the cas to gear tomorrow. Thanks for your help so far

ah ok na there will all good from the motor i used. all was running fine before it was used for this conversion. would you happen to know how bigger spacing would be needed for c.a.s not to knock cam gear bolts

do you mean lifer buckets that the shims are under ? if so yep i had them checked and all were in spec. not to sure what you mean by small end bushes.

ah ok ive heard this. especially when not running the cam cover. witch im not. i would of thought the noise would be from idle. not from certain rpm. but i will have a look at that. cheers mate

we did try that and it sounded like it was coming from exhaust head side on number 1.unplugged each coil one at a time . noise still remained . its a real head scratcher

ah ok so guess that rules that out. can a cas cause a sound like this. my tenisoner and idly puller and belt are all brand new

hey guys just got my engine together and once it started. from around 3000rpm there is a rattle from the top end. at first it sounded like a broken valve spring. but at idle car is quiet. so decided to take head off and have it sent off to be inspected and checked. head came back a week later and turned out fine. all parts were inspected and checked for clearances. also in mean time i checked the piston heights incase it was a bottom end bearing. but motor before 26 head conversion was very sound. so head go's back on and start car up and noise is still there. now the ecu is a haltech elite witch has just got a base map on it. one person from the machine shop where the head was done. said it could be detonation ? car is running e85 with 2200cc injectors. im just looking for some feedback or ideas. as this is got me stuffed and i dont wanna give the car to the tuner with issues cheers guys

from what ive read. not any spring compressor tool will work. as the springs are so low down in the head.

hey guys just got a question in regards to the water lines on a rb26 inlet manifold. basically running a rb26/30 with a oil cooled borgwarner turbo and need to know if i can just block off the factory water line barbs on the rb26 intake manifold. there run through a large tube on the manifold. and those two hoses run to the twin turbo's. if blocking off would these cause any issues to the cooling effect on the motor cheers guys

rb25 cam covers on rb26 hey guys just wanted to find out if there is any issues with fitting rb25 covers on a rb26 building a rb26/30 and have gone into it not knowing how pricey some rb26 stuff is. so just to get the engine running sooner. can i fit the 25 covers. or will this affect the engine.average prices for 26 covers range from $500 upwards
