man i just lowered my car, nothing near that and its slightly annoying!

so that was the biggest mofo ever, went onto doing the rears last week and the nut and stud were spinning together so had to work out how to get the parcel shelf out... couldnt, left it till after work the other day and removed two supports on the left and right that the parcel shelf sits on cause the 6 x 9 were in the way... and had to use vice grips to hold the stud and remove the nut... but got it done... now to test drive... btw the rear on the r33 is a b***h but i guess if i ever have to do it again i know how :s

which part of the state are you in, its usually not too bad down here, my car passed after having to do small things, mines pretty stock though... just realised youre down south, i dont really know where could help

so i went and bought some new sockets to go on my 1/2 inch breaker and with almost zero effore the nuts came off, even the slightly damaged one... so now ive installed fronts, and ill have to wait till another day to do the rears... which will be more fun!

hmm might have to look at that, anyway bigger problem, wheel nuts were torqued on to hell, so used a breaker bar, then got the lower bolt off easy, went to do the first on the strut top and struggled went to use the breaker bar and it slipped, i think i may have stripped it a bit, so now dont know what to do :S

ok cheers, thought that could be the case, as i had a quick look under the car and the stock shocks have something sticking out, i guess its no use to me then

ok cheers thanks for that, last thing in this pick my coilovers came with this thing just above the 'c' collar that adjust height, never seen it on a coilover before, is it ok just to take it off?

ok well from what i figured about he coilovers, the very bottom collar is for lowering/raising the car, and the top one adjusts the preload, the one just below it, makes sure it doesnt move, and from vids and reading new springs can 'settle' so one vid said to tighten the preload by about 5mm to account for that, and i have been told that you just adjust it after bit of driving... just wanted to see if what others have done, so ill prob just install them and check them after a few days...

can anyone tell me if i have to adjust the preload when installing coilovers for the first time?

and do i have to adjust preload before install to account for the springs sinking/settling after install?

cool thanks thats what i thought, also other than the fronts needing the longer side facing outwards does it matter how the tops or rears are facing? or can they be rotated/installed either way.

Just thought id try posting here, when removing standard spring/shocks for coilovers do you need spring compressors? and does it matter which way the coilover faces? i have bc racing ones,

So thinking of installing my new BC coilovers myself soon when i get the time, any tips to make it go smoothly, im pretty sure i can do the fronts no problems, just the back im a bit unsure of, ive seen a vid on youtube where he just removes the rear seat, but ive read somewhere that you need to remove the parcel shelf? also other than height is there anything else i need to adjust before/during install? im prob gonna put the damper on soft as its for the street, but anything else you guys could recommend?

whats the condition of the skirts? and would you post the standard skirts/pod and strut brace?

its exactly the same sort of problem i have, but for me it has started after i changed my fuel pump to an 040, did a bit of reading and people have said to clean afm and the aac valve i think its called, i havent tried it yet been a bit lazy...

have you tried the knob on the right of the seat? its in front of the lever that reclines the seat, it lowers the front edge of the seat, i had issues with my legs hitting the steering wheel till i found it might not be the same issue though... it may help, although you are a lot taller than me...
