Lowering Springs
MatthewT85 replied to Fryday13's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i actually broke a piece of my parcel shelf cause i didnt realise there are little clips you have to remove from inside the boot that hold it too the vent. i found it easier to remove by removing the metal bracket/brace thing on either side of the shelf so i could bend each side down and lift the centre to make it easier... -

thats pretty much whats needed, i think one of the electrical things has something to do with the fuel gauge, went for a drive without reconnecting it and fuel gauge went to E -

33 gtst shocks have to be removed from inside the car, which means removing the seats and maybe the parcel tray, i installed coilovers in mine not too long ago, seats pretty easy to do just a lot of extra work... -
i find on my 33 it does the same thing, my temp control doesnt change have to fix it, but it wont allow hot air in if i make sure i have the recirculate button on dunno if it would be the same as yours though
-
no hose goes to the gauge, from what i see, hose goes from t to the sensor, then one plug goes into the sensor, and another into the back of the gauge, then the wires are wired up to the car... thats what it looks like

yeah ive now been given that option, radiator place said they would remove the plenum nad then weld a piece on, mechanic said theyd remove the pipe and fit a new one, i think what im going to do is just get it removed and then new one fitted, and if anything goes wrong then yeah will be looking for a plenum... hopefully wont come to that though. but ill keep it in mind!!!
-
thanks yeah thats what i was told by a mechanic, he'd seen it a couple of times, he also said that someone like midas could make one up easily, not sure now if i want to try and remove the old piece myself now... :s yeah nissan dont make that part which sucks, did try and see if aftermarket plenums had the same size but couldnt get it separate to find out so looks like getting one made or new inlet manifold is the way... which is also a lot of messing around

Radiator Leak Off Plenum Inlet - Help Needed
MatthewT85 replied to sky017's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hope you guys can help out, i have a problem with my standard rb25 plenum, that exact part has corroded in mine, so needs replacing, i have been talking to a guy on another thread who had the same issue and just hammered in a pipe to replace, do you guys know if the standard plenum is the same as the greddy, where its a pipe like yours that you can hammer in? as i have been told it is, but want to be 100% before i try and remove the corroded piece, also where did you guys but that pipe from, or did it come with the plenum? -
serious? from what i could see, and in my pics it doesnt look like it would come out too easy
-
thanks, i just spoke to a mechanic today about it, he said hes seen it on an rb20 and another 25 and said its just press fitted in? and that he just removes the old bit and puts another in there, said midas could make up a pipe for it, i guess its just like yours

bit on the engine pretty much like that, cant figure out how to upload again :S http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/391336-radiator-rusted-pipes/
-
yeah sure, but its not something i wanted to find but i see what you mean better now than later... hopefully
-
so went and took the top radiator hose off to check... and found something i def didnt want to see, the bottom part of the bit the rad hose fits to had rusted! took a photo will upload when i can, so searched the forum to see if there are any fixes, found a thread where one person said they had to replace the entire lower plenum, if thats what its called. another person said hes just hammered in a pipe slightly smaller to fix it, i guess replaceing the whole thing is the best, is the second an ok option? any other ideas? for the moment cause there was enough still remaining i moved the clamp so its actually sealing... or seems like its sealing, but def gonna need a fix soon!
-
thanks did you find lots of rusted crap when you flushed it? did you have any temp issues at the time? my cars temp gauge sits at around half way thats what made me start to look into it, found the leak then took the pipe off
-
do you have any pics of how you fixed this, i just took off my top radiator hose cause it had a small leak, it didnt look as bad as yours but near enough wondering how i should go about fixing it as well,
-
so i have noticed my top radiator hose connecting my engine is leaking a bit with what looks like some corrosion around where the clamp is, will look at it tomorrow, cause the cars hot atm, just wondering how you can tell if the water pump or thermostat is stuffed? also on a stockish 33 where should the temp gauge be sitting, lately ive noticed it at pretty much half way, but for some reason think that when i first got it ti was lower

i cant answer everything you've asked, but my car came with an hks super dragger cat back 3 inch, which was really quiet, JASMA approved, i had to get the mid muffler removed cause it had a hole and was making car too low when i got it back here, was still quiet, i recently put a jjr front dump and 5inch high flow cat and still is fine sound wise. the only problem i had with the jjr is when i got it installed the eshaust guy said it didnt bolt straight up, it had to be heated and shifted a bit.... cops are generally laid back here, unless you are hammering it high in the rev range. ummm when you say is a high flow needed i guess it depends on what your plans on your car are, also when i emailed george from venom, he recommended the 5 inch body,

thanks, went to berkley and he said turbo out to get at it, although he didnt look at it, then went round to carline, and he said na not necessarily turbo out, he doesnt like easyouts. i left it with him and he heated the turbo and got it out, said all bolts were pretty stuffed, and then he said he had to adjust the front dump to make it fit, which prob was a good thing i let him do it! id definately recommend him to anyone who needs an exhaust specialist. yeah i could have taken out the turbo myself, we have just done it to my bro 180, just thought i need my car nearly everyday, so to have a day to work on it and have something go wrong was soemthing i couldnt afford... if i did anything wrong... also i did have a highflow and new 02 put in at the same time
-
so went to install my new front dump and could get the cat off with little problems, then went to remove the turbo/dump pipe bolts, its slightly annoying cause the heatshield bracket gets in the way... but anyway the first one started to come off until it snapped, so before trying the others as i still want to be able to drive the car i redid everything up and am thinking i may need to get an exhaust place to give it a go, is the only way to get the broken one out to take the turbo off, or are there any other tricks? and where would you guys recommend to go to get it sorted, such an easy job made difficult...
-
i just removed my heat shield to get to my dump pipe, and was wondering what this cable does, does it need to be hooked back up or can it be left off?
-
yeah i didnt think it would be a prob down here just where im gonna be in a year or two, i guess ill keep my stock stuff in case of anything happening, and yeah my car is crazy rich atm i think, gonna clean my afm, adjust my idle and clean the aac valve soon

So need a little advice, i have a JJR front dump to go on my car, looking to get a high flow to finish it all off, was looking at getting a venom high flow, was thinking of going a 200CPSI 4.5" and emailed george, he recommended a 100CPSI and 5"... From what ive read most people have said any metal high flow cat is illegal, will the 200cpsi make a difference, or should i just go with the 100cpsi 5" cat?
